Jacob was a bit suprised, to find out he had fallen asleep. He didn't see Elliot anywhere in the room, with a groan he sat up. Pulled on his shirt and boots, he didn't know where to go so he found himself in the gym. He started punching a punching bag letting all his frustration out.

Elliot sat, curled up, on the bench on the roof, looking out on the city. She sighed and placed her forehead against her knees. She had fallen asleep with Jacob and for the first time in a long time had a nightmare. She woke up in the middle of the night and could find the will to go back to sleep. To face the images again. So, she had gotten on her shoes and coat and went to the roof. Her eyes were red from crying and there were dark circles under her eyes. All together, she looked like a mess. She sniffed rubbed her eyes trying to calm down.

Jacob got done with his training, sweat covering the collar of his shirt. He was wondering where Elliot was, then it hit him. He went to the roof, "Elliot? You up here?" He asked, he was scared at what Elliot might have down to herself, but he kept the fear out of his voice.

Elliot looked up when she heard Jacob. She spotted him and tried to find her voice. She had been up there a couple hours, alone and in silence. She was shaking from the cold but she didn't want to leave. It had even rained a little bit earlier, leaving her hair stuck to her face as she curled up on the dry spot she made on the bench. She nodded, "Over here..." She spoke quietly but she was sure that Jacob would either hear her or see her. She felt like she had probably been sitting alone for long enough...

Jacob heard her, and let out a sigh of relief. He walked over to her, "hey you alright you weren't by me when I woke up which isn't usual for you Ellie." He sat next to her on the bench, the collar of his shirt was still soaked and some strands of his hair was in his face.

Elliot leaned against him but didn't look at him, "I couldn't sleep... I had a nightmare," She practically whispered as though it were some kind of secret, "I almost... forgot what they were like...." She rubbed one of her eyes, she was tired but just couldn't do it..., "I didn't want to wake you or just lie there anymore... so I came up here around three..."

She sighed and placed her head against his shoulder, burying her face in the crook of his neck, "I've just been sitting here since....."

He put his arms around her, "it's alright Ellie. I'll always be here for you when you need me, just try and get some rest alright I'll be by your side I won't leave you if you need me you know that, and you could've have woken me and told me you had a nightmare I would've stayed up for an hour getting you to calm down." Jacob said, as he tightened his grip around her.

Elliot curled up into Jacob. She moved to allow her legs to rest across his lap. She was still shaking as he held her tighter, telling her to sleep. She shook her head, "You were sleeping soundly and I know that used to have a lot of nightmares and... I didn't want to wake you up because of mine... Just like you wouldn't."

She didn't close her eyes, "I don't want to sleep... What if the nightmare comes back? I don't want to have to go through that again..."

Jacob let out a sigh, "still you need to get some ready alright I won't force you to sleep, but you still need to get some rest. I don't need you pushing yourself, and we need our best medic at her best alright Ellie. Just get some rest though, without you getting any sleep your making me worry about you."

Elliot smiled softly when he called her their best medic. She shook her head slightly, "I'm not the best... We have actual doctors here..." She sighed and closed her eyes, relaxing. She clumped Jacob's shirt into on hand as she sat there, "I'm sorry for worrying you...."

She bit her lip, she was getting tired, she was terrified of what her brain might do. She swallowed, "If I seem to have a nightmare... at all... wake me up... okay?" She begged him. She didn't care what it was that she did, she didn't want to be trapped in another nightmare. Her hand that clutched his shirt as the sleep that she had been holding off washed over her.

Jacob nodded, "I will Elliot you know I will I won't let you go through those nightmares." He picked her up, and started walking toward their room, the halls weren't as crowded as they usually were. So it wasn't that hard to get back to their room, he opened the door and closed it behind them with his foot. He set Elliot down on the bed, before laying down next to her.

It didn't take too long for the nightmares to arise. She sat in a white room, clutching her shoulder. It no longer bled but it throbbed in pain. The robots refused to give her anything of the pain. She wore a white gown that hung loosely from her body and her hair fell into her face. A robot entered the room, causing her to scream. She pushed away from the centre of the room and pressed her back against the wall as it walked toward her. It bent down and grabbed her wrist, ripping her to her feet. She stumbled and followed him, crying all the while. She was dragged to a room filled with tools and devices. This was wear she lost her memories, where they took control of her, where they gave her an arm. This was the most horrific room. They brought her there often.

She screamed as she woke up, she was covered in cold sweat and was crying. She looked at Jacob and shook her head a little. For everything of her life with Jacob and her family, she was thankful for. But along with those memories came the ones of the facility and the things they did to her and made her to. She felt like it was driving her crazy.

Jacob immediately sat up, and put his arms around Elliot. "Shhhhh it's alright Ellie it's all right your safe no ones going to hurt you while I'm here." His chin rested on the top of her head, as he pulled her into his lap. Trying to comfort her as best as he could, he knew nightmares wouldn't go away it would just haunt you.

Elliot was gasping, trying to take deep breaths, trying to calm down. It wasn't working though. She curled up in Jacob's lap and buried her face in his chest. When she managed to calm down slightly, she whispered, "I... r-remember what they... did....." She closed her eyes tightly. She never once thought that those monsters were merciful... But the fact that they took those memories away to other than allowing her to cower in fear of them.

She looked at Jacob, she was even more thankful for the fact that she managed to get him out of there. She never wanted him or anyone else to have to endure that. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply, "I love you..."

She returned her head to his chest for the first time since she had found her, she noticed the smell of sweat on them. She tried to laugh a little, "I think we both could use a shower..."
