Azimuth for Dog-Emperor of Mankind. [Beautiful, swelling orchestral version of this song plays]
Because I'm not done with my nation sheet yet. Here's what I've got so far. Name of nation: The Frilluminati. Species: Frilled reptilian creatures with shapeshifting powers. They have used this in the past to infiltrate numerous governments through the history of their race, but they have been inevitably discovered and expelled in nearly all instances of such schemes. Unlike their more successful kin, their distinctive frills, which remain with them regardless of form, always tend to give them away, save for the instances where the race they were emulating already had frills or if they have successfully convinced them that this is merely the latest fashion trend. Description of government: Even among the frilled reptilian kind, their government is ogliarchal. It is ostensibly led by a head of state referred to as the Regno, but he is merely a figurehead and nothing more. Knowledge of the composition of their ruling council is not public knowledge, but definitely includes the movers and shakers of their nation, such as industry heads, high ranking military officers, religious hierarchs and others. The nation is controlled through a "silk glove covering an iron fist" approach. Which is to say, subtle authoritarianism. If the people were aware of how extensively they are monitored at all hours of the day, it is certain revolution would occur, and so this knowledge is hidden from them. Those that become aware of the secret chains that bind them are silently shifted off to asylums and drugged into complacency. Frilled reptilians apply this very same to the power systems unfortunate enough to be coopted by their wicked wiles. The insignias and flags of the Frilluminati often incorporate mastabas, as pyramids were already taken. Description of military: The military exists, but no particular praise can be heaped upon it beyond those initial three words. All branches are anemic compared to their counterparts found in other nations. Underfunded, underloved, it is a woeful skeleton of what it could be. Instead the Frilluminati relies on the transient support provided by their surreptitiously occupied nations for their defensive needs. Infiltrated nations are stirred towards wars convenient to the frilled reptilian race by superb Frilluminati propaganda. The land army and air forces of the Frilled Reptilians still uses incredibly obsolescent weapons and vehicles mostly reminiscent of 21st century human equivalents. Some mileage is still squeezed out of their tanks armed with rocket assisted guided munitions, capable of a staggering 8000 meters of effective range, but this reassures very little in a universe capable of rail technology and worse. Their space force essentially exists for the sole purpose of securing trade routes against pirates, but cannot be expected for force projection or to defend against a full on invasion. An aggressive, potent force it's not. It goes without saying that the Frilled Reptilians naturally have advantages when it comes to military intelligence, sabotage, and commando operations, given their innate shapeshifting abilities, but this does very little to assuage the gigantic gulf between their power and that of any would be adversary. Technological Overview: Conversely to their military technology, civilian technology is at what would be considered golden age heights for any other society. They have focused on building a utopia, rather than a military master race. Popular culture consists of full immersion neuro-link programs akin to videogames. Medical science is capable of squeezing a great deal of mileage out of the frilled reptilian's body, with aging and sickness being mostly curbed. Surveillance technology is, unfortunately, also at its peak. Microscopic cameras line nearly every surface. Nanodrones are in just about every breath of air you breathe. There is no escape from the Frilluminati surveillance state. Cultural Overview: There's a great culture of distrust, naturally. You can't be sure if your wife is really just your neighbour taking her form, or if someone isn't pretending to be you and doing all sorts of jerkish things elsewhere. Human observers have compared the scene to being something out of an absurd and absurdly bad sitcom. The frilled reptilian develops numerous "characters" to play and shift into in order to thwart any compromisation of the reputation of any one of their identities. Acting is an extremely overloaded profession. History: TBA Other:
I shall do so, do not fret. I will commence work on it shortly. I have just had a long day studying biopsychology. PS. For an adherent of Chaos, you sure are a bootlicker.
A new Front Mission that doesn't suck and a War Leaders: Clash of Nations that doesn't suck.
So standards of consistency and quality do not matter if he's the GM? This actually sounds like a rather poorly ran RP if that is truly the case. It's like giving your DMPC in Pathfinder, Wraeththu or Black Tokyo advantages over the rest of the players simply because you're the DM. It's simply not cricket, I feel.
<Snipped quote by Azimuth> That doesn't make them a serious topic. Hell that could be entirely made up. Frankly I don't really care. If you want my genuine advice on your app I think it's a pretty crazy idea and would make a good cartoon or comedy. I don't however think it fits this scenario at all.

Further reading: The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins. Also, a good cartoon? When nations already lifted from actual cartoons have already been accepted into the RP? Sounds like it fits to me.

But memes are a legitimate scientific concept pioneered by Richard Dawkins.
A serious tone? Even though the person behind them was eventually banned? It doesn't seem like you're a particularly great judge of character. Also, I would appreciate more pointers towards how to make a more seriously toned play pretend space man nation.
Wait a tick, it occurs to me you once approved a race of literal Nazi unicorns with magic and what were essentially space u-boats. How is that at all serious?
