@poog the pig Well, you know what, we might eventually commission you to draw the entire Divinus cast! Maybe when I'm overworked and richer (rather than getting poorer to get overworked... damn uni) we'll sit down for a cup of tea and have a conversation in the Scottish highlands. Termite will be hiding in the nearby woods and Ommok Cyclone will be there too. Rtron will be under the table. We'll negotiate, I'll haggle, will try to keep it sweet, play on your love for those SCOTTESH MOUNTAINS. You'll demand £x.50 and I'll insist on £x.45. I'll try to keep you sweet, but if you persist I'll have to call them in.

And Niciel Scarifar will be like, 'wait, is that real blood on Vestec's claws?'
And Rtron will be like, 'Nooo...'.

The Highlands are overrated, Orkney and Skye is where it's at.

I'd draw the Divinus cast for free tbh, but money would be nice extra stipulation.

@poog the pig Having never been to Scotland, I'll take your word for it xP
And I know you would draw Divinus stuff if we bugged you, but I'd sleep better at night knowing that you got something in return. Maybe if we're all still here in a year we can draw the cast as a 2-year anniversary thing.

Edit: for now though, can we, like, have all your Alefpria artwork in a single post? Because it gives me something of a kick to see anything Divinus, as Mutton says, visually fleshed out

Today I had my first class in the area of economics, catch is, my Campus is BIG so it was in the south sector, where they teach medicine, law, and other stuff that only rich people can pay. Since I'm relatively broken, I only stayed in the north so far.

There are three paths from the north sector to the south, you can have a car and go trough the roads, you can go trough a pathway that crosses the parking lot, though unless it is past 7 PM at night, the thing is pretty much deserted with no soul to help you. And then there is a third pathway...

But probably far more narrow.

I mean, I could see the mini-rainforest from my class, but I always thought it was shorter than what it actually was and far more tamed, I mean, typically this close to the city it's nothing but birds and with the occasional capybara or armadillo.

On the bad side, a fuckton of spiders. Fuck that bullshit.

On the good side, some tree doggoboys.

Also known as the marmoset.

They are cute, but when 7 of these friendos jump on the branches over you as you walk they are a bit spooky. Also they kept eyeing my phone, and I don't want to be like that arabian dude who lost his phone to a ♪special edition♫ dog from the desert, so I stopped taking photos.

@Kho There was more than one person taking photos. Or maybe it was all staged by the fennecs to make themselves seem menacing and not cute, too bad it failed terribly.

@poog the pig We have a few options. You can collate it and post it here, and I can copy it into this post.
Or, we can make a wiki page and put them there if you're comfortable with that (meaning you can edit whenever you like without me as an intermediary.

And yeah, it's oddly fitting. You know, that gif is bumbling about somewhere in one of the first page posts. I've just been gathering all these gifs y'all make and plomping them wherever - you know, as a pleasant surprise for anyone bored enough to look through all that

Guys, as you know, Shaqmar marched out against the Ma'Erkoz with 40,000 warriors in his war party, and was later joined by 10,000 of the Tagham.

A few battles took place between 10,000+ hordes on either side as seen in the second CyKhollab. Cyclone has just objected about these numbers and wants me to retroactively edit (>:CCCC). He says that these armies are bigger than the populations of (maybe?) all of Galbar, or significant population centres. I insist that these numbers are only natural and in line with what I've read on Mongols as well as ancient battles. Cyclone says Mongols are much later historically than the relative period on Galbar at the moment - but if we look to, say, the Huns and Romans, they had battles which had over 50,000 warriors on each side (at a minimum): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Ca..

So, just want to get thoughts on the matter as I'm particularly averse to retro-editing anything.

Counter statistics include the fact that the Bronze Age began in Europe before 2000 B.C.E., over a thousand years before those things that silly Kho would cite in a misguided attempt to make me look the fool. ( ;p Kho you're dirty)

And remember that not all parts of Galbar are even in the Bronze Age yet.

Even if we cut some slack and say that Galbar is equivalent to maybe Earth around 1000 B.C.E., Wikipedia says that the world's largest city at the time was Thebes in Egypt, which was home to 50,000. Having two random clans of nomadic pastoralists fielding armies larger than Vetros' entire population strikes me as utterly absurd.

By no means do I want this to be like last RP where there are 10,000 people in the entire world, but come on guys...I think there's a more reasonable middle ground that can be found by roughly following historical population sizes.

Edit: I'll take the liberty of posting the pertinent lines that sparked this debate between Kho and I.

I am not overly bothered by the numbers right now. However, it's looking like those kinds of armies are fielded after a huge unification effort. Either via forming an empire or uniting loads of nomads over a long span of time.

Over in Yorum, I'm currently working on city states having no more than several hundred to one or two thousand men in an army at most. That'll get bigger as we go if they unite, but proportional to the population of each one, it wouldn't make sense for it to be higher.

Numbers are always a fun subject when it comes to this stuff. Typically when it comes to Bronze Age, in the early to mid age (3,700 B.C. - 2,600 B.C.) major settlements tended to have around 10,000 occupants though the city of Uruk was said to house around 50,000 to 80,000 people. But if the Bronze Age hasn't come to most of Galbar and is still in Neolithic times then settlements can vary from a few hundred to just about 5,000 in major areas.

Then again I don't necessarily care about being too historically accurate in terms of numbers, so long as the battle is well-written and makes me want to stab Amartía with a sword.

@Cyclone That number is skewed down because 1000 BC is right after the collapse of the bronze age, so Thebes's population went from 120 thousand to 50 thousand. Of course I think those numbers are too big too, but still, this gives a better context.
