Something I noticed when I searched for the spambots:

* With tytyu97, the user is already appearing at the top of Google's search results. I never knew Google would be so fast with their indexing.

* Tytyu97 also seems to be attacking other forums, though we can't see its posts.

* The English-styled names such as standingkoo are marked as spambots by stopforumspam.

* I don't know any of this will help, but just thought I'd post it anyway in case helps in any sleuthing/countermeasures.
@SilverRain Ah. Actually I mean the post this bot had generated was in Chinese, about university degrees.

By the way I'm Chinese. How can I not recognize and understand my own mother tongue? XD

Ah I see - well I guess this means we'll soon be seeing Japanese, Malay and everything. Is that when I can break out my Bingo set? :P

If North Korea isn't bad enough, here comes China:

Still Korean - I googled Zhang Ya and it brought me to a Korean girls photo page. It loaded halfway before I panicked and pressed back in case it's charging me for access. Is that how pay-for-access sites work?
You can check out this link for more spambot discussions as this thread is for reporting only I think. .

The linked thread goes through what was discussed last time and the measures taken. :)
My only guess (which is a bit far fetched), is that they somehow want to influence Google's search engine. I recall some years back that particularly enthusiastic people were able to change Google's results by swarming it with the wrong links. E.g. Searching for "Easter" gives Easter egg results. But they could keep on clicking, say, "Kitten" results and eventually, Google will show kitten results for Easter.

Later on, Google updated their algorithms. They now provide results for that which is most linked to. If I search "Butterfly", Google will show me a helpful wiki about butterflies because that is what most people have linked to. Google ranks searches by their reputation through the number of places that have linked them.

I think that's what the K-bots are doing here. They link to casinos, so if someone searches for Korean casinos, Google will see the massive number of links on our site and thus say "Xyz. com" is a good Korean casino.

At least that's what it looked like based on a computational algorithm article I read some years back. Google might have updated their algorithms since, and so may have spammers.

Why the fuck are we still dealing with these Bots? Shouldn't someone put in more defenses to get rid of these guys once and for all? Jeezus they're just so god damn annoying...

(I'm pissed in case you guys are wondering)

And its always when the Mods aren't online to deal with them!

There are defenses, but the K-bots broke through. I think if the mods know they can just sift out the newly signed up spammers. It's currently around 8 am Korean time, so maybe that's when their scripts start running? If Mahz wants, he can turn off registrations to stop the influx.

Turret: Kill-mode activated.
*Whoosh* To the front page! Away, K-bots! Away! :P
Okie dokies guys. :) I'll be around if you need me for anything. *salutes*
