It was a good movie. How they hollywooded the book to make it into a movie was not bad at all. The makers definitely knew the flaws with being completely religious to a book originally from another culture, a Japanese light novel has a lot of appeal to some people but to the general western audience, it might leave them a bit lost, and they accounted for this amazingly. I originally thought it would be just another shitty sci-fi apocalypse flick but I was definitely wrong, it turned out to be an awesome movie and paid homage to the manga and light novel excellently.

I had no idea it was based off a novel. And here I was thinking Hollywood was taking risks on original ideas again. It actually does look pretty cool, although I'm wondering something.

The whole reverse time thing was a power from the aliens, right? Doesn't that mean they can do the same thing?
