Casana, G. Lecor

Cracking her knuckles with a grin on her face, bags under her eyes from lack of sleep--not that it would hinder her one bit, Casana walked into the central courtyard of the Monastery where she'd agreed to fight the youngster, Alexis. She'd even gone so far as told her not to go easy on her, no matter what. The victory condition was Knock-Out though, which she found amusing, it'd mean she'd have to pull certain punches anyways, just so she didn't turn the girl into a fine paste, or skewer her on one of her chains. Nonetheless she hadn't had a good challenger in a long while so this'd be a nice warm up for more dangerous exercises later.

Stretching her arms and rolling her shoulders, even while limbering up her legs, she began to pump tiny pulses of Arcane energy through her body, waking herself up further. Once she'd finished she reached behind her and grabbed a glass of liquor from a pack she hadn't taken off yet, drinking all of it in one long swig before throwing it to the side where it shattered all over the ground. That was her first move.

She took a loose stance and gestured for the girl to come, "Bring it on girly," she said with a grin.

Alexis Tomer, The Fire Fighter

All her life, Alexis has only wanted to experience fights with the best of fighters. It didn't matter to her what their age or gender was, what their race was, how novice or accomlished they were. As long as they provided her with a good fight and whether or not she could learn from it was all that she cared about. That's why the months that passed after Alexis first set foot into the Mountain Monastery had been so valuable to her that she wouldn't want to trade places with anyone in the world even if they offered her a million dollars or something of equal value.

Alexis, since being at the Monastery, was viewed as the rowdy one and often displayed unpredictable tendencies during sparring matches. Even the monks who were more lenient towards the many, many fighters that come to the monastery to train that are often rowdy were really finding their patience being tried by Alexis. Maybe that's why Casana agreed to spar with her. The two of them were definitely similar in a lot of ways, at least, attitude-wise they were.

When the time came for them to finally duke it out, Alexis was more pumped than she had ever been before. She viewed Casana as someone she could spar with any day of the week and it would get more exciting and more intense the more times they fought, which didn't make this one any different. Well, maybe aside for the fact that she was even more excited, even as she looked across the way and saw Casana grin as if she was going to win.

"Careful missy, don't confuse confidence with cockiness." Alexis smirked.

Just as soon as she finished speaking, Alexis had took off in a dash. From one step forward to another, Alexis' body became engulfed in her Fighter's SPirit. Each step she took left a trail of burnt earth behind her. She closed in on Casana, thrusting her right arm forward and a stream of red-hot fire straight at her, the hot intensity of it burning the air around it.

Casana, G. Lecor

Grinning at her comment she spat to the side, getting ride of something she'd picked out her teeth, her eyes then returned to Alexis. She'd noticed the girl begin to dash towards her via her peripheral vision, and so when she turned back she was not at all surprised to see her moving. Already in her stance, Casana brought her left hand in front of her, braced her foot against the ground and then her grin changed to a smirk.

Then as Alexis thrust the flame forwards, lobbing it at her, the arcana leaned forwards, pushing her leg back, and vanished, a sharp snapping sound occurring as she did so. The ground showed noticeable cracks as well.

"Missed," her voice announced from behind the girl a millisecond after. When, and if, Alexis turned, Casana would already be a meter away from her, grinning. She had decided not to attack the girl at that speed, mostly to spare her a multitude of broken bones and ruptured organs. However, she had decided to take her weapon from where it was wrapped around her left hand and begin swinging it back and forth in a sort of X in front of her person. "Try again," she said with that same smirk.

Alexis Tomer - The Fire Fighter

It was, in the same moment that Alexis had shot forth a stream of red-hot flames that Casana had disappeared. Right in that same moment, Alexis heard breathing from behind her. It was the kind of breathing that was subtle, but with Alexis' enhanced senses, she could hear like a phone ringtone right against her ear. Before Alexis even had the chance to turn around, she heard an odd noise originating from Casana's left arm. The sounds of steel of some kind was heard and before she had much time to act, Casana'a aforementioned arm swung at Alexis' now front. Alexis raised her arms up in a defensive diagonal cross formation, layered with a light fire aura.

As the attack came in and Alexis defended herself, she miscalculated the force and it pushed her back a few feet. It was fortunate for Alexis that she had reacted in such a quick manner or she would have found herself in a bad way.

In the moment of silence, the emerald gaze from Alexis was at Casana. She looked at her opponent with such a grin that it almost displayed a deep respect for her. Here, in front of her, was a fighter that Alexis had never fought before. Not in the physical way, at least. For all of those months, her and Casana have been going at it in the ranks, in the eyes of the Monks that trained them, and in the eyes of someone much higher. Alexis felt such respect for this woman in front of her and she felt such excitement for this fight, that of which had just only begun.

Alexis kept a grin on her face. She released a battlecry bleeding with excitement. Her body reacted to such a cry and her Fighter's Spirit came out once more, burning with hotter flames than ever before. Alexis, this time, took to the air, a trail of reddish-orange fire following her. She went so fast that it was almost a blur, it was as if the flames themselves were granting Alexis permission to go faster. The sky was lit up by her power, by her spirit. The Flames from which came from within danced along the blue sky and white clouds.

She continued flying around, shooting short bursts of fire at and around Casana, each burst becoming more aggressive, more intense than the previous. Alexis didn't want to make the same mistake she did last time about just sending a linear, stream of fire at Casana. She wanted to make sure that at least one of the bursts of fire that set the ground below her ablaze made contact with Casana in at least some aspect.

Casana, G. Lecor

Watching as she flew into the air, the flames wreathing her form, Casana raised an eyebrow, that same small grin on her lips. Then the fireballs came and she pushed off, weaving in and out, between their forms. As she let one near her body, obscuring Alexis' vision, Casana shrouded her body in arcane energy, then sprung upwards, shifting her weapon's state as she did so. Quickly it became two chakrams and she wound part of the chain around her forearm. Even as she did so she emerged from the flames, unscathed, and swung the chakram through the air, throwing it as she swung so it would fly at Alexis. In the same movement she grabbed allowed the chain to lengthen so its movement could continue. She continued to hurtle upwards into the air, throwing the second chakram down and behind her as she did so.

Alexis Tomer, The Fire Fighter

As she lit the ground ablaze with her fire, Alexis saw the ground itself begin to be destroyed by the hot intensity of her fire. Some of it was chipped off, mainly around the textiles portion of the ground. A wide grin appeared on her face. This grin was because she saw that one of the fireballs hit Casana, or so she thought, anyways. All of a sudden, Casana emerged from the fire, with a chakram weapon in hands. In the same moment that it had happened, Alexis saw a chakram come at her with such a speed and force behind it that she had only seconds to react to it.

"Shit, shit, shit." Alexis frantically put her arms in front of her, the fire now spreading around her as if her body was an oil reserve. The flowing flames covered her body so much that it was like Alexis herself was a Human Torch.

And then the Chakram came at her. Alexis had her hands out, fire expelling from them. There was a struggle between her and Casana's Chakram. Alexis was holding it steady as she stayed still in the air. Alexis could feel her side of the struggle letting up, however. The steel of Casana's weapon starting to break through Alexis' fire aura. Alexis probably had a minute left of her fire until she would have to recharge it.

Just as she felt the grip of the chakram going deeper and deeper, past the layers of the fire aura, Alexis used all of her available strength to force the chakram to the side. Though it did work, the whiplash that Alexis felt whirled her to the second level on the left side of the Monastery, sending her crashing into it hard and her fire aura ceased.

Her strike having gone through, Casana chuckled even as she yanked the chain of the chakram she'd thrown behind her, then did so in the opposite direction, sending it down into the ground. She then pulled on it, hard, and the chain went taut. She dropped that chain, pulled her legs up under her, and slammed them down on the chain, rocketing herself upwards, higher into the air. The chain was pulled from the ground with this maneuver, as part of it remained wrapped around her upper right arm.

As she gazed down her eyes noted Alexis' form and her smile grew. Her hand grabbing the chain trailing down and behind her, she pulled it up towards her, shrinking it at the same time as she swung the other chain, causing it to fly forwards at an angle, traveling up further before it began arcing downwards towards Alexis' position.

The chakram was aimed right at the girl.

Alexis Tomer, The Fire Fighter

As she loudly cursed to herself and at Casana, she tried to regain herself. Alexis shook her head and felt a slight pain. She felt her head, with her hands running all around it, and on her forehead she felt the wet touch of liquid. As she brought that hand to her view, crimson liquid covered her index and middle finger. The same liquid started to drip down in front of her view. Alexis was bleeding. That crash must have been a main contributing factor to it. She cursed again.

Now taking the time to look up, Alexis saw a chakram incoming. On instinct, she quickly got up and thew her form in a dodge roll. She heard the chakram crash hard into where she was just at. Alexis then got up, furious and excited at the same time. Her arms were bent in front of her, hand open, fingers slightly bent, and she flared up. Her fire once again surrounded her person.

Alexis wasted not a single moment. She took to the air, a trail of red and orange fire following behind her. Casana was wide open and Alexis would exploit this. Alexis flew at face value to Casana and with a hard swing of her left arm, delivered a punch so full of fiery passion, that the hit itself had more than all of Alexis' might.

It was too bad that Alexis didn't know how her opponent's weapon really worked. As the chakram struck where the girl had been, its edges sharpened further and expanded out four inches from the blade, using the force behind the blow in that moment to cut into the building. Once they had dug in properly, the edges of the chakram that had been sharp expanded outwards, becoming thick, and locking the chakram into the building.

It was an anchor point.

However, Alexis didn't see any of it, for she flew forth, attempting to close the distance between them, thinking Casana incapable of movement due to her being airborne. She was dead wrong. Pulling, Casana moved herself forwards in the air, using the chain as leverage, even as she swung the other chakram around her body. By now Alexis was a mere 3 meters away and counting.

Casana let the chain of her anchored chakram fall somewhat, creating some slack, before it stiffened, her foot touched it, and she moved herself into a high speed spin. As Alexis came to be 2 meters away this occured and as she reared back her fist for a punch, Casana was spinning, the chakram she'd spun around her form--causing it to wrap around her--whirling off of her. She had turned it from a blade to a blunt object with enough momentum behind it to send Alexis flying once more the moment it hit her, which it likely would as she was almost certainly too close to dodge. The whole time, Casana wore a fierce grin, her eyes gleaming with the same ferocity.

Alexis Tomer, The Fire Fighter

Alexis had one thing in mind and only one thing. She wanted to get this hit in. It had all of her might and with the amount of her power thrown into it, it very well posed a threat to Casana's life. Even though this is mostly an advanced sparring match, Alexis wasn't going to hold back. Regardless, it would seem that Casana wouldn't be able to get her hit in as she was suddenly hit in her gut.

Alexis blinked a few times. To her, time froze around her. It wasn't exactly that, but the image of her getting struck in the gut played over and over like a broken record. the hymns of the angels playing in the background as the newly-formed blunt-force weapon planted itself into her exposed gut area.

And then time unfroze for her. A single moment passed and Alexis coughed up blood, the crimson liquid being forced upon Casana's clothing.

In the real time of the battle, Alexis' vision started to now blur due to the fact that her gut was struck so hard. It was due to this fact that her Fighter's Spirit started to waver. The sparks of fire flashing. Each flash lowered her form closer and closer to the ground. Alexis tried all that she could to get control of it and stay suspended in the air, but to no avail. Alexis just was hit too hard to keep her Fire Aura in its entirety. As a result of this, Alexis was plummeting to the ground like a meteor from the sky with only the ground to be her cushion.

About three feet from the ground, Alexis took conscious up again. She flipped her body as her stomach area was facing the ground. She was able to position her body in such a way that, while she was able to somewhat land safely on the ground, her right knee and hand scraped against the ground. All the while, her gaze was directly up at Casana. It did not shift at all. A burning anger now lit up Alexis' eyes. Her single focus was winning by any means necessary.

Her weapon striking home, Casana smirked and continued to spin, before extending the chain and increasing its density even as she let the remaining chakram go, the widened one returning to normal. The chakram flew diagonally down to the ground and stuck into it somewhat. She pulled, having already anchored the chakram by altering its distribution, and as such began moving downwards quickly. She physicalized some of her energy as she released it, pushing off of it to reach the ground faster. As she got 4 meters above the ground she stiffed part of the chain so it acted like a pole. She fell a bit more, increasing her durability, even as the rest of the chain went taut and swung her, as a monkey on a vine from a jungle tree, towards Alexis. At the end of the swing, having taken her only 2 meters, her total distance from Alexis being 8 meters, she disabled the stiffness and pulled her weapon towards her. She held one hand out, with chain in it, before her and used her other hand to throw the second chakram backwards. The chain slid through her palm as one chakram acted as a counter balance, pulling the one she'd pulled towards her even faster. She swung the hand before her, twisting her body to maximize the momentum even as her feet touched the ground.

As she made contact with the ground once more the chakram was already, due to the swing, flying towards Alexis in a long range horizontal slash.

Alexis Tomer, The Fire Fighter

Alexis thought that she had at least some time to rest before Casana would come for her next attack, but she was wrong. Within seconds, the latter fighter did an impressive display of momentum manipulation with the chakarms and the chains that connected them. Alexis, by the time that Casana was just one meter from the ground, activated her Fighter Spirit Aura, it flaring up brighter now. Alexis could feel that this would most likely be her last time using it. When Casana had launched her chakarm at Alexis in a long-ranged, horizontal slice/slash, Alexis ducked. In the few seconds that it flew over her head, Alexis placed her hands on the ground, sending her fire powers through the ground. As the ground itself began to heat up at a fast rate, a straight line of the heated ground wold erupt, sending a vibrant -- and rather hot -- display of fire and ground right beneath Casana.

Casana, G. Lecor

There it was, the act of desperation, the moment just before someone gave up, no matter how spirited they were. She couldn't help but revel in it as it occurred, couldn't help it at all. Her mana suddenly conducted through the chain as it passed over Alexis and the chain curled, the spikes twisted just so, and then extended in a single instant. None of them struck the girl outright, instead they'd spear into the ground in select locations, barring essentially all movement if they succeeded.

If it worked Casana, having released arcane energies on the surface of the ground beneath her, would suddenly accelerate to full speed, vanishing from Alexis' perception.

The attack would be so fast that Alexis wouldn't know what hit her if it worked. Suddenly the girl would simply go limp, falling unconscious as Casana struck her in a way that didn't utilize any of her forwards momentum, but delivered enough force to knock the girl out. Her movement would stop just behind Alexis, a grin on her face. If any of the above was interrupted however, things would play out differently.

Alexis Tomer, The Firefighter

They came so fast that Alexis didn't realize they were around her until it was too late. Those chains and spikes surrounded her, dug into the ground. With Alexis in her one-knee position, she barely had any time to react, let alone escape.

In her last ditch effort to have any hope of surviving, Alexis dug deep into her spirit and her heart. She conjured up what remaining power she had left and then some. It all happened in a flash, but when it was all said and done, when the arcane energies from Casana's attack ended and when Alexis' own power flared up high into the sky, there was a lava-colored, armor-like shell surrounding the Firefighter, half of already cracked away as the left side of her face was revealed through it, her left, emerald eye staring at Casana. And the right side of her body from shoulder down was also revealed. Alexis had severe, dark red burns on her skin as a result. This specific techinque that she used was one of high risk, but this time it saved her life.

"Whatever you just tried to do didn't work..." Her voice trailed off as the lava-colored shell armor cracked off, piece by piece. When it had completely broke off from her skin, Alexis' body fell to the ground face-first. "Shit, this sucks..." In the end, Alexis fell unconscious. Even though she survived Casana's last attack and was able to successfully defend herself from it, the risk that she took using the Hardened Spirit Armor took its toll on her body. As a result, she was drained of all of her stamina which caused her to faint.
