Legacy: Sargon the Sorcerer/Sargon the Sorcerer II
WW II Predecessor: Sargon the Sorcerer
Name: Marcus Sargent
Alias: Sargon the Sorcerer
Relationship to Predecessor: Son of Sargon the Sorcerer II, Great Grandson to Sargon the Sorcerer
Age: 28
Powers/Skills/Equipment: Marcus possess the Ruby of Life which grants him the ability to control and reshape what he touches. He is also a skilled sorcerer allowing him to perform amazing feats as long as he has enough time to perform the required spell. Before inheriting the Ruby of Life Marcus tried his hand at stage magic. Nothing like what he is known for now, but rather sleight of hand, midsection and the normal assortment escape artist stunts.
Weaknesses: He is no more durable than a normal human and his spells take varying amount of time to cast making some of them unviable during actual combat.
Appearance:

Predecessor's History: David Sargent, the second Sargon, dropped out of college and became a drifter. The man lacked in real direction in his life. While drifting he was sought out by the Ruby of Life, guided by his grandfather, in hopes that he would follow in his footsteps. David kept to mystical emergencies rather than dealing with normal criminals or even the war in Europe until he sacrificed himself in hell to allow several other heroes to escape the pit. It wasn’t until after his death did he become aware that he had gotten a woman pregnant during his time as a drifter. So, much like his grandfather before him he sent the Ruby of Life to the last of the Sargent line so that Sargon would live again.
BRIEF Bio: Marcus lived with his mother and knew nothing about his father or his ties to the supernatural. Early life was simple and as happy as it could be with a mother devoted to making more of herself and certain that she didn’t need any help from a drifter to raise her son. That was until Marcus was nearly ten years old and he was woken in the middle of the night by a ruby floating above him as he lay in bed. It told him about his great grandfather and then his father after that. It spoke of World War Two, monsters, demons, Nazis, hell and even the nature of sacrifice. His great grandfather was trapped in purgatory and his father would never be free from the pits of hell, but now it was his turn to choose. Would he take up the ruby and do as those two damned men had or would he turn and hide from his responsibility as his grandfather had done?

His mother hadn’t needed any help raising a son that would do the right thing and somedays she regretted that. Marcus had accepted the Ruby of Life and went on a journey of discovery. Discovery of the self, horror, power, responsibility, and above all else, sacrifice. He learned many lessons as a teen and Europe burned under the heel of Master Man. As much as he wanted to help the European countries he knew he wasn’t ready. Even when the war had finally come to America he wasn’t sure he was ready, but now he was out of time and it was time to join the fight.

Additional Notes: Like his father before him the Ruby of Life is imbedded in his chest.
Edited my post to include @smarty0114 because I missed their post by mistake.

Now what was he supposed to do now? He didn't see anyone he was close to mostly because he really wasn't close with anyone. Sure, there were people he would to talk to during class or even have lunch with on occasion, but he wasn't really friends with any of them. There were several reasons for this, but what it boiled down to was that he got on peoples nerves so he often would move from group to group before anyone got annoyed enough of him to tell him to leave. Which was fine with him for the most part, really it was. He just needed to find some people who would tolerate him during the festival and hopefully avoid that senior that chased him from the parking lot. The more he thought about it that last part was probably going to be the most important thing he could do that day. The last thing he needed was another excuse for Nasrin to prove to him that was ready to have him in her life now. That would just ruin his week. “Who's big enough, but won't hit me?” He asked the air.

So, if he needed someone that would keep people away form him... Well, the giant Clyde was probably his best option, but the soft spoken big guy was an easy target for his jokes and chances were he would have to deal with an irate Abbie if he didn't keep his mouth shut about how quiet the large teen was, which he probably couldn't do. “I don't think that's how I want to start the year,” he said to himself as he considered his options. The last thing he needed was to get his ass kicked by her before school got to a proper start. There were other options as well, but the longer he lingered around the bleachers the more likely it was that he would get caught by the senior if he started looking for him with the rest of the freshman. Ready or not Maz would have to just dive into the festival and hope for the best.

He went by some of the stalls where they were selling food and grabbed himself a lemonade and absentmindedly ate pumpkin seeds he kept pulling of his pocket. Sure, Arrowsmith wasn't the larges place and there were only so many students around, but Maz wasn't tall and if anything the guy had probably stopped looking for him when he lost him in the crowd. Really he was starting to think that everything was going to be fine and went to off to check out some of the games. It was at this time he made a startling discovery. At first he hadn't been sure of it, but Maz stopped and stared for a moment before approaching the girl holding a balloon tiger. “What is this? Jesus, if someone had told me that this was what sweet Cassandra would wear to the first day of high school I would have called them a liar.” He slurped from lemonade from his cup as he walked a small circle around Cass and looked her over. After inspecting her new look he stopped in front of her and lightly clapped his empty hand against his wrist. “Your shirt says fuck, I don't think I've ever even heard you say fuck. Can you say it for me now?”

He had been so stunned by how much she had changed that he hadn't even noticed Jacob was there as well. "Can you believe this, man? It's like Cassandra decided she wants to be Billy Idol when she grows up." He didn't actually know Jacob too well, but that never really stopped him from talking to people and he doubted it ever would. That and it seemed like the guy was kind of touchy about what people said about his brother and smart money was that it wouldn't take long before he said something about Caleb and Jacob would take it out of his hide.

Maz was awake when his alarm went off at 5:30. The teenager was sitting at his desk working a his picks in a lock when his cell phone let out a shill cry to let him know it was time for him to get ready for school. He reached over and tapped the large red button on the screen and let out a groan. Summer had past all too quickly and he was finally going to high school. “Yay, mandatory education.” It's not so much that he really minded school as he just didn't want to give up all of the free time he had. Still, there wasn't anything he could do about it so he took a quick shower and after that dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a bright red t-shirt along with green sneakers.

Breakfast was french toast that he had made himself and uncomfortable silence when Nasrin joined him at the table to drink her coffee before she left to wherever it was she worked. He knew she was a lawyer of some kind, but that was as much as he cared to learn. Once he was fed, in addition to being showered and dressed, he filled one of the pockets of his jeans with pumpkin seeds before grabbing his messenger bag and helmet. The helmet was for his moped, no where near as convenient as his father's car, but something about riding the moped amused him immensely. This was likely his habit of yelling 'meep meep, motherfucker' when ever he rode it around town.

He enjoyed that pseudo war cry of his twice on the way to school and once in the school parking lot when an older student took too long lining up their car while parking. Maz took a space right beside the older student and the two of them exchanged a few more words. This ended with Maz insinuating that the guy fellated a goat to get his license which led to the guy chasing him across the parking lot hurling insults all the way. Luckily for Maz he had managed to lose the guy in the crowed of students on his way to the bleachers so rather than a black eye all he had to contend with was being out of breath when he joined the rest of the freshman on the bleachers.

“What a wonderful way to start the year.”
@MissCapnCrunch I know someone who wants in, is it cool if she joins?
