Tentative interest. I'd like some info on how our characters are meant to be factoring into all of this?

There will be a call sent out from Gondor's High King to gather representatives from each race and country in response to a big push from this new threat. If you don't want to play someone as important as an emissary, you can play one of their attendants/bodyguards. Whatever you want, really, as long as you can find a way to have your character at the meeting. Also, I moved this to advanced to garner more interest, and got more hits, but that won't effect what I'm looking for from players.

I'll post it when I make the OOC, but it won't be a traditional list of traits with a history spot. I prefer something more free-form.

EDIT: Also, with that we've got enough to start. I'll have the OOC up tonight or tomorrow.

Who exactly are our characters? Legendary figures like royalty, or ordinary folk?

Original characters preferred, but if you want to be royalty of some sort, that's perfectly acceptable, just keep yourself within reason. No Glorfindel-ing.

I wonder how we'll implement the eventual encroachment of industry, though, because in Tolkien's works the world is always in a state of decay. For all these threats to have emerged, why did you pick the Fifth Age?

I picked the Fifth because the fourth was canonically pretty peaceful, and I didn't want to go super far into the future for the very reason you brought up- industry. I didn't want to deal with it hahah. However, if you have some ideas regarding developing tech, I'd be interested to hear them. I had some ideas for the Dwarves in that regard, but haven't decided whether to implement them or not.
