_{Several minutes before the Royal carnival}

Ah yes, the quaint town of Newjinsland! Home to many different types of people, hustling and bustling through the dirt roads as they prepare for the passing carnival with great haste! Mundane humans left and right, exchanging greetings and wishes of luck for the upcoming pie-eating competition, Mages congregating in privacy as they muse over the joyous nature of this little town, and very short... Round people in armor? They'd apparently been part of the forces that made up Yeven's Royal guard, but they were so short, standing only 2 feet tall, and very... Round! Well, they were there to help set up the carnival, so maybe these little people were just a cheaper source of labor for the king! Good help is hard to find nowadays, after all.

Now where was the Carnival's host? Nearly everyone was prepared to witness his speech in the central square to kick of the festivities! It was practically a mob! Well, minus the torches, pitchforks, and general unpleasantness that accompanied such a thing.

The stage was set near the edge of the main plaza, but the curtain was still down. The little round men who were helping set up were lined up across the stage, but they didn't seem to be doing much, aside from mumbling to one another while peering at the crowd curiously with their beady yellow eyes, which seemed to glow from behind the darkness of their little helmets.

They seemed like swell fellas!

As the morning sun appeared above Newjinsland, it's rays of sunlight made their way through the windows of a house in the outer ring of houses of Newjinsland. As the rays struck Jenso's eyes, his eyes shot open. "It's morning! Today's festival day!" He shouted in a cheerful tone. He bolted down the stairs, and ended up slipping. "OH SHIT!!" He shouted, crashing down from the stairs and ending face-first into the ground. "Ow." He said, and got back up. Fortunately he only had scratches. He hopped back onto his feet, and ran over to the kitchen table. He grabbed a sandwich from his fridge and ate it. After finishing his meal, he opened his front door and slammed it shut behind him.

As he did this, the entire house ended up collapsing behind him with loud cracking noises. The entire building was destroyed, besides the front door. "Aw come ON!! Not again!!" Jenso shrieked in frustration. He shrugged and ran off towards the plaza.

Jenso bolted into the plaza, and rose his arms into the sky. "YEAH!! PARTY!!" He shouted, his voice echoeing through the air. He got silent and blinked at the curtain that was still down. "...Oh. It hasn't started yet." He said in dissapointment, as some people gave him confused looks.

One of the many round armored knights glanced and Jenso angrily, holding one of his stubby fingers between his eyes, as if to make a 'shoosh' motion. Jenso's loud mouth was certainly annoying those guys! What a bunch of assholes.

_{Minutes are painful}

Ainra groaned audibly, sitting cross-legged on the roof of a merchant's cart, fingers tapping against the wooden roof in impatience. She was getting awfully sick of waiting for this festival to start, and several of the short round guards had started ignoring her after about the fourth time she pestered them about how much longer it was going to be. She had considered rolling one of them around to pass the time, but they had weapons, and she didn't feel like getting kicked out of the festival--or the town--before it even started.

"I came here to have fun and food, not sit around and stare at a curtain," she grumbled, eyes wandering among the crowd. Apparently some fellow in yellow had run in expecting the fun to have started also. The empathy was real as he was shushed by one of the tiny ball guards. Maybe he'd be content in kicking one of them around with her for sport later.

Newjinsland, Side of stage

_{Nothing suspicious}

Eleanor was beside the stage, she was planning to cut the power to the lighting as it was as simple as unplugging a lighting board. She looks around to see if anyone is around. She sits beside the side of the stage waiting for the perfect moment when no one is around.

She was in a white dress and was wearing a hat, to cover her face

Reiley struggled to stand as she got out of bed, waking up was never her strong suit. She was more of a night owl. She summoned some cherubs to pull off her blankets and help her up. They did, and vanished.
After getting dressed and eating a few pieces of fruit, Reiley exited her house and made her way to the Carnival. It was one of her favorite nights! It did sometimes bring back some bad memories from before her transition, but she tried to not let that keep her down.

As Reiley entered the carnival, she noticed a woman sitting atop a merchant's cart. The woman seemed discontent, and Reiley approached her. "Hi." she spoke, somewhat awkwardly. "I'm Reiley, and I don't know many people around here, I mostly sit around reading all day. Except for when the carnival comes around." she had thought she was rambling, and cut herself off, waiting for a response

_{Look at all that power!}

Maple snuck backstage. He felt that there was a lot of electricity running over there. Sitting behind a prop, looking upwards at the spotlights, he was mesmerized by the high pitched noise the electric current was making - too high pitched for most of everyone else to hear.

_{Jesus christ this is some fishy shit}

The various little men were finally ready to start the show. The curtains flung open and revealed a row of the little men, some in a darker version of the steel armor they wore, addressing the crowd with a single round soldier in golden armor stepping toward the mic. Unfortunately, he was far too short to reach it, despite hopping to grab it several times. He finally knocked the microphone stand over, prompting a loud buzzing noised to echo through the speakers before he went over to pick it up.

"A~Hem" He huffed into the mic. "Welcome to the royal fair. My name is Dr.Krink, and I'm here to ask you one question. Are you happy?"

...The fuck was with this dude's serious demeanor? Didn't he know this was a party?

Regardless of Dr.Chump's tone of voice, nearly 300 of the small soldiers started to pop out of the wood work from all around, surrounding the main crowd slowly, but not engaging them at all.

_{This festival sucks.}

Ainra rose an eyebrow, looking down from her perch at the young woman below her, nostrils flaring once. A little different from the common crowd, but she couldn't put her finger as to why. Older than her, although there was a chance she could have passed for younger. And maybe desperate, considering she decided to pick out the weird chick sitting on a cart to make small talk with.

Guess everyone needs a friend, even if they're out of place. Ainra's mouth turned slightly when she mentioned reading though. It had to be the bookworm, didn't it. "Um, well, hi I guess. The name's Ainra. I don't really know anyone around here either; I'm on a little vacation to here for the fun. Not that there is any, friggin' carnival taking forever to start... you probably could've stayed inside to read and missed nothing." As she just finished speaking though, the curtains finally flew open, and she sprung her attention back away from the girl and towards the stage. Finally, some entertainment.

...Until it was just another little ball man, shinier this time, with a few less-shiny ball men behind him. What was this, a carnival for giant dung beetles? She was about to start heckling, until whole army of the soldiers popped up all around. It didn't take a genius to know that being surrounded by soldiers was bad, and her eyes narrowed some, sliding off of the cart. "... Scratch that. You would have missed plenty. Don't suppose you have any idea what's going on, Reiley?"

_{The curtains open!}

Jenso got a wide grin on his face as the curtains opened. "YEAH!!! HERE WE GO!!" He shouted, waiting for some kind of event to begin. He was ready to party like there was no tomorrow. As the row of little men and the one golden round soldier appeared at the mic, it was clear to Jenso. The soldier was going to sing! He gave the man a strange look as he spoke and asked everyone if they were happy, in an extremely serious tone. "Yeah! I'm hyped and ready as ever! What song are you going to sing?!" Jenso shrieked. He looked over his shoulder as he heard the sounds of metal footsteps behind him, as the soldiers surrounded the plaza. 'That's a lot of security...' He thought, keeping his guard up.

He understood that they would want some security during this event, but this was a little much.

_{Feeling of being watched.}

The loud buzzing noises snapped Maple out of his trance with the electrical current. "Agh! Loud noise!"

It rang in his ears as he scaredly scurried away... towards the front of the scene. He stopped running before hopping off the scene, getting stage fright from all the stares that were directed slightly towards him. He flinched at this time.

_{A big mistake}

Eleanor hears Dr Krink's voice, as he starts the royal fair. She smirks as she makes her way to back of stage by crawling under the side. She stares at all the.... Emptiness behind the stage. Eleanor keeps low and behind things as she tries to make her way towards the LX board. She slips a pair of gloves on as she unplugs the LX board. She starts to rush off stage knowing this could blow some of the lights up on stage. She slides out and notices the small soldiers heading towards the main crowd... She counts down from 3 in her head, hoping for the blowing up of the bulbs

Reiley tried to stay calm, but on the inside she was afraid. She had issues leaving the house for this very reason.
Reiley spoke, "No. This---This is strange." she stuttered, being surrounded by an army of these metal soldiers. She summoned up some cherubs, a group of 6 that surrounded her. They held lil' swords, that could basically be used as a toothpick to Reiley. If Reiley summoned enough cherubs, she could likely get them to carry her away, but she was feeling weak. She looked up towards the stage and yelled back, "It's hard to be happy when you're surrounded by an army!" sweat dripped down the bridge of her nose.

_{Did somebody say... Krunk?.. No..? Ok...}

Dr. Nerdlord smiled under his golden helmet as Jenso spoke, but it wasn't visible, just as none of the little men's faces were visible. Only his yellow eyes could be seen glowing in the darkness that obscured his face. But when a small fox-like creature darted past the line of soldier's behind him, Dr. Chump turned around with a grimace. "What..?" Then a small girl called out to him from the crowd, noting the makeshift army that surrounded them.

Then, without any prompt, the lights went out above him, with a few bulbs popping from added stress. "What's the meaning of this? Krunklets! Krunklites! Go investigate! I won't have Lord Krunk's plans ruined by a bunch of stupid civilians-" And that was when Dr. Idiot realized he'd given away the identity of him and his soldiers. Oh, poor Dr. Nobrainsatall... "Forget it! KRUNK LEGION, ATTACK!" He shouted.

Suddenly, the surrounding soldiers began to round up the civilians into small groups, tying them up and knocking out anyone who dared to stand in their way. Whoa! The weird little soldiers that nobody had ever seen before were EVIL!? WHO WOULD'VE GUESSED?

_{Oh shit! The ass-kicking begins!}

Jenso frowned as Dr. Krink did not reply to his question. His complete silence and the army that surrounded him didn't look friendly at all. Something was going on, and Jenso was prepared for anything. Jenso gave Maple a confused look as he bolted off the stage and the light bulbs suddenly popped. 'What the heck..?!' He thought. As Dr. Krink mentioned someone called Lord Krunk and ordered the army to attack, Jenso knew more then enough.

He gathered flames in his hands as they materialised into a hammer. He dashed towards a group of charging soldiers and held the hammer's handle tightly with both hands. He spun around in circles, swinging the hammer wildly around him as he did. "Bring it! I'll kick your asses!" He shouted.

A smirk cracked across Ainra's face, baring sharp teeth as she cracked her knuckles. "Oh, it's not all that hard. Just have to look at it from another angle!" Ainra ran at some of the Krunklets coming towards her, and jumped up to dive kick the lot of them. "First one to knock down a hundred wins!"

The festival itself wasn't happening anymore. The festival of kicking the shit out of the annoying ball soldiers, however... she could still get behind that prospect. She was already giggling with excitement.

Newjinsland, Side of stage, in the shadows

_{I'm no coward, just don't have a reason to fight...}

Eleanor was lying within the shadows of the side of the stage. She watched as soldiers surrounded the crowd... Eleanor was about to come out and fight when soldiers were being knocked all over. Her mind was made, she would stay hidden till further notice.

_{Self esteem is at a new low...}

Reiley yelped as a krunklet came at her from above, she extended her hand and a group of cherubs seemed to exit from a portal around her hand. They lifted it high into the sky and dropped it, shattering it. The six surrounding her kept ones on the ground from hitting her, but tons were coming from the sky and she didn't know what to do.
M-My wolf.. I could..
The thought exited her mind as she jumped out of the way of a leaping krunklet.
Not enough energy...
Reiley patted her bag and she felt a book rattle around, she hid behind a merchants cart and pulled it out. A label on the front read "Summoning."

Reiley skimmed through the book as fast as possible, looking for something that could possibly help her. Spiders...
"Nephila maculata!" she shouted. She felt power drain out of her, but she had refuge behind the merchants cart, and any krunklets coming her way would be stopped by the new spell she had just learned. The first time she uses a spell is always the hardest, but after that it gets easier.

In the book of summoning, on a tattered page, it reads:
Nephila maculata
Summoning Spell of the Arachnid variety, creates several spiders that erupt from the ground and protect the summoner at all costs.
TREAT AS A GLASS CANNON.

As stated in the book, the spiders erupted from the ground as she took short sharp breaths. The spiders leapt at krunklets near by, but they were destroyed quick. The surrounding krunklets came in on her quite quick, and she muttered. "Shit." the cherubs she had, dissipated. As she had no more strength. Reiley passed out, and subsequently was tied up by the krunklets.

Well, this is nothing new is it? You've placed yourself in harms way. AGAIN. You, are worthless. the words seemed to just flow from her mothers mouth.

That's not true! but she had lost the will to fight her mother.

_TREMORS!

The Krunklets continued to increase in number, 400 to 1000 to 1500, there were far too many and they were coming from almost NOWHERE! Jenso was surrounded by ten Krunklets, all of whom pulled their arms and legs into their round armor, lowered their head, and rolled towards him from all directions like an army of sentient boulders, the little spikes on their helmet tearing up the ground as they did so.

Ainra was like-wise swarmed, but instead of simply rolling, the Krunklets bounced to gain air, attempting to strike from above! Before she could react, a Krunklet struck her in the head, knocking her out prematurely, while the others tied her up and put her in a fire-proof sack.

Even Reiley was subdued promptly, giving the civilians little to defend themselves with. Dr. Krink laughed aloud and rose his stubby little hands in excitement. "Perfect! I'll alert the Krunk-o-trons to come ascertain these specimens post-haste!" He announced, pulled a small radio out of his armor as if he were magic! That's the power of hammer-space, ladies and gentlemen.

Reiley might've felt something moving underneath her as she sat motionless in the crowd. It was a few subtle quakes, the dirt moving like it was being torn apart. Eventually, it completely fell apart, and she sunk into the ground, which closed up behind her once again, as quickly as it swallowed her up. A small hairy man started to shake her, trying to wake her up. "Miss, miss? Wake up, miss!" he urged. The little mole-man turned around and said something into the tunnels behind him, something that only sounded like rodent-chattering, before returning to Reiley's aid. "Miss, wake up! We're here to save you!"

Before long, Ainra was also pulled into the soft dirt, and soon Jenso would feel the same shifting beneath him, if he continued to show his prowess.

There was chaos all around Maple as he tried to make a way through the Crunk Legion to escape the scene. Scurrying here and there, being very afraid of getting stomped by any of these stupid-looking doofusses. That would be the worst way to go!
