Been looking around the AtE wiki and I've got a concept I like much better than the Caribbean Warrior.

Uber spooky New England born Lovecraft occultist covered in strange tattoos and ritual scars who left her home after the Old Ones bestowed a vision on her in the dark of a bitterly cold winter night. They commanded her to "seek" and so she wanders in search of... something. She doesn't know what she seeks yet but she fully trusts in the unknowable, mysterious, and often contradictory guidance of The Ones From Beyond The Stars.

In his mind, anything worth doing is worth doing at the highest level. That perfection is unobtainable is no excuse not to strive for it. He demands the absolute best of himself and will not stop until he achieves it. Spoiler alert, his best is never good enough for him and no one will ever be able to be as critical of Andre as he is of himself. If You Want Something Done Right... Just as the saying goes, Andre must do everything right all the time because he's a perfectionist but he also doesn't trust anyone else to help him. What a fun combination. From his earliest memories he can recall his father and brothers only offering him assistance when they could hold it over his head. Every time someone close to him has helped him they would later point to it as something he was too weak to do himself. Keep Up or Keep Back Andre knows what he's capable of and strives to improve himself constantly; day in and day out. His dedication to knighthood is unshakable and he can sometimes become frustrated with people who "aren't trying hard enough". Simple mistakes and general incompetence never fail to irritate him. To this end he may offer his two cents in his own abrasive way and while his advice is always helpful, the value of it can get lost in his less than tactful delivery. // SKILLSET S K I L L S E T Literature Nerd His reading comprehension is surprisingly advanced for someone so driven to become a martial master. It started with him pouring over old manuscripts of fighting techniques which turned into him reading accounts written by knights of old. This further progressed into him reading grand poems and epics of legendary battles. It's the one non-physically demanding hobby he can enjoy that allows him to lie to himself and say he's actually studying how to be a more effective fighter instead of being lazy by not practicing with a weapon every waking minute. He's actually quite knowledgeable about a large number of battles, stories, and poems from as far back as the post-Dark Age transition. Better Than a Master of One Almost from the moment he could walk Andre was taught to use weapons of war. Swords, spears, and bows with a particular affinity for maces and war hammers. Being a child he has yet to achieve mastery of any singular weapon, he is undeniably proficient with most common weapons. Magical Aptitude: Earth Andre has the ability to shift small sections of the landscape to his advantage and even this small power was hard to earn. Magic did not come as easy to him as other aspects of his training, but through enough determination and grit he has achieved respectable skill. He can raise stone walls to shield himself from arrows, erect pillars to disrupt and distract opponents, and even launch himself a few feet if he raises a pillar directly beneath himself with enough force. Doing these sorts of changes take considerable effort on his part and moving sections of Earth much larger than an average person quickly exhausts him.

Physical Description A younger version of what everyone would expect a knight to be. Andre is tall and muscular, sporting broad shoulders and strong hands. His features are angular with a masculinity more subtle than one would expect given his personality and upbringing. His piercing gaze seems to silently pick apart your every flaw and note them, even ones you don't realize you have. He smiles rarely and only slightly on those precious few occasions, otherwise his lips are pressed into a semi-permanent frown. Andre's voice leans toward a lower pitch but he's still in the late stages of puberty so it will undoubtedly shift even lower with time. Character Conceptualization Andre was born the youngest of seven brothers, three of whom have already achieved the status of knighthood. From his earliest days, Andre was "guided" down his current path by his father and older brothers. His head was filled with dreams of grandeur and stories of knights long dead. He was given everything he needed to succeed and he did time and time again, but he also knew from a very young age that his father's love was contingent on his martial prowess and were it not for that he would be cast aside like his brothers before him who could not rise to the challenge. No matter, he will carve out his destiny to become the fourth Grandbough knight of this generation. After all, how could he not? He's been told all his life how he's destined for greatness and he can achieve everything he's ever dreamed... provided he doesn't stand in his own way. Other Information > He did very well in the initial sparring tournament but was still unhappy with his own performance. > The Grandbough family has quickly gained even more fame in the last decade for producing so many Sentinel Knights and many curious eyes are upon Andre as a result.

@webboysurf I really like that character idea! I had a similar idea for a skilled, non-magical knight but I was planning to take it in the opposite direction of someone very skilled and driven but not as good at playing nice with the other kids. A real "There's no I in team but there's one in winner" type who learns that he cannot, in fact, do literally everything himself and needs to put his trust in others and embrace the power of friendship to succeed
