Height: 163 cm (5’ 3”)
Weight: 56 kg (123.5 lbs)
ADDED: Apparently there is some confusion as to her hair color depending on monitor settings. xD Kathy's hair is "rust-colored"; think about a shade of dark, brown-ish red.

Name: Katherine Argall (Nicknames: Eri or Kathy)

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Species/Race: Human

Powers: She refers to her own ability as ‘No-Limit Road’. The actual nature of her power lies in the ability to walk on anything that can support her weight, regardless of the laws of gravity and almost seeming to re-direct any gravitational forces acting on her towards the surface she’s walking on. Meaning, she can walk on walls, ceilings, and almost any solid surface. Anything she can carry with her normal physical strength can also be taken with her (i.e. if she’s holding something, then the object will experience a gravitational pull towards the surface Katherine is walking on instead of towards the actual ground).

For example, she can walk along the back of a chair. Under normal circumstances the chair should simply topple from the unbalanced weight, but since a ‘chair’ itself is fully capable of supporting her weight if she sits properly in the seat, she can literally stand on the back of the chair perpendicular to the ground. Other forces like someone pushing/pulling her or the wind are not affected by her ability. As an example of limitations: she can technically walk on windows, but most glass is not made to be stood on and would likely shatter under her weight.

She requires contact (direct or indirect, like with shoes on) with a surface using her feet. Meaning, she cannot jump or do a handstand on the surface without plummeting towards the real ground. Any object she loses contact with while using her ability will immediately be subject to normal gravity as well.

Weaknesses: She cannot deal with sour food. It’s to the point where she can’t even drink orange juice without cringing.

Despite having a fairly good athletic ability, she cannot swim. She would honestly rather just walk along the sides of the pool while holding her breath than attempt to float for a few seconds.

Overall, she’s got the body of an average human being and any weaknesses that apply to normal humans also apply to her.

Personality: Generally a friendly and approachable person. She has a bad habit of over-thinking and ends up seeming to be dazed at times. She likes to take things at a leisurely pace and is fairly good at keeping herself calm. On the rare occasions she becomes ‘excited’ (good or bad), she can quickly calm herself back down. Katherine loves simple interactions and small talk with others, but is not comfortable with giving advice for problems or becoming involved in conflict. Not being comfortable with it doesn't mean she won’t, however, it does mean she’ll hesitate to become involved and will look for alternative means if at all possible. She feels no shame in running away (literally) from her problems when needed.

She loves people with a good sense of humor, even though she’s not very good at telling jokes herself and sometimes misses subtle humor thrown in by others from time to time.

Height: 174 cm (5’ 7”)
Weight: 55 kg (121.3 lbs) <- Don’t try this at home kids. Not a good weight to be in at this height.
His hair color is orange (dyed).

Name: Leroy Yew

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Species/Race: Human

Powers: Synes Ink – Leroy is, without a doubt, a genius. Paintings, wooden carvings, pottery, etc… If it’s art-related, he’s done it. Among the many countless creations he’s made so far, his ink paintings receive the most attention. Using only black, red, blue, and yellow ink he creates works of art that captivates the eye and send shudders down people’s spines. Sometimes literally.

Using ink as his medium, Leroy can make people feel certain emotions by painting pictures, or leaving a mark on the person with his hand. If he paints something with a specific emotion in mind, whoever looks at the painting will experience that emotion. Generally looking away from the painting will allow the emotion to dissipate, but similar to the suspension bridge effect sometimes the illusory feeling he has the person feel can end up triggering their real emotions which tends to linger.

If he leaves a fingerprint on someone after dipping his finger in ink, he can leave them a vague sense of the emotion he wants them to feel. A mere fingerprint is not very strong and it may just leave the person more confused than anything else really, wondering why they suddenly felt a certain way. A complete handprint, however, is much stronger. For example, if he instills ‘fear’ into someone with an ink handprint, they will feel frightened and can later go into a panic attack or even go insane if the mark is left on the person for several days. The handprint initially just makes the person feel the emotion, and over time the effect will grow stronger. Adding more handprints of the same emotions will make the effects stronger, and adding different emotions can produce more complicated effects or result in cancelling each other. Washing the mark away (or removing the piece of clothing the mark is on) will remove his effect on the person, but the emotion the person feels won’t disappear right away.

Weaknesses: He can’t use his ability without ink. He can create a very weak substitute with his blood, but the potency of his power is essentially halved.

Leroy’s sense of touch seems rather ‘dull’ compared to most people. This can sometimes be a source of strength (e.g. he can ignore a lot of pain and keep moving), however usually this causes a lot of trouble for him. It takes him longer to notice he’s injured, meaning he can move that area and make the injury worse. He can go outside in scorching heat and not realize the ‘discomfort’ he feels is actually a sign he’s getting heat stroke until he eventually falls onto the ground.

Perhaps as a result of his dulled touch, he does not handle impairments to his sight very well. For example, darkness. He needs to be able to see properly. Covering his eyes, being in complete darkness, or basically anything that makes him feel ‘blinded’ will make him panic and lash out.

Personality: He smiles warmly, keeps his words and actions polite, and always goes out of his way to reach out to help people. How scary. Leroy’s kindness is not an act, however, the warmth is a lie. He is pointlessly kind, and can be pointlessly cruel in return. A child can selflessly rescue a butterfly from a spider’s web just because they felt it should be done, but another can rip off the butterfly’s wings without feeling a single tinge of remorse or guilt. He is a child without guidance. Innocent, yet cruel.

Background: When he discovered his ability exactly is unknown, but his parents believe Leroy’s behavior began to change around the age of 12, when he was beginning to gain recognition as an artistic prodigy. From experimenting with all sorts of different styles and media, it was around this point that he became oddly focused on ink paintings in particular.

Over the years, Leroy brought many different classmates to his home, introducing them as ‘friends’ coming over to play. But his parents began to notice an odd pattern. After a while, Leroy’s ‘friends’ always stopped visiting and he would bring over new children they had never seen before. At the same time, strange rumors were surfacing about him at school. They said that the people around Leroy always seemed to go mad. His ‘friends’ were always haunted by strange nightmares that persisted even when they were awake, or always laughing and enjoying themselves as if they were within a never-ending euphoria.

His parents talked to him about this issue, and Leroy did not deny these claims and merely smiled at them, telling them not to worry because those children were not actually his friends. Frightened for the first time by their own son, they did their best to understand what his powers were like and to teach him not to abuse it but… To no avail. They sent him off to Athalia Academy, hoping that there was someone that could do what they could not.

Name: ‘Ara’ Glaisyer (Nicknames: ‘A’ for the male Ara, ‘B’ for the female Ara. Note: Calling them ‘Ara A’ or ‘Ara B’ will be taken offensively.)

Age: 19

Gender: Female/Male

Species/Race: Doppelganger(?)

Powers:
2 Lives – ‘Ara’ is actually ‘1 person’ with ‘2 different existences’, and needs to be killed twice to remain permanently dead. If Ara is killed once, the Doppelganger will receive all the wounds inflicted onto Ara and will disappear in his/her place. It takes exactly 24 hours for the doppelganger to recover, therefore the second death will have to occur before 24 hours (see Fractal World below).
Fractal World – A world accessible by doppelgangers beyond mirror reflections. Other beings can enter the Fractal World if they know about it, but it is almost impossible to leave without the help of a doppelganger. Ara can access this world using any sort of mirror to switch places with his/her doppelganger, and the doppelganger is able to heal any sort of injury as long as they remain within the Fractal World. It is also incredibly convenient for storage purposes.
‘Karmic Voice’ – An ability limited only to the MALE Ara (A). He can return any injuries/damage to the one that caused it by naming the part of his body that was injured. Any injuries inflicted on B cannot be transferred. If he knows a person’s full name, A can call that name to transfer any injury he has to that person. Otherwise, the damages can only be returned to the one that inflicted it.
‘Mirroring Eyes’ – An ability limited only to the FEMALE Ara (B). Any sort of attack or ability B witnesses, she can copy once for the same purpose. For example, she can also shatter rock if she witnesses someone else do it, but she cannot inflict that same attack on a person because she witnessed the attack being used on a rock, not a person. Also, she can only copy one ability at a time. She can keep a certain ability in her ‘memory’ for as long as she wishes, but if she ever decides to copy a different ability then she won’t be able to use the first ability until she witnesses it again.

Weaknesses:
Powers – The Fractal World cannot be accessed without a mirror. Karmic Voice can only be used if the person can hear A, and he lacks any offensive ability of his own. Mirroring Eyes cannot be used if B’s sight is obstructed.
Enemy Within – The 2 halves share a form of mutual trust and acknowledgement that they cannot survive without the other, but in all honesty they are always fighting to have the right to exist in the real world. In fact there are only 2 things keeping them from killing each other: 1. It is impossible to lay a hand on the other because they are never in the same world at the same time. And 2. As far as they know, neither of them can die permanently unless both of them are killed together. Their memories are shared between them when they switch places, but otherwise they can keep secrets from each other until the next switch and the one in the Fractal World does not have real-time updates on what is going on unless there is a mirror reflecting Ara somewhere nearby.
Socializing – As one can imagine, it’s pretty hard convincing people that both the male and female counterpart are actually the same person. It gets even more complicated due to the fact both A and B consider each other enemies, but dislike when they treated differently by friends after they switch.
Like a Human – Ara is a little sturdier and faster than the average human, but otherwise has similar weaknesses as a regular human. As long as he/she doesn’t ‘die’ (1st time), any injuries inflicted on Ara will remain and affect him/her like anyone else.

Personality: Ara has a strong will and a sharp tongue to match it. He/She flares up pretty quickly, but cools down just as fast. No one knows where Ara’s unbounded confidence comes from, but basically Ara always faces things head-on and seems oddly optimistic at times.

Background: Ara can’t actually remember which half was the real original and which half was the true doppelganger. In fact, Ara is pretty sure they (the original and the doppelganger) were originally the same gender, but they can’t remember if they were originally male or female. Ara’s memories are completely jumbled up, being able to recall only small bits of a normal life or the memories of a wandering doppelganger.

They know that at one point in their lives, the real Ara and the Doppelganger must have met up, triggering a series of accidents aimed to take Ara’s life. However, Ara was not willing to go down with a fight and tracked the Doppelganger down with the intent to kill if that was what needed to be done. Instead, Ara and the Doppelganger somehow merged together, and were able to spare both their lives by doing so. However, this drastic event had permanently damaged their memories and even changed their physical characteristics. After merging into one and splitting off into 2 halves of each other, they became a strange being unlike any other. Both A and B believe they are the real original and that the other half is the Doppelganger that ended up ruining their lives.

Other: Although Ara will appear normally in photographs and the like, he/she can’t see their own image in mirrors because the one reflected in the mirror will be the other half. The doppelganger in the mirror is able to move separately within the mirror, but cannot move away from the mirror as long as ‘Ara’ remains in front of the mirror.

Name: Torvald Hirsch

Age: 24

Gender: Male

Race: Cybernetic Organism – A.k.a. Cyborg
He has no vessels for blood to run through, and has no heart to stop. Leaving just his brain and spinal cord intact, the rest of his body is made of intricate machinery running primarily on liquid mana to function. The intake of normal food is impossible for him, due to a lack of a digestive system, and he requires a daily injection of nutrients into his neck to keep his brain and spinal cord alive. Synthetic skin and a thin layer of reinforced metal directly beneath it protects his inner parts, and also keeps water and most foreign matter out of his body. Countless magic runes are etched into the metal parts inside of him to allow movement and other more complicated feats.

The ‘mask’ he wears is removable, but functions as an extended part of his mechanical body. Due to the amount of machinery and space required for the spinal cord, it had been impossible to install some sort of vocal system close enough for sound to travel through his mouth (he refused to have his voice project from any other region). Using residual gaseous mana created from the liquid mana running in his body, the mask interprets the movements of Torvald’s mouth and positioning of his head to give him a ‘voice’. With the mask, he is fully capable of speaking fluently with a range of dynamics, but would be unable to mimic any unusual sounds or accents from another region. Without the mask, he is completely mute.

Home Sphere: Bulwark/Sabaton (See background below.)

Background: Born and raised in Bulwark, Torvald was a soldier serving in the military of the Bulwark Empire. Holding great pride in his homeland and work, he strived to move up quickly in the ranks and often volunteered to participate in highly dangerous missions to gain recognition. Ironically enough, he experienced his first near-death experience during a training session instead of out in the field. During combat training, his sparring partner made a mistake in casting a fire spell and accidentally set off an explosion that left both of them in critical condition. The one that caused the incident was discharged upon recovery, but Torvald returned a few months later with a mechanical right arm and leg to replace the ones he had lost. His sight in his right eye had also been damaged, however, he did not have this treated due to limited finances.

Unfortunately, no matter how good of a soldier he was, he was still too naïve to be a leader. During a routine patrol on one of the more distant Spheres owned by the Bulwark Empire, an unexpected situation arose. An enemy soldier came close to their camp with a hostage in hand, demanding the soldiers to surrender the base. Seeing only the one enemy, Torvald did not call for backup and tried to lead a rescue mission on his own. His arrogance caused the death and injury of many subordinates as well as himself. Dismissed with disgrace and forcibly deported from Bulwark, he was left on Sabaton to live out the remainder of his days.

Refusing to give up on himself, he took on whatever job he could from the residents there to keep himself alive and earn money. Little by little, he replaced more of his body for cold, mechanical parts until nothing remained of his original self, save for his brain and spinal cord. Some say it was due to his desire for greater power that led him to undergo such drastic surgeries, but others say it was because he was hoping to be able to forget the pain of the past and leave his old self behind.

Working primary as a mercenary-for-hire, he keeps an eye on the bounties and list of notorious criminals wanted by the Bulwark Empire. He hopes that one day he will be able to return back to Bulwark and re-enlist in the military. Believing blindly that catching enough of these criminals will help him gain forgiveness from the military, he does whatever he can to stay alive long and hunt down enemies of the empire.

Skills/Abilities/Powers:
- Mechanical body: Made of reinforced metal and runes, his body is extremely difficult to damage past the soft synthetic skin. He lacks any sensors for pain and would be able to keep fighting as long as he has even a single limb left to fight with. He also much stronger than the average mortal and could easily shatter bone with his fists or kick.
- Magic: He is able to use very simple magic to call forth electricity. Unfortunately Torvald is not very skilled with magic and would only be able to temporarily stun an opponent with his spells.
- Combat: His days in the military and experiences gained from various jobs undertaken after his dismissal has made him very strong in hand-to-hand combat. He is very confident in his abilities at close-quarters, but is able to do very little with large ranges.

Equipment:
- Case: He keeps a large grey case filled with replacement parts, liquid mana, and syringes containing nutrient supplements.
- Metal Stave: Acts as a heavy blunt weapon, and to facilitate his electrical spells.

Theme Song:

Other: He has enough knowledge for general maintenance and simple repairs of his body, but any major damage is beyond his capabilities.
RP: None
Disclaimer: This was a rejected application to the RP Aurora, so not all of these ideas are my own. The system of mana, the spheres mentioned in his background belong to Asuras.

Name: Mindy Yang

Age: 23

Height: 5’5

Weight: 58 kg

Parents: Joyce Miller and Carl Yang (Both alive; divorced)

Siblings: Kaitlyn Miller (Younger sister - Alive)

Mental Ability: Erasing – She can choose to ‘erase’ one thing (e.g. a single memory, an action yet to be made) from a person’s mind. For example, Mindy can stop someone from punching her by erasing the nerve signal going to the arm, make someone forget about what they had for dinner, and rid someone of the sensation of pain. The key to this ability, however, is ‘awareness’ meaning that Mindy can’t erase anything that she is not aware of. If a person launched a surprise attack on her, it is impossible for her to erase the action. It should also be noted that ‘erasing’ is nothing like ‘paralyzing’ and does not incapacitate anyone. And for memories, she can’t seem to ‘erase’ them completely and instead ‘represses’ them. Therefore, any memory she ‘erases’ can be recalled if there is an appropriate trigger of some sort but it would be difficult, like trying to recall an important word you forgot about while writing an exam.

History: Her parents were divorced as far back as she could remember, so Mindy was raised by her father alone. She is aware of the fact she has a younger sister living with her mother and knows her face from the rare, occasional photographs her father shows her. Unfortunately, since they never grew up together or met very often, she feels little to no connection to her mother and sister. They are “acquaintances that happen to be related by blood”, as Mindy puts it. Her father, Carl Yang, has attempted to re-marry a few times in the past. For ‘mysterious reasons’, his girlfriends always broke up with him after baby-sitting his young daughter.

At the young age of 7, Mindy found her passion and goal in life: fencing. She tried the sport out during a special ‘try any activity for free’ at a local gym and became instantly hooked. At first her father was thrilled that his daughter had found something she enjoyed and could devote her time to, but slowly became worried as she continued to insist that she would one day make a living off of it. He tried cutting off her lessons, strictly forcing her to focus on schoolwork, and constantly reminded her about the ‘harsh world’ for the talented. For a short while, he succeeded.

Behind his back, however, Mindy had other plans. Studying hard according to his wishes, she got into prestigious schools with fencing clubs and practiced behind his back. She obtained money for equipment and club fees by stealing bits of money around the house every day, then later got a part-time job to fund her activities and a proper tutor when she became of legal age to work. With in-born talent and hard work, she entered competitions and soon gained enough recognition for her father to concede and acknowledge the life she chose for herself. Called a ‘prodigy’ she claimed many trophies and medals, seeming to be on her way to a smooth and successful career in the sports world.

But one day, at the age of 21, she ran into a wall. Not literally, but a figurative one in her career. She was talented, but not as talented as those who beat her to win first place in the competitions. She put in more practice hours in an attempt to defeat them and regain her former glory. All she got for her efforts were sore muscles and injuries from over-exerting her body. There was little doubt in her actual abilities, but she could never seem to rise above third place in local competitions and was never chosen to compete in global ones. Discouraged and having to take time to rehabilitate an injured knee, Mindy took a temporary leave from fencing.

Now 2 years later, long after her knee has healed, she still shows no signs of coming out of temporary retirement. She currently lives by mooching off of her friends and, occasionally, her father.

[Psychic Mentality]

Strength: Mental Force – She could probably just erase most ‘protection’ people have in their minds to just sneak right in through their back door. Also, some things like erasing the signal to move a limb doesn’t even require contact with the brain but rather the motor neurons and therefore do not even require much breaking-and-entering.

Weakness: Mental Capacity – Her brainwaves can’t travel very far and requires her to be able to see, hear, and/or feel the target (technically scent would work too, but she’s not a dog and can’t obtain much information from just smelling something). Her ability also works in short bursts so there’s not much to be said about the duration of her brainwaves.

Occupation: Former athlete, currently unemployed.
RPs: None
Note: Was an application I had in mind for a survival RP, but I never ended up using her. Lol.
