Since we're gonna a be in the G5, will we be men of questionable moral's? Or was that only a thing with Smoker's men?
@Moonlit Sonata Ran a quick Google search and apparently 3 others ran an RP with the same premise and same title as yours.

Also, found this.

Anyway, I get it. RP's off.
@Spanner@Rune_Alchemist I was actually contemplating on just letting everyone start as different monsters.

@Moonlit Sonata Not sure what you're talking about, but I got this from a friend back at Batoto. Here's the link.

When your soul finds itself in the body of something not human, how will you strive to live? Maybe carve out a peaceful life, destroy the world, or surpass god; the choice is yours.

Once, you were a human. Maybe you were a businessman, a student on their way to school, or a thief who about to swipe a purse. Whatever you were, it doesn't matter now since you're dead.

As quickly as your soul was placed into darkness, about to enter eternal rest, it was pulled back out. It was probably startling. Light and sound accelerated, and your eyes crack open for the first time, but now in a new body.

Sadly, you're a goblin.

Born in a small, abandoned cave in a forest, lacking any knowledge of your geography, you are thrust into the world. While only a newborn, the instinct and basic abilities of your kind are ingrained into you. How to communicate, how to hunt, what you must do to survive, as well as some inherent information to your new world. This is your life, this is your mind. The memories of your previous life, your previous world, they exist but merely as a hazy dream with the conclusion forgotten. With time, sufficient experience and growth will open the option for you to evolve from a little goblin to a different branch of monster, but this will depend on your own ability.

Just one thing sets your batch of goblin juveniles apart from the rest of your kind. A single facet of your souls; a "skill" retained from your past life. Perhaps an affinity for a rare kind of magic, a propensity to lead, the knowledge of a language they you don't recall learning. Will this mistake in the cycle of reincarnation lend you the power to break past your limits, or will you simply fall like wild beasts to the onslaught of the world?

Welcome to the game, and do make it entertaining.

@Infamous Empath You want to play as a hero/villain who was invited to join this new covenant? I'd love to hear more about it.

@Shirochankun@smarty0114@Lauder@Cuccoruler To further elaborate on the magical world...

You know, all modern and shit and yet have that whole “empire and kingdoms” model that is so outdated that not even having cool robot fights can modernize the concept.

That also means pretty much every country is run with a monarch. While democracy has a part in some of these governments, just note that we do have a King of America rather than a President of America, as an example.

Not too complicating, just the whole world suddenly started caring for royalty again. I blame the magicians for that.

I'll have the CS up in a few.

To Whom It May Concern:

As you know, the year is 20XX.

Unknown to most historians, and sadly most of the world, magic is not a myth. Recorded accounts and whatever the hell they stuck in those history books of yours did a good job of disguising the impact of magic upon human history, but it doesn’t prove the whole “wizard and witches are myths” idea.

Now, that was not entirely the fault of historians, because they had been fed facts and sciences that would suggest that just about any living creature in the world held not a single ounce magical ability within their bodies. Such a thing is due to the great finder of our magical order, who made it a point to keep magic and science separate.

Of course, you might be asking that if magic exists in this world, does that happen to extend to the paranormal and other such mysteries? Well, to excite a small percentage of you, magical creatures do exist in this world. All the ghost, monster, and fantastic tales you have heard are most definitely true, and you’re just going to have to accept that – especially when magician relations with such creature can be rather rocky at times.

But, that’s not the truly important part. All that is just history.

Now, in regards to why I am sending out this notice, well, I am in need of people who are interested in forming a covenant with me. Now, for those of you who did not grow up with a magical background, a covenant is something of a home for us wizards, a sanctuary where we can research and experiment in our labs, and have our little goblin and kobold buddies to bring us our meals in silver trays! I don’t believe in slavery personally, but people seem to think we regard such creatures as members of such a foul institution.

Nonsense. These magical buddies get paid a fine salary for their work.

Regardless, I acquired a nice, cozy place for us to return to from our journeys through the various mazes of modern science and crime, but I need companions. Not to say that I’m a lonely man, but to be honest, I am! I have seven assistants, so to speak, but only half of them speak English, and half of that English-speaking number isn’t even human!

Anyways, that is my situation, so I would really appreciate it if any mage, educated or not, in want of a covenant come by my place and possibly consider joining. We’re just a simple covenant experiencing the spring of life, and I certainly don’t want to force you to choose us over a more established autumn covenant or something like that, but I would most definitely appreciate at least being a candidate.

I mean, all of us are descendants of the different houses of the Order, so we’re basically family. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to use magic.

And for the, um, mages out there who are unaware of their powers, I suppose I can send out people to go look for you and bring you here. You’re definitely safer in this house than out there in the world without a friend.

Yours truly,

Lord [Redacted].

Premise

For the general plot of the RP, its basically characters who'll be playing as mages who have been invited into a new covenant. The focus of the story will be the development of the covenant, but the means through which this would be achieved, will be varied. It would depend on what the players prefers to do.

From their on, bits and pieces of what the magical world actually is will be revealed to everyone; so in a way, we'll be having a bit of world building. Possible plots that you have strive for would be improving one's magical capabilities, garnering a reputation in the magical world, attempting to settle in the new life given to you, become some sort of a hero, take on odd jobs, et cetera. Given the premise, we can basically go for almost anything.

For now, I just wanted to find out if anyone would be interested enough to join me in this idea.
I guess I don't have anymore inquiries...for now.

Can't wait for this to get started; gotta begin brainstorming on what character I'm gonna with.
@Leslie Hall Oh, I've been assuming that you were female and just wanted to make sure.

Sweet. Other questions/suggestions? Hmmm. Since we're technically doing "pirates", maybe have extremely powerful mage/pirates that work under the Librarium, like the Warlords from One Piece. In exchange for their pseudofreedom and immunity from the law, they do some of Librarium's dirty work and share a portion of their wealth.

Another would be the use of magical artifacts? Basically weapons, relics, or objects just imbued with magic? I was planning to make use of a character that would have one instead of a type of magic.
@Leslie Hall No worries, dude(tte). Just asking for brainstorming's sake.

As for the bounty hunters and mercs, I was thinking of them more for the plot than actual roles for RPers to take on. Sorry for the misunderstanding!
@Indra Cool, man. How about the presence of vigilante-like characters? Like mercenaries? Or bounty hunters? Also, are we limited to just playing humans or within the centuries that have apparently passed, other races might have surfaced or were discovered?

Just really thinking out loud since I'm kinda getting hyped for this.
