Crap! One person is already curious and it would be Amelie. She would definitely persist until Keira gave up the information. His face held is pretty unreadable now but in his mind, he’s cursing up a storm and trying to find a way to make this not so awkward.Well this is gonna get complicated. Damn, of all days for this to happen. What the hell am I gonna do here?' At all cost, he had to keep this secret. Why though? He didn't know Keira for very long. Why did he feel he should protect her so damn much? Never mind that! How do-
"I... I'm okay. Don't worry about it,"
Cayde eyes dart over to Keira’s face to confirm if what she’s saying is true. No doubt, she gave it her best. A smile that would fool most but these Knights, their allies, aren’t idiots. His eyes flash a grimace that he tries to cover with his hair.
"I'm okay. Thank you."
Once more he stares to make sure before letting a chuckle leave his lips. “Alright good.”
A soft smile leaves his face before continuing “You kinda worried me there, but if you’re alright, then, I say let's dig into some food! It’s only so much that Cup Noodles can last a guy, ya know!”
Once more his natural enthusiasm takes over and shows his friends in the room that everything's a-okay.Friends? I guess they were now. Weird. A guy like him could have friends. Who would have thought.
Commander Hale sighs softly in response to Aura’s words. She was always pretty stubborn in the past so this was not entirely new to Hale, even still, she hoped this time would be different. Seeing Neil trying to calm down the situation, Hale takes this time to prep up a electronic version of the mission details with more information than she can say aloud. Adding in details like a map and other notes, she receives direct communication from another Commander. Her eyes widen a bit and her facial expressions can’t hide some slight confusion.
The timing of this expression matched Yazmin’s comment about not being sure if she could kill. This snaps Hale out of her thoughts. “Hmm? Oh, sorry.” She quickly finishes up and sends the details to all 4 people involved. “If you check the report, that should relieve some pressure on such thoughts. However, you’ll see why this is a bit … hard to ascertain. As Neil said, you dont have to go in guns ablazin’, but you have to follow the objectives.” She places a tablet down and puts her hands on her hip. “Just don’t get dead. I’ll keep saying that until you all understand.”
She turns and motions to one of the engineers. They scurry past the three, heading toward the hanger, picking up the tablet Hale sat down. “One more thing. Looks like the odds of success increased. We’ve been sent a new pilot straight out of training with Fadio’s blessing. You should know this one Aura. He’s waiting with his Valkinai in the Hangar.”
In the background, the sounds of machinery and mechanics directing could be heard. It’s also hard to miss as a Large Valkinai is placed gingerly in the corner of the cramped base. Looks like a base renovation would be in order soon, or a base relocation. Only time will tell.
“With this, you have 3 soldiers under your command, Aura. If you haven’t noticed already, the mission reports have been sent to all of you with all the answers you seek. If you got anymore questions, come on back in here but otherwise, you’re free to do as you wish until mission time.” Hales stiffens her stance in order to see if they had anymore questions but mostly, she had moved on to other things that needed her attention. The engineer had come back, at this point, and handed Hale back her tablet. The moment it reached her, she started to work.
@Raven_Operative Indeed, I really want to know how they're gonna explain away some of this stuff. Like it feels they're placing core fantasy deep in this war game which can be fine. I'd have to play it myself to see how it all feels
The Captain adjusts his hat before respond to Michi's question. "It isn't a normal vehicle. We have put a shielding that will protect it from projectile fire and explosions. We also have the exterior look pretty normal and run of the mill, from what I'm told. However-" He pauses to look back at the file. Dawn seems to be the person that often has to reference notes. "If you feel you can better protect the VIP within one of your Valk's or other transportation, that should be fine.
He sits the file down before continuing. "This is your mission. I'd work it out with your Captain, here, and the VIP when you link up with him. As for the other question, I can't necessarily say. However, all the things you will need to bring the package safely will be provided at the lab." Instinctively, Dawn reaches for his mug, preparing to drink, only to find that is empty ... still.
A soft sigh leaves his lips before returning to meet with Michi and Gregory. "Does that help you?"
As for Kevin, he found that while trying to create blueprints that he did not have the right inspiration. He had a concept in his mind that he wanted to put down to paper but it was not translating well. He may have to ask other mechanics to help him better next time.
