The Field marshal rose and walked towards the indicated gates. The first was eliminated as a possibility right away as it was unlikely to have any black powder. The second, however, sounded like a much better idea. He wasn't entirely sure about anything to be honest but always believed that action was better than inaction. This decision was made on the move and he continued walking straight into this 'modern fantasy'.

She looked around shyly, halfheartedly looking for an escape but none presented themselves. At least she had left Fid at home, it would have been bad to have been found out so easilly.

"Sure..."

She really needed to pick up groceries but that could wait. Almost at random she pointed to an italian resturaunt that looked like it might serve pizza. She still hadn't gotten over the craving from the night before.

"How about there?"

The had to move fast so he lifted Hoshiko up onto his back and scaled the building. It would have been nice if he could have jumped that high but it just wasn't possible in his human form. On the roof he put the girl down and turned to survey the disturbance with his own eyes.

"Stay here."

He began to walk across the roof, in the instance between one step and the next he changed, seemingly instantly, into a massive wolfhound. A low, rumbling growl emanated from him that reverberated in the chest like the bass at a concert. He picked up the pace and leapt to the next building.

— Shrine —

Things started to go badly before he could get much of a look at wherever he had ended up. This sudden, even steeper spiral was heralded by the arrival of a giant skeleton. Donald was starting to regret not taking at least Hsien with him. One of the smaller undead approached him and he pulled the pistol out of his coat pocket, backpedaling several steps.

After a moments consideration, he fired, beheading it in a spray of bone shards with a neat shot through the spine. The old man didn't think that a mere hole in the skull would stop them. Over his shoulder he spotted several people at the shrine and he calmly walked over and entered it, pistol pointed casually up towards the ceiling.

"I don't suppose anyone has more of an idea about where we are?"

— Way up there —

Blitz sighed, looked the man in the eye and opened his mouth as if he were going to say something.

Then he let go.

"Woops"

For a second he briefly considered letting the fall end in a typically messy fashion. But Blitz had more questions. This fellow had to be a Himura then and someone had led them to believe that the Wireforts were behind the attack. Maybe the intent was to start a war. It only took another second to catch up and catch his prisoner so that the interview could continue.

"So who told you that the Wireforts were involved?"

The moment gravity took hold of him, the man cried out with a blurred mess of slurs and screams, abruptly ending with a, "Shit!" just as his leg was grabbed hold of again.

"What the fuck man! I'm not fucking hiding anything from you! The Himura's were hit and then we were hit! Only the Wireforts have that set of grudges!"

He shook the man a little. So someone other than the Himuras was hit.

"Interesting, but if they have that sort of capability, why hold back at all? And they only had a skeleton crew at best on the gate, not what you'd see if they were gearing up for a war. It's just bad luck for you that we happened to be paying them a visit."

"The fuck are you guys anyways? You're not Wireforts, that's for sure," he said, tone still riddled with anxiety.

"That's right, we're not." He didn't exactly want to say enough to lead back to Cafe Thaza and the Cleaners. "But we want to find whoever hit you guys as much as anyone."

Maybe trying to appear to be on their side would help. If only they hadn't killed a bunch of his friends…

"Why were you at the Wirefort's then? We could've taken them down ourselves! We deserve our revenge!"

"Trying to get a meeting with their boss to actually ask him instead of just attacking. You know, diplomacy."

He thought for a second.

"And I doubt you would have gotten past the front door. Did you see how fast those Policus drones showed up? You would have been put down like dogs in the street and the Wireforts would have been the ones getting revenge against you. Now think. Who would benefit from a war between your three groups?"

The man was clearly following Blitz's line of thinking, because he fell silent for a moment rather than dismissing what he was throwing down.

"That... makes sense. But the Policus don't resort to shit like this!"

"Think. Who else would want the Wireforts, Himuras and your guys at each others throats. Because it looks like the Policus might just be another pawn like you."

Except for someone like Blitz, of course. Conflict always meant big profit to the ones selling the tools of war. He hadn't entirely written off any of the three groups as a suspect either. If someone would resort to this level of violence he wouldn't count out the idea that they would kill off some of their own.

"I don't know anyone else man! The bigger brotherhoods don't give a shit about us, so there's only Policus that could benefit from us being wiped out. But like I said, this isn't how they operate!" Clearly the man was beginning to lose his patience again, as he started struggling once more. "Now settle me down safely. This shit is all I know!"

This guy didn't seem to know anything else. Blitz flew him down to a building and then took off again before turning his radio back on.

— Reonite Shrine —

As much as it pained him to, Indrau dismounted a distance from the shrine. Horses were too noisy and would give away any surprise they might have. He followed Tyeathe to the shrine but kept his distance, standing sentry with an eye towards the other shrine and a hand on the hilt of his blade.

"Could Tiral attempt another scrying? It would be useful to see what we were getting into before going in."

— Candaeln —

Things began to get very busy as she arrived. It also appeared that this other visitor was also looking for someone. She followed this newly arrived group, curious about the kind of person that would arrive with such an entourage and proceed to be so demanding. Eventually she heard the name of the Sunfield family, something that she recognized only through the letters that she had been receiving. These letters had only made mention of a single Sunfield daughter, no son. It was obvious that he was not one of the knights of Candaeln, or any other kind for that matter.

She grabbed the boy by the back of his jacket and lifted him until his eyes were level with hers and his feet were nearly his own height again off of the floor. It also offered him a much better view of the room and saved her the effort of having to bring herself down to his level. Despite her face being hidden behind the helmet the eyes that were visible didn't look at all angry. At least not as angry as the knight that had confronted him.

"There appears to be many empty chairs here. I expect that the Captain might be out. A pity. I had business with her as well."

Salz paused for a second.

"Are you a brother of Sult Sunfield?"

— Koumi Shrine —

Donald sat on a bench with a cup of some sort of hot drink that he wasn't entirely sure of the name of. The old man had long since moved away from the choking crowds and now sat on a bench that gave him a good view of the sky. For several minutes he entertained the thought of taking the area around the shrine as his own. It was a mere idea though, and such a thing would perhaps ruin the atmosphere. The old man took a sip of the drink and looked back up at the sky before soon drifting off to sleep.

He awoke to a sky that was entirely unlike the one he had been gazing at. It took a second for his sleep addled mind to realize that it wasn't just the lights from the festival or the fireworks but that Donald wasn't where he had been before. He stood up, dropping the, now cold, drink on the ground. He put a hand into his pocket and turned his back on the sky to face the shrine. Well there was no point in panicking and little chance of rescue so it would be best to find out what was going on for himself.

The man walked towards the shrine with a faintly bemused expression on his face, humming thoughtfully to himself.

Just a normal human. Nothing suspicious at all here.
