Plants are nice. But don't offer the challenge a human opponent does. You know something funny? The idea of a "metagame" is often relegated to referring to video games. But it in fact is very important in strategy. In fact it's one of the first things you should learn, as everything in the field uses the basic ideas of simply knowing what your opponent will do.in fact, without a mastery of said metagame you might as well throw in the towel, as at the end of it all the one who controls the meta controls the battle.

You can know all sorts of fancy tactics. You can know 800 different ways to flank into a pincer, or push an enemy into an ambush. But none of it matters if you can't out guess the enemy. And if your mastery is better then the opponents, it becomes less of a guess and more of a self fulfilling prophecy as you force the opponent to take the choices you set for it

Depending on where you start him, It could actually be fairly easy to push him into the RP. Look at the two cat creature things of the RP (though one is inifinitely more adorable)

One just plopped down in front of the good guys for a scratch. While the other showed up, and chibified some of the most dangerous villains in the RP so far.
