Most vaccines take years - and I mean, like, 7-10 is normal - to develop. The vaccines developed didn't poison people and so despite their limited efficacy, they were sent to market years early.

Considering the status bar usually is fairly comforting, it IS a little surprising it's being so unsympathetic. Can't comment on the actual situation, reminds me too much of a past shitty roommate.

This cannot be happening, on this abandoned and neglected website of all places.

I live in the EST time zone. Due to work, unless I think it's important not to leave someone hanging, I will be off by 11 PM. I will rarely post daily, but I can at least guarantee I'll never give you a substance-less post.

Sorry for the short post, but I didn't want to hold things up or forget my result information. Hoping this will prove useful/informative at least to everyone?

Jeremiah studied the newspaper clipping a while - the man seemed preoccupied before his disappearance? - before realizing he was hogging the clipping and sheepishly passed it on. “An expedition? That doesn’t seem likely.” He was talking more to himself than the rest of the group. Margarete’s words stirred a reminder. Tribes...

“I’ve been on a few, and it’s difficult to plan one without attracting attention. You need supplies, transportation, assistants, and financial support. He might not need the financial support, but the rest is hard to arrange. And the notion he could do so secretively for so long is questionable at best. I’m almost certain the university would’ve heard something - our students are frequently contacted to join all kinds of scientific expeditions, and Miskatonic is one of the larger universities in the area.” True, not all expeditions needed to be allied to a university, or to use university students as assistants, but it was a common practice. “Most expeditions do pair with a university, to help publish their paper afterwards.” And that set the lightbulb off in his mind.

South America!” he exclaimed suddenly, and without context. That came a second later: “Most of his work’s been with South American tribes and lost cultures. He actually did quite a bit of work regarding the legend of Eldorado, though his findings were sadly inconclusive as to its existence.” His voice had grown quite animated. “His last expedition was in 1923 to Peru, to study the local tribes and ruins, and, it’s really quite odd, he never wrote anything about it. At least, nothing public. There were no papers, no travelogues, no mentions in newspapers. He hadn’t done anything since that expedition. I do have to wonder what he found there. Or perhaps didn’t find.” He seemed to realize how he was acting and withdrew on himself. “I still doubt he went to prepare for an expedition. But it does make me wonder, what has he been doing since then? Especially to make such a sudden disappearance take so long to report.” He seemed very awkward, managing to fold in on himself a bit.
@rivaan For once I'm practically caught up on my posting so doing well. You?
@Candykane Trying to figure out what you can determine from their brief interaction. Mitra seems unhappy with his deal, so an extreme method may be to rework or free him from his deal. More likely, performing actions for other, non-Wild factions would probably get some kind of debt from him.

As for mind, rolled a 6 @rush99999
Mitra

Mitra takes the jacket and gun with a grunt. "You can't choose what your visions say." He pauses, eyes Kendra with some skepticism, and then shakes his head and slithers over to Misty. "If you're leaving, I have a message before you go." He pulls the scroll out of the jacket and hands it off to her. "I think the powers of darkness have already found you. Take it from me, the deals aren't as glamorous as they seem." As if for emphasis, all the eyes below his waist blink independently of each other. "Also, if you could point me to a corner where I can hide and regrow my legs for the next five minutes, I'd be much obliged." It's clear he's not being that serious about feeling obliged, but says it out of habit rather than a promise of a debt.
As funny and amusing as I find Candy's idea, when I wrote Mitra's transformation, I did not expect the police to show up before I could have Mitra collect his old skin and clothing back. As such, to prevent the police from finding a whole human skin with clothes, I think the magic pants (with the way the clothes 'evaporate' and reappear) trope is the way to go for now. Gotta establish that precedent anyways as to how things work, yeah?

They might be referring to this.

What Fellsing said. Namely the "They may lose them during the Transformation Sequence, but once the dirty work is done, they'll appear back in them often right where they were standing." part since otherwise his clothes are outside at best.
@rush99999 can I use the magic clothes trope to get Mitra redressed or nah?
Mitra

Mitra drops the pieces of the compass, his other hand dragging down across his face. Were it not for his scales, he likely would have left significant claw marks. "Christ." He looked at Misty. "What'd you do to be on his bad side? Besides exist." The Hunter seems to really have it out for Misty, judging by his parting words and the fact that it wasn't even her who ultimately ruined the compass.

He seems to come to a realization, though, and moves over to Kendra. "First, jacket and shotgun if you don't mind. Unless you feel like explaining those to the police. Second, you need to get a story straight and get out there before they come in here and see a ghost and a demon." Already he's looking around for hiding spaces. After all, it's not like the entire police force is familiar with the supernatural beings roaming their city, and even those who are aren't guaranteed to be friendly. If there's a Hunter among them, Mitra's in trouble and the spirit is probably screwed. Ghosts aren't his wheelhouse either, but he can tell she's badly injured. One more bad blow from someone with ill intentions would - could ghosts even die again? Or would something else happen? Mitra doesn't know and doesn't care to find out.

Grace: And yet…it makes so much sense now!!! He’s not taking time to reason with anyone probably because he’s blinded by the desire for vengeance!!!

Mitra: Nah, I'd bet money the guy's still alive. A living asshole grafting pieces of the supernatural to himself like temporary tattoos.
