No one really how the world had come to be this way. We had all heard the stories of a peaceful world but it had gotten to the point where no one ever believed it. A fairy tale we told our young to believe in a better world to strive for. But no one past the age of ten believes that anymore. The world was to dark to think something so childish. The world was tarnished and torn asunder by creatures beyond our beliefs. It's been several millennia since these creatures were said to have invaded and embarked on a world wide assault. It's wasn't long before the human race was near extinction.

We all thought everything was lost, simply bunkering down and awaiting our inevitable demise. But something happened. A gift from God some thought. But what we did know for sure is we had found a way to fight back. Certain individuals around the world began to show the ability to access awe inspiring powers. With this we could finally fight back. No one to date knows if they questioned why this happened. But it has become accepted knowledge that it was probably the foreign matter introduced to the air when we were invaded and reacted in certain blood types.

We were finally making a foot hold against these creatures. Able to fight back their assaulted and eventually bring the fight to them; when we began to understand our abilities a little better. We came to realize these special individuals could create blood ties will others. Though some have died, unable to withstand the strain it has on the body. But those that lived were able to access these unique abilities; though the power of these abilities were finite. The more people accessing this bloodline ability the weaker it became.

After years had passed and Humanity has regained its footing and established safe zones those with these bloodline traits created clans. Giving access to their blood line trait so when they became old or injured, someone could fill their shoes. These clans began as a small group of only two or three individuals. But today clans have grown quite large, or at least some are. Because these powers have a finite amount of power they learned that with each person added to the bloodline the power grew fractionally. So some took this as adding a bunch of members to their clans while only leaving access of these abilities to the elite; while giving protection to their lower members.

Now these clans have one purpose in this new world. To hunt and rid the world of beasts. The elite of the clan have been primed and trained for that simple reason since birth. Some singularly focused, others more rounded raising. But all with that purpose as their old goal. To send a new generation out into the sundered world to combat these grotesque beasts.

So this is the concept I had. I am still world building and ironing out the finer details. But it will pretty much be a beast hunting RP with character progression and a search for better understanding what is really going on beyond what we were told. We will all be playing characters of separate clans within a Safe Zone.

What I am looking for:
-No more than a total of 10 characters.
-High-casual writing. At least one solid paragraph but more is always appreciated.
-Well thought out characters.
-People eager to be involved in this world we create together. Anyone is welcome to help develop this world we are placed in.

Worldly Details:
-These abilities could really be anything. Though nothing to Godlike. I want these powers to be well balanced and thought out.
-The monsters of the world are fierce, grotesque beasts that roam freely outside the safe zone walls. No place beyond the wall is safe. Not land, sea or sky.
-The world has been shaken back to pretty much the dark ages. Firearms have all but been lost to time and transportation has reverted back to horse back, camels and tamed beasts. Though tamed beasts are notoriously rare.
-For the most part the world is pretty much a dust ball. Vast scorching desert. Over the years we have evolved and became capable of surviving the thin air and extreme temperatures.
-Through evolution darker skin tones have become the norm. Most people have dark tans given the scorching environment. Fare skin tones are considered rare and exotic; viewing those blessed with such as inherently beautiful. Fare skin is often seen as a symbol of purity and usually inducted into churches and raised as Priests/Priestess'. Though there are always exceptions to this.
-Though clans are an important part of the safe zone they are not the only inhabitants. In fact, in the past hundred years commoners have actually exceeded in number. The safe zone has become a rather prosperous place. Land finally beginning to harvest food, green houses started to produce flora. Things have started to look up for humanity. But most still expect tragedy.
-Races: Okay so races are a bit left to the imagination. Though I don't want to say like the stereotypical races of "Human, Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, etc." This is something you will have to create if you want to employ something different then "Human". So through the introduction of these new monsters several millennia ago and the strange matter they brought with them. I explained how these particles had given early humans these powers. But in very rare some bloodlines began to develop differing physical traits. Now these traits are rare and usually shared by those in a Bloodline Clan. But over the millennia and interbreeding Clans and Civilians these traits had become less "Clan only" and simply developed a different "Race" of sorts. Now, if you choose to be among some of these rare genetic alterations Please explain what exactly makes your race different then human. Though all races are Humanoid as that is their base genetic code.

Uhmm.. That's all I can think of mentioning right now. Feel free to ask questions and I would love to answer them. Or offer ideas. Either way! Hope to find some interest.

For now I am going to leave it as is. I will be continuously adding more world information as it is developed. Whether on my part or through character creation or group discussion. Well the primary personality trait of Nyla is ditsy and gullible. I just usually associate that with being clumsy as well. Head in the clouds and all.

Nyla is a ditz. She is constantly tripping over something or blurting out something stupid without realizing it. A lot of people think she is quite dim-witted. And they would not be wrong. She can be convinced of just about anything. The moon is made of cheese? She might deny it for a bit, but in her head she will be considering its validity. If the subject is pushed she will eventually cave and believe you until proven otherwise. But beyond that she is a sweet carefree girl. Fiercely loving and loyal to a fault. The poor girl has no sense of personal space or appropriate behavior in public. She has no problem loving up on someone for any reason no matter the circumstances.

Abilities:

Nyla is a support class mage. She uses holy energy to bolster her allies and heal injuries. She has little to no offensive ability. Despite her ditzy disposition while her abilities are needed she finds a way to harness enough focus to be an asset to any party she is in.

• Healing Light ~ This was the first ever spell she was taught. It's rather basic, for holy magic, but difficult to perfect. Nyla is nowhere near a master, but she is proficient. How is ability works is by constantly channeling restorative energy into her hands which emit a radiant light. While her hands are hovering over an injury the energy will begin to seep into the injured individuals body and help it heal the wound. Though this does take a bit of time it is much faster than healing on their own.
• Transfer Pain ~ This supportive spell is cast on a target. This cannot be cast on herself. The target's pain receptors are dampened and the pain is then transferred and taken into Nyla. Nyla won't take the actually damage, simply transfer the pain to herself. Though this causes no physical damage to her it is pain to different degrees depending on what level of pain she is taking. This ability also requires a tremendous amount of focus. If the strain becomes to much she could possibly faint and the target would then begin to feel the pain once again.
• Shimmer ~ Nyla emits a bright light from her body in all directions. Anyone looking her direction would become disoriented and blind for a few seconds. Eventually with practice Nyla will be able to shoot this blinding light directionally. Maybe even some day using it as an offensive tool.
• Sooth ~ Nyla is actually able to calm a frantic mind. Either soothing anxiety or fear, etc and bring them to a calmer state. With more practice she will be able to calm wild animals.
• Over Drive ~ One of Nyla's my powerful skills. Nyla is required to get into a meditative state and focus all her thoughts to one target. Doing this bolsters her targets physical and magical capabilities. Making the target faster, stronger, more intelligent, produce stronger magic. They simply become the best versions of what they are capable of. This only lasts as long as Nyla remains conscious and channeling. During this state Nyla has no cognition of her surroundings. Her one and only focus is on the target she is blessing. This ability puts tremendous strain on Nyla and she can't keep it active longer then a few minutes. Any longer she is at risk of passing out or worse.

Notable Equipment:

She has a pet squirrel she affectionately named Kuzie. She is rarely seen without him, and when Kuzie is not seen it probably means he's sleeping in one of her pockets. Nyla believes that Kuzie is her guardian angel. There to watch over her. She is very protective of Kuzie.

Traits:

While in combat Nyla seems to have an uncanny knack for avoiding danger; unceremoniously.
Nyla also seems to have rather high stamina. Able to take quite a bit of damage and still able to stand.
High constitution and spirit.

Nyla was born an Orphan in a church. She grew up with many other children of varied ages. She was constantly teased by the children her age for being dumb. She was constantly tripping over herself and covering herself in bruises and scrapes. But it seemed nothing could tarnish the girls sweet spirit. She was always still sweet and kind to everyone. Given the environment she spent most of her time with the Priestess'. Watching them in awe. How their magic was so pretty and magical. For a time longer than she cares to admit she believed they were angels of some kind. Blessed creatures sent to this world to shine a bright, beautiful light on its dark corners. This was the main reason she followed their example.

Nyla, while alone at night, could always be seen hiding off somewhere and trying to mimic the Priestess'. Doing as they did over and over until she got it right. Even though it never produced anything magical as she never learned how to properly harness any sort of power. Despite Nyla's attempt at secrecy a Priestess took notice of her. For a while the Priestess simply watched in silence. Joyed by the young Nyla's purity and innocence. But eventually the Priestess decided if Nyla was this serious about learning she might as well learn correctly. To Nyla's surprise the Priestess came to her during her nightly practice sessions. She was embarrassed but it was soon squashed with excitement upon hearing the news. She was going to learn! For real! No longer her fruitless attempts. But to actually learn from a Priestess. Nyla eagerly agreed.

Nyla's klutzy nature was no asset in her learning. It took her much longer to simply learn the basics. But no matter what she tried. Harder than any other. She put everything she had into her training. She was tireless and unwavering. Every free moment she spent learning and adapting. It took time but eventually Nyla learned and she became rather accomplished. Upon her eighteenth birthday she was a free citizen. Given the option to stay in the church she declined. She wanted to travel. She wanted to go around the world and help those in need. And that's exactly what she did. She hasn't been back to see her Master yet. But she thinks of her constantly.

Uh... I don't think Deadpool-esque personalities work in text-based RPs, honestly. He leans a bit more towards visual comedy and erratic activity, which doesn't quite translate well into text.

lol I'm not trying to say the character is going to be a carbon copy of Deadpool. I am just trying to give reference to his kind of "insane". His insane is more directed in the line of Jokester and not the "Put the lotion on its skin" kind lol

I know this isn't helping my "My characters not deadpool" argument but I have written deadpool characters in several other RP's. I enjoy writing the wacky, odd ball characters and plus have gotten quite a bit of experience in it. If given the chance to see if the characters works in IC setting I would truly appreciate it. To just be given the chance. But if we get started and you aren't feeling the character, I can simply have him ride off into the sunset, straddling a big ol' land turtle. No harm, no foul. I would just hate to scrap the character simply because you don't believe I can't portray him well in IC.

P.S. I am gonna be working on my second character now just in case (if you permit it) Taliir doesn't work out in the IC so I have a back up. I am gonna make the support character I mentioned seeing as there are a bunch of fighter types now.
