@bloonewb I think literally doing so seems well logistically improbable, but figuratively seems more workable :P

Seriously though, I like the idea that William kind of becomes a Varys type character. Seemingly friendly and loyal, and perhaps even helpful; but ultimately has his own agenda.

@Gowi Just once, I think there should be an at-least non-hostile Bolton Lord. Break the vicious cycle.
@Greenie Look forward to reading it!

@bloonewb It's a pretty good sheet, but I have just a few minor quibbles.

1) I think it fits more that Jon would have taken on the Boltons after Stannis had a go, like in the show with the Battle of the Bastards. I can't really see Jon running to Daenerys for help instead of rallying his forces and I find the idea of Bran leading an army well... unlikely to say the least. I feel like the Boltons would have been taken care of before Daenerys landed on Westeros and things ramped up with Cersei. Plus since this is trying to stick to canon, Jeyne should already have been in Stark custody since she ran away with Theon.

2) It doesn't seem likely that the child would have just been sent away with the Starks just hoping for the best. That basically never happens when a child potentially poses a threat. Realistically, he would have been taken as a hostage and raised with the Starks. He might have been given a castle of his own, and this could be that Castle Ethering (I see no reference to it in canon).

3) So he wouldn't have the Dreadfort but he'd still vie for it. Your concept made him seem more like a manipulator than a warrior, so it would make more sense for him to be scheming instead of leading an army. Like he's pretending to be a loyal vassal but he's really planning on betraying the Starks, just like Roose. That's more believable than him somehow suddenly finding out he's a Bolton, somehow proving it to a bank, and than somehow marching an army big enough to besiege a major castle without any warning from the spies the Iron Throne has. It'd also improve his long-term survivablity a lot since I don't think a rogue lone upstart would survive a one-man war against the North and the Iron Throne. Especially since he's supposed to be smart, I think he'd rather scheme than jump straight to conquest.

Alternatively you could have him be more subtly vying for the Dreadfort by trying to get in the good graces of the Starks and Targaryens instead of trying to undermine them or openly rebel. So he might be kind of loyal but also looking out for himself above everything. Also your character can have a sweet ancestral flaying knife.

That's just my thoughts on it, otherwise I think you have a good concept.
@Masterkeun Once you do that, I think you're pretty much good to go and post in the CS tab.

@bloonewb Good to see you, still wanting to work on the Boltons?

@Xyo Still interested in playing?
@Greenie So would your character be involved in all the Iron Island madness or are they travelling?

@Masterkeun It would make most sense for a hostage like Malkor to be sent to live with either the Starks, the Tullys, or even to King's Landing. Even if they tried to be amiable to him, I could see Malkor developing a very personal grudge with Jon.

The Boltons have a familial history of torture, but with Ramsay dead, I don't really know if the tradition would be as strong. It's not like there's some kind of torture gene, that would be something that would depend on their upbringing. And Roose was a sadist but I don't think he tortured noble sons for shits and giggles. Domeric Bolton actually seemed like a nice kid.
Ah I see, that clears it up. Well the sheet implies Malkor was conditioned to hate the Tullys and Starks by the Boltons, but the question remains of why a house known as Frey collaborators would be given a Frey ward? Did the Tullys arrange the deal or did the Freys do so? And if the Boltons and Freys were allies in the past why would they torture him?

Ramsay was crazy enough to do that, but I don't know if the new generation of Boltons would neccesarily be as sadistic or random in their torturing. I don't think he needs to have been tortured to disdain noble families, being born a child of a house beset by scheming and violence would be enough.
@Masterkeun The sheet seems to be really coming together, but if you intend for Malkor to be a POV he should have the same fields filled out as the others. I assume you're collaborating with @supertinyking for House Mudd, but are you also doing so with @bloonewb for House Bolton? I'm not really sure if the Boltons would be given a Frey hostage since they were collaborators, and why the Boltons would torture him.

@Dredigan All I have filled out about Brienne right now is that she's alive somewhere with a sweet new sword, and presumably she's head of House Tarth now since I don't know if there are any other heirs to Lord Selwyn. Other than that, yeah have free reign with her history from the end of the books, and I'm curious to see what you come up with!

@Greenie Did you have any interest playing other Greyjoy characters as well?
@Greenie Interesting concept! I imagine it would be hard for Theon to do so after he became Reek :P

Your equipment doesn't have to be super specific unless you have unique and specialized gear. If it's just general gear, you can just mark the essentials. For characters who don't need much equipment at all since they're diplomats/money men/statesmen the equipment field can just be blank.
@Gowi Well Shireen and Edric seemed pretty good friends so that would seem in character for her. Having Gendry as leader of their armed forces would be neat too.

Your sheet is shaping up pretty well so far.

@Masterkeun Ah I see, yeah the Frey house is quite complicated so it's not reasonable to have you describe the whole surviving family but the significant story ones should suffice. There is definitely enough ambiguity to have other players come in as Freys if they wish. I like the details about Malkor trying to ally with the Mountain Clans. Should prove interesting.

I think all you need to do really is flesh out your mains, especially Malkor out a bit more and clean up the formatting and you should be good to go. I really like your idea, and it's no trouble to give you our input on it. Thank you very much for your diligence and understanding.

@Dredigan The only discrepancy I can see, is one of their holdings being listed as Darry. I had Darry be stripped from the House Lannister and given to a bastard cousin of the House Darry, since it seemed likely to me that House Lannister had to face some kind of fine for Cersei and Tywin's crimes and I think the River Lords would not have liked having Lannisters have land in their region. It also amps up the potential rivalry between the River Lords and the West a bit.

Other than that it looks fine and you can go ahead and put it in the CS tab and keep working on it. Really look forward to seeing what you end up with. Plus you're the Co-GM, you have certain privileges haha.

*fanboy mode* did Brienne and Jaime settle down and have kids?

@Dredigan I second that.

Everyone, to the OOC!
@Gowi Well once you work out a sheet, I think a post once every couple of weeks from you would be fine; as long as we keep getting word from you that you're still interested and still in the game. If you want you could also open up House Baratheon a bit to let other players have minor POVs in the House, in case anyone wants to play one of the bastards for example.

Don't feel obligated to join the game just because, but if you want to go ahead and play I'll tweak some of the backstory once you have your sheet together.
