I actually felt that Pa Kent was one of the stronger elements of the movie, especially considering the stellar performance Kevin Costner gave. Sure, he seemed confused about how to best help his son, wrestled with his own morality in face of the bigger issues at hand, and generally seemed constantly conflicted with the what he hoped for Clark and the bigger picture. At the end of the day, all that just makes him incredibly. . . human.

To me they really achieved that which makes the Kents so important to the Superman mythos. They humanized Clark Kent.

Oh, I didn't mean that Pa Kent annoyed me, what I meant was that the way he died annoyed me. But again, it only bothered me the tiniest bit, before I went back to enjoying the rest of the film.

I <3 Costner. He's a great actor in my book. I just kept getting pulled out of the story with some of his decisions. (Plus they killed him.)

So apparently this is a leak from WB Montreal, who recently announced that they're working on a new DC game...

*nerdy snort* Um his name is supposed to have a dash in between the Kal and the El. Kal El is not his real name. *pushes up thick rimmed glasses.* Furthermore the power of freeze breath is just an extension of his Super Breath which is the real power. This game sucks 0/10!!

Third and final solo Kara post is up.

Blue Demon, let me know how you want to approach the ending there.

Not sure if I'll finish the Helena app or pursue someone else. Suggestions, thoughts, always welcome.

I liked how they got rid of wonder woman's Amazon origin. For me it wasn't very interesting and boring. The New Gods are amazing and this Wonder Woman is bad ass with her boom tube combat skills

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Wonder Woman's Amazon origins a massive part of her character?

I never cared for it, New Gods are more unique and interesting

That's your opinion, I find Greek mythology has been done to death. New Gods are more interesting and more fresh.

Classical Mythology way out encompasses just Greek. Norse, Egyptian, Roman etc. There's so many other Earth mythologies that are untapped the idea of making Wonder Woman based on a bunch of 'Space Gods' who are really just bad parodies of 'Earth Deities' is actually bizarre to me.

A Norse Wonder Woman where she was a Valkyrie would pretty much accomplish everything the New God version has, heck you could even replace the Mother Box with the BiFrost. Would she essentially be Sif? Well yeah, but she pretty much is anyways.

Enjoyed the arc Ruby.

As to you second character, well I liked the sound of your Huntress, her grayer moral compass could definitely add a bit of diversity to our cast of heroes, though would possibly keep her at odds with the others.

Then they would get accused of ripping off Marvel. Like it or not Marvel almost owns Norse mythology in comics thanks to their comics and movies. I think a mother box is way cooler than a rainbow bridge. The New Gods are a mix of mythology and the bible.

I like both. Recently I've been trying to make use of Aztec mythology, but before I've tapped into Norse, Zoroastranismajigger--the Persian one, and stuff of the like. Greek is easily the most popular for some reason, may be that it's easy to swallow compared to others, say Hinduism. I think the New Gods would be a lot better if Kirby had been able to finish his original story. They're an easy plot device nowadays, but the original series was awesome at first, then it wasn't because the writers couldn't figure out how to use them correctly. The Old Gods are easily better developed, IMO.

Ruby, I'd love to read your Huntress.

you've got a point, I prefer to use more obscure mythology and the bible for character creations. Like in a story I wrote I used the patron saints as heroes with powers from God.

Thanks! There might be a 'one-shot' of material left over that I can work with, actually.

I'd need to know more about the current Gotham Mafia scene.

Haven't set anything in stone concerning them, save that they are greatly diminished. Carmine Falcone is currently serving a prison sentence in Blackgate, and while his former position guarantee's him certain concessions not granted to other prisoners there's little to no chance of him ever being released. On top of that his health is failing him. His family have fled to Italy, though there is whispers of certain scions planning to return and regain their former glory.

What exactly did you have in mind?

Oh, the plan for Helena was for her to go home like the Devil come down to Gotham: kill any old elements that are resistant, had something to do with the massacre of her family, or that she just doesn't like. Regroup the rest for a proxy Don. On the surface a revenge driven power move, under the surface the only way for Helena to get to know every dark corner of the Gotham mob for the Crime Bible, and probably some of her own reasons.

I originally planned for her to leave a Sanctuary produced flash drive after the scene cut, so it doesn't have to be a meet in person.
