Elliot nodded and relaxed into him again. She didn't close her eyes as she lay there though. Instead, she just took everything about him in. His smell, how he felt against her, the sound of his breathing. She felt as he rubbed his destroyed leg and placed her hand on his. She lifted it off on his metal leg and placed it against the skin of her own. She sighed, "I'm sorry that I can't help with your leg at all...."

Jacobs gaze met hers the ice blue color of his eyes meeting hers,'"not your fault I took a stupid move and paid for the risks of it." He smiled a little, "I still remember the time I climbed the side of my truck at fast speeds to get to the back end once you stopped you looked like you were ready to slap me but decided against why?"
Elliot shook her head, "I never intended to slap you... But I was mad enough to," She sighed, "I guess because that isn't how you thank someone who just saved your life."
She rested her head on his chest, "I'm just glad I was asleep this time around... I would have been ultra furious with you."
She placed her hand on top of his hand that still sat on her bare leg, "I didn't have much of a chance to get angry with you this time... I guess you've learnt your lesson too. No more climbing into the backs of moving vehicles."
Elliot liked talking about their distant past, before things went really wrong.
She rested her head on his chest, "I'm just glad I was asleep this time around... I would have been ultra furious with you."

Jacob smiled a bit, "yah I know that I learned my lesson this time. You always talk about the cheesy romantic kissing moments from movies, well I guess you kissing me in the middle of a battle is a bit better than that. I was going to tell you about my feelings for you, but I lost my nerve and backed down from that."
Elliot laughed softly and wrapped her arm around his waist, "Well, that's terribly lame. I find that you have troubles expressing those feelings.... I mean, I had to kiss you and I has to propose that you propose," She shook her head and giggled, "I think you need to work on that."

Jacob pouts a bit, before meeting her gaze and kissing her. He pulled back, moving his hand on her leg taking in her figure. Everything about her, as he laid there he didn't want to miss a single detail of her. This was the only, peaceful moment he has had in a long time.
Elliot smiled as he kissed her, moving her hands to his chest. When he pulled away, she curled up against him, enjoying him running his hand along her. She took a deep breath lying there, Jacob made things seem so simple, easy. She felt like nothing could go wrong when they lay together as they were. But sooner or later it was over and they had to get out of bed. That was when things hit her the hardest. She knew Jacob couldn't be with her every moment of the day but she felt saner with him. Things were just better. She sighed, "I feel bad... I'm kind of happy you've lost your leg... It gives us a reason not to get out of bed," She looked up at him, "I'm horrible, aren't I?"

Jacob could only laugh , "hey it keep me off the feild I'm not going back out there for a few weeks. Which I don't mind at all as long as I can spend my time, with you I don't care if I lost my leg or I'm hurt I'll spend every minute with you Ellie no matter what they want me to do."
Elliot looked at him and shook her head, "Liar," she smiled, "I'm sure you love every minute you spend with me... But the moment you heal up... you be off again. Running into whatever danger you can find," she sighed, "As much as it pains me, it is something I love about you."

Jacob could only shake his head, "what is that my nickname to you now or is it jake?" He was curious on what she would pick for his nickname, he really didn't like the little soldier much, but he could deal with it. That's only when he saw his brother coming in with a mechanic and another doctor. He sighed, "I guess surgery then to get this thing off." The doc nodded so did the mechanic, Kyle looked at Elliot, "I for think you want to stay in here when he under goes with it."
Elliot jumped when the others entered the room and quickly made space between her and Jacob. They all probably knew the two of them were together but it was strange being caught being intimate on a bed together. She didn't know the mechanic and, well, it was a little awkward around Kyle. She looked at Kyle as he spoke to her, suggesting that she stay in the room. She nodded and looked at the men, quickly climbing out of the bed. As uncomfortable as it was lying on the bed it was even more so staying in the bed. Although, standing there in Jacob's shirt wasn't much better. She leaned over and kissed his cheek, "I'll be right here."
She looked between the men, "I'm just going to talk to Kyle while you set up."
Grabbing a pair of jeans, she pushed him into the hall and closed the door behind her, "God!" She said as she pulled on her pants, "A knock or some warning would have been nice!"

Kyle blinked some, then sighed. "Alright alright sorry." He ran his hand through his hair, then took a deep breath, "I didn't know you would be lying there with him in thought you were already out of the room you don't know how much I wanted to be right but I wasn't I guess." He sighed, "just be sure to be there for him I've seen him go through it once he was calling out your name while he was in pain, because it would take a few days for his body to adjust to a new part."

She placed her hand on the door and hesitated, "Kyle... You know this is never going to happen right?" She glanced at him and sighed, "I asked Jacob to propose to me... Kyle nodded, "I guess so Elliot. I already had my doubts and other things, but I will move on for my brother." He started walking toward the living room. Jacob watched as the doctor got things set up and watched the mechanic make some tweaks to the robot leg for him.
Elliot gave him a soft smile, "Thank you."
She turned and went back into the room. She walked over to the bed and sat on the edge, making sure to be on the opposite side of his leg. She took his hand in hers and kissed it. She smiled at him, "Jacob and Ellie has a better ring than anything I can think of... You don't need a nickname."
She waved the doctor away as she took the IV from him. She slipped it into Jacob's arm and placed her hand over it, "I'll be right here when you wake up."

Jacob nodded, the last thing he had heard was Elliot's voice. When he went under, gently the doctor started cutting open the skin around the left metal leg. Trying his best to be careful, as he got deeper into the skin watching where he was cutting.
Elliot sat there as they worked around Jacob's leg. She nearly laughed, if you asked her a few years ago if she could sit there while her boyfriend's leg was being removed and not feel the need to vomit, she would have said no. Yet, here she was, watching the two men as they worked. She was even a little fascinated by the doctor. At one point, she did have to leave the room quickly, to grab something to eat or go to the washroom. However, she was always back as soon as possible.
Sometime later, the two men finished giving Jacob his brand new leg and left Elliot, the doctor feeling comfortable that she was competent to take care of him. Although, he did tell her that he would be in a few times to check in on the progress. Once they left, she climbed into the bed beside Jacob and rested her head on his chest, listening to his steady breathing.

Jacobs breathing was steady, so was his heart beat. Jacob groaned a bit in pain, as he came back to reality. He realized he hadn't had any pain pills, he kept his eyes closed as his hands went to his leg. As a new wave of pain hit him again an again.
Elliot looked up at him as he groaned, waking up. She felt his hand move to his leg and quickly grabbed it moving it away, "Don't. You are tender down there."
She climbed out of the bed and grabbed the pain meds from her kit and attached them to the IV in his arm. She smiled at him and kissed his forehead, "Those will kick in soon."
She crawled back into the bed, careful not to touch his new leg. She kissed his cheek, "How are you? Other than the pain in your leg?"

Jacob felt his hand move away from his leg. He slowly opened his eyes, "besides my leg I'm fine with my leg I hurt." He grabbed Elliot's hand and held it in his hand, he looked over at Elliot. "I'm just glad you stayed here with me Ellie."
