@ashevelendarWilliam just arrived at the Headquarters , what he read about the HQ didn't cover even half of what it really was. It was big and looked expensive. William was born to a poor family and so he didn't get many things in life. Always scared of the "monsters" in the shadows , people at school always made fun of him so he stopped talking with most people. When he got older and heard about people with superpowers, he understood what he really was.
Moving around the Headquarters, he didn't know what exactly to do. He knew he should talk with someone, to let them know that he just arrived. He wandered the halls 'till he found an office with a woman inside, he knocked on the door and entered. Bowing his head, he said
"Hello. I'm William. I just arrived. Is this the registration office or something like that?" Wicked smiled and offered him a place to sit down.
"Since Bell isn't the one sending you in I have a lot of paperwork for you to fill out." She handed him a stack of papers about an inch thick.
"You do know who we are and what we do here right?" She turned and then turned back.
"I'm Wicked Frost. I kinda run things around here, if you want to call it that." She kind of laughed and turned back to the phone while he did his paperwork. When she saw that it was finished she mentally called Shiver (angel connection).
"Crap! I'll be back in a few. I gotta show a new person around." Eden nodded. She laughed as Shiver stood up and almost fell over.
"Maybe we should have eaten before we hit the hard stuff." Shiver laughed.
"Maybe. I hope the new guy doesn't mind my bathing suit." "Cheers! Eden said chuckling.
Shiver held onto the wall and gave up and teleported to the office.
"Sorry mom, it was my day off so I am hitting the hooch. What did you need?""New guy needs his room and keys and coms." Wicked moved so Shiver could see him. Shiver looked at him and stepped forward offering her hand.
"Hey, I'm Shiver I'll show you around and get settled."William completed all the paperwork and thought
Damn. It's hard to be a superhero sometimes. After that he waited for Wicked to talk and suddenly a new girl appeared in the room.
Damn she's hot. said William in his eyes. Being a gentleman, as soon as he saw that she's in a bathing suit, he averted his eyes.
He took her hand and said
"Hey there. I'm William. Thanks for showing me around. I'm sorry if I took you from where you were. It looks like you were having fun" with a smile on his face. He didn't look at her body at all, just staring her in the eyes all the time. ( so she doesn't think he is checking her out )
Shiver watched him take her hand and kind of looked at him a little oddly but she smiled and tugged him out into the hall and led him down the hall.
They came to a dead end at the elevators. Pointing to the left she said,
"Down that way is the lounge, kitchen and the terrace." The sign in front of them had a list showing what was on each floor (first page of OOC) it showed that R&D had been moved down to floors 3 & 4 due to too many attacks involving ripping the roof off. Shiver turned right. On the left was the pool and bar and hot tub. There were currently other people there having fun.
Shiver looked at the key and smirked a little.
"Looks like you got the room across from mine." She showed him how to get into his room and then to program it for him only so he didn't need the key.
William was amazed by the sheer immensity of the whole HQ. There were a lot of things, he never seen or heard off. As soon as he heard that he got the room next to her, he said
"Oh'. Ok. Nice, if need be, I can pester you with questions about everything around here." joked William.
She then pulled the comlink out of her other hand and showed him how it works.
"This is your comlink. It is the most important tool you have. It's your communication with the HQ and all of it's members." She showed him how it worked and how it monitored health.
"If there are ever sirens coming from it it means that there is either an attack on the HQ and you must get back here like yesterday to fight. OR it means that an HQ member is dying and in terrible trouble.Your comlink will show you who right here and you can track them here and there you go. Both of these are called "ALL CALLS" and if you don't show I will personally hunt you down and kill you." She smiled but he got the message that this was not a joking matter.
When looked closely at what Shiver did with the door but he didn't understood much and he knew that probably he will have to ask again how to do it if he needed to do it ever again. He took the commlink with interest, he could surely make it explode so he had to take it very slowly and put it in his ear. When he heard the threat , a mischievous grin appeared on his face "
I would like you to try sometimes. I couldn't do it all my childhood " said joking.
"Wicked is my mom. We are angels...and no not in the Victoria Secrets way but in the Creator/heaven/ guardians kind of way. We also have two goddesses here and a bunch of weird other people." Shiver said joking around. She turned to go to the pool.
"Oh! If you ever get injured and you can't heal for whatever reason Wicked is the ultimate healer. Come join us at the pool!" She left him standing in front of his door.
His face became pale when he heard that she's an angel. His mom always told him about angels and what they are and such, but she never said that they actually exist.
"Ok. So mom didn't have her facts right. Angels do exist. And...you may not be Victoria's Angels but you sure look like them." said William trying to smile.
Shiver blushed at his remark.
"I don't think I would be good in a pool. I didn't really learn how to swim. I was afraid that my...powers...won't work there. Never tried it tho'. "
When William got to the pool there was a small group there already. CC and Andi had gotten there too and Eden was well on her way to being drunk. She was very upset about Kieran and Kyle.
Shiver was sliding down the ice slide and she flew into the air off of it and she teleported herself into the pool. She came out of the water and sat next to him making sure not to get him wet. She had a grin as she grabbed one of many towels there and squeezed the water out of her hair and sat back in the chair.
"So, if I were to be unconscious and tossed into the ocean and you were the only one around, how would you save me?"William saw the other people, waved and presented himself. He made sure to stay away from the Shiver when she went out of the pool, to make sure she didn't make a bad joke and throw him into the pool.
He heard her question and answered
"What would I do? Hard question. How deep would this imaginary ocean be? How far off the shore you would be? A lot of variables there. There would be two things that I could do. Either I would use my power to make a big wave in the direction opposite of you that would take you back to the shore or..." he sighed and then continued
"I would use my other power to get to you take you out and come back to shore and hope that I don't drown in the process." said William with a sad smile on his face. He was afraid of water since he almost drowned when he was a child and ever since, tried to avoid it.
"Don't worry William, I'll teach you to swim if you'll let me. Wicked will have you on missions starting tomorrow."William smiled. She was the first person that didn't laugh when she heard that he didn't know how to swim and also wanted to help him learn.
Shiver got a look across her face and she stood up.
"Eden...I gotta go!" Shiver teleported to her room and back in under a second. She was now in her battle gear.
"William! Come on I'll need your help."She teleported to him and took his hand and grinned.
"Don't let go for anything unless you mean to." Shiver's wings popped out of her back and they spanned about 11 feet wide. She teleported them into the air over the ocean to a failing 747 as it was getting ready to crash.
William took her hand and said
"Wow. I haven't arrived here for more than 20 minutes and I'm already on my way to save someone. Sure, let's go. Just...please. No water. " He held her hand and couldn't not smile, soon he was somewhere else.
"Get in there and get as many of them out as you can. I'll try to keep it in the air." Both of the engines were only working at random intervals and not enough to keep it in the air for very long.
As soon as William registered where he was he held Shiver's hand ever tighter and said almost screaming
"I said no WATER!" Shiver didn't had time to finish her sentence and he already teleported in the plane. Mostly because he wanted to feel hard ground under his feet. As soon as he arrived, he heard people screaming for her and the pilot trying to tell people to stay calm. The plane started to fall slower suddenly and knew it was Shiver trying to make it stable.
He soon started going from person to person and teleported them in front of the HQ. First the women and the children then the men and at the end the pilots. It was tiring work but he finally did it, he saved more lives now than he ever did. He never knew that he could use his other powers to save people. He felt happy.
William teleported outside the plane, a few hundred meters higher than it and told Shiver (through the commlink) to catch him.
"Shit! William teleport out I gotta get rid of the plane! I'll meet you at the HQ." Shiver spied land ahead and she couldn't take the chance that the plane would crash into the city ahead. Shiver grabbed the wing on the left side and ripped it off dropping that into the ocean. Moving to the other side she punched the windshield causing the drag to pull the plane back and slow it down. As soon as the other wing was ripped off she turned it around and let it's speed slow it into the water without causing a tsunami.
She teleported back to the hq and the people that had been on the plane were still hugging William. As soon as she showed up her wings disappeared as she got trapped by all of the happy people.
