It's been awhile I say we wait less than a day. The person is not posting by the looks of it. He wanted the spot more and seems to be willing to post. But I'm cold hearted.

We could discuss plot ideas while we wait. Like maybe they all know each other at the start? Or...

Well, if they knew each other at the start, we'd have to figure out how people from so many different backgrounds all know each other.

Yeah, I was suggest they all meet up in a tavern and coincidentally find out they have the same quest/goal or something of that nature.

Also @Aristocles Will you start the IC or will we?

I will start the IC, but as I am mostly a narrator and player of monster, villains, and NPCS, it will be up to the players to do most of the action.

As for the sorceress, I don't see any CS for her as of yet. Should we let this new guy take over that role?

Alright. The character that was posted instead of the sorceress is a paladin, although the role specified was "sorceress". I will leave this to the players to decide. Should we go back to a sorceress or let the paladin stay?

I don't like the idea of two sword fighting guys. Makes my guy seem less important if there are two fighting classes. But I'm picky. Most parties have the one tank guy. I say stay with what was called for. Also his guy seemed a bit op.

I agree, I say he should change to a sorcerer/sorceress

We have two mages here as well, but the wizard is really the more academic type, while the sorceress is the more intuitive type. Of course, the ranger and rogue also have non-magical combat skills, while only two have magic.

As for the bard, she can fight but is really more of a "diplomat." If this were a D&D game, she'd be handling the bluff and diplomacy checks. And a lot of other things outside of a fight.

And the OP thing is a good point. This is a team game, and having one guy outclass the others is a problem. Not that tiers are necessarily a bad thing. Even the MCU Avengers have an upper and lower tier: Hulk, Thor, and Iron Man are leagues ahead of Captain America, Hawkeye, and Black Widow.

Buuuut you still shouldn't start out with a sword that can slay dragons. Even if it is only rumored to be able to.

Agreed. Dragon-slaying sword is OP.

So, should we go into detail with a setting, or do you all want to make it up as you go along? Or have me dictate a setting in my opening IC post?

Also the fact that no one knows his face or age.

I just think that the original team was perfect as it was. It had all the balance it needed.

If it had good balance, it is because the six characters (roughly) correspond to the six attributes in D&D:

Strength: Fighter
Dexterity: Rogue
Constitution: Ranger
Intelligence: Wizard
Wisdom: Sorceress
Charisma: Bard

I admit constitution could apply more to the fighter and that the ranger also uses dexterity a lot, but it is pretty close.

Yeah, I'd prefer the original six.

@KingOfNeverLanD

Also I agree with you starting the RP. Just to get the feel of thing. We can improvise the meeting part I guess (if that is what we're going for with the tavern thing)
