Charles would look at the teacher who arrived and raise a brow and then shrugs and looks over at the other students to see their reactions to everything going on.

Loki looked to Chimera and chuckled then looked at the teacher and felt something strange about her though just lets it pass.. after all his around strange all the time.

Maka stepped inside the large academy, nervous. If she was late, she would have to walk into a classroom full of people she didn't know, in front of everyone. Maka sighed. She never liked walking into a full classroom. Most of the time, Maka wasn't late. Stupid dad. I can't believe it! Maka thought, grumpily walking in the hallways to find a classroom that had Lord Death in it. Surely he'd be in one, right?
As Maka walked, she made sure to peek into every room she passed, to look for Lord Death. Maka went right past him when she heard his voice, and quickly ran back to peer in. Yes, it was Lord Deaths voice alright. Maka quietly slide down and slumped against the wall, nervously listening. "I don't want to just walk into a classroom. What if I don't know where to sit? What if I bump into someone? Not a chance!" Maka told herself, still keeping herself quiet.

Nodding in a form of farewell as Lord Death left the classroom, Catherine was just about ready to step up to the lectern when she noticed Maka.

Putting her smile back on her face, Catherine turned in her direction.

"Don't worry," she assured, "I won't bite. Nobody here will - if they know what's good for them."

Maka looked up, her eyes glowing with interest. "O-Okay... Its just, I don't like walking into a whole classroom of kids that I hardly know." Maka told her, before something hit her. "Hey, Who are you? You dong look like a Meister or Weapon."

"Me?" Catherine tilted her head.

"I'll introduce myself in a moment; but that can't happen until class starts. And that can't happen with you standing in the entrance like that."

Make looked at the ground. Before turning into a bow and arrow, she growled. "I'm not just entering into some room full of strangers!" Maka looked at the witch through the sharp red bow. They weren't able to communicate, since Catherine might not be a weapon, or even if we was Makas Meister.

Catherine let out a sigh.

"I'm your teacher." She said patiently. "Please head inside so I can begin the class."

She huffed. Didn't she know that weapons could only talk to their meisters? Maka only glared, hoping the woman would actually know that. Why teach if she didn't know that basic rule?

Seeing as the weapon didn't feel like answering - or rather, having forgotten, as a witch, something that was only relevant to Weapons and Meisters, Catherine sighed.

Right. She reminded herself. Weapon. Needs a meister.

"Is the Meister of this weapon present?" she called out, really not wanting to use Wavelength Tuning to force herself to be compatible for the sake of a single rowdy student.

Maka looked through the sharp now and sighed. She didn't have a meister, it was her first year. None the less, Maka couldn't speak to the witch.

Seeing the silence respond to her, Catherine sighed and approached Maka, her hand held out and positioned to place itself on the bow.

Wavelength Tuning. She prepared.

Zack sat towards the front of the room. Not the very front but in the third row. He hadn't been paying attention when the teacher came in so hr hadn't heard her request for a miester. He felt something tug on the back of his mind. It was a vague sensation but it was enough to have him turning towards the door. He saw a girl standing with the teacher. He assumed she was the partner he had been told might arrive. "Here."

The moment Zack spoke Catherine stopped and stepped to the side again.

"Please inform your partner that class is beginning soon and that she should take a seat."

The surge of soul energy that had appeared in order to make the Wavelength tuning quietly disappeared.

Maka looked up in the bow toward Zack, her eyes glowing a bright red. She didn't say anything, just stayed there. After a while, she transformed into human form. Interesting. Maka thought.

Zack stood in case is new partner didn't see him. He was 6'4 which made him hard to miss. He indicated to the seat next to him. He figured they might as well sit together. Especially since the seat next to him was open. He studied his new partner curiously. A bow would be an interesting weapon.

It took her a while to open up to Zack, or even smile. As Maka looked up, she was him. Okay. Wow. This guy was tall. With bright hair. Bright red hair. She glanced away for a second, and started to head for the seat without saying anything.

Zack watched as his partner approached. She was small and a big skinny for his tastes. But he tried not to put alot into appearances. He knew that appearances didn't tell you alot the about the person. He hoped that their souls residented well together. He wanted a true partner. Someone he liked and could battle with. Once his partner was seated he turned his attention towards the teacher.

Maka set aside his appearance. She remembered how her mother always said never to judge. She kinda liked his hair though, and she smiled a little. It wasn't a big smile, and it didn't last long. She sat down and gave a small nod in thanks, and watched the teacher.

Joseph let out a hiss as Zack, Maka, and the teacher talked. Should've known that being hungover would make this difficult, but it feels like they're screaming in my ear. Joseph groaned, and pushed his face off his desk, his long messy black hair was hanging over his face, as his red glasses caught the light from the room, to give them a glare. Still, why is class being held up? something to do with those two people I didn't see at the maze? I guess that's the most likely, ugh, I can't believe Griffin isn't even a little hungover, he's got to have serious tolerance. Joseph thought, refusing to believe he just had horrid self control.

Maka glanced at Joseph, a disgusted look on her face. She turned to see her partner, Zack. Are these Gus normal? Like, always hungover? "Are they always hungover like that? It's kinda creepy..." Maka asked, whispering.

Looking at the assorted gathering of students, Catherine sighed before stepping forward and tapping her parasol on the floor.

"Good morning." She spoke. "I am your teacher for soul studies, Miss Catherine Maidenmosel. You may refer to me as Miss Catherine, Miss Maidenmosel or Mademoiselle.

As the NOT class I'm aware that many of you are fine with being shunted off to a support organization for the real warriors, safe behind the barriers of bureaucracy, the emblem of non-violence, the lack of a need to really risk your lives and the contentedness of having gotten something, even if you exerted minimum effort. That is perfectly fine.

My rules for you are lax; I hold no expectations for you in terms of attendance, discipline, punctuality nor performance with the exception of a passing grade on the final exam, no matter how mediocre. The amount of effort, attention and actual care I give to you are exactly the same as the amount you put into my class. Thus, my speech for you ends here."

Tapping her parasol on the ground again, Catherine looked around.

"This next part," she continued, "pertains to those who aim to become part of the Especially Advantaged Talent - the EAT - class."
