Sorry dear, I just got home from laptop shopping. Asking questions and explaining answers to my 73 year old grandmother so that she can make an informed choice. My body wants me to nap now, but I'll try and post first. :-)

I was going to have Joseph attempt to help Erik escape back to the Resistance. Obviously it would have failed so that the story could continue, and it's pretty predictable, but it would have at least thrown a slight wrench into things.

Exactly. He didn't want to betray Alexi, but he hated watching anyone be tortured like that for any reason. Soon after Erik reached insanity, he was going to hit a breaking point and try and find a way to get him out. Now there's no reason for it, since he understands a little more.

I will point out that that's another thing that totally could have been prevented by Alexi explaining himself from the beginning. :-P

I would, but I'm lacking time to read anything right now, partially due to writing lol.

"So, I want you to trust me, and I trust you enough to drink a potion that will let you into my brain... but I'm still going to keep you shackled to a wall..." Mixed messages much? Lol. How Alexi frames that is going to determine just how pissed off Erik is. Is one dose enough that Alexi will be able to feel echoes when Erik has particularly strong emotions?

Nope, he will not be able to feel emotions from Erik until after the second one, well, other than the ones he's already felt :P And he only needs to remain shackled for a night. . . .Unless. . . . . .Would Erik agree to something a little more liberating, even if it may be a little more. . .Symbolically humiliating?

He might not be that annoyed, really. He only said he would take the potion, but he hasn't done it yet. So far, Alexi is "ahead" on the trust game. On the other hand, if he's still shackled, he's still being "forced" to do it in a sense... I don't know. It's late lol.

Do what you want and I'll stop overthinking it. :-)

A collar that will keep him from leaving the room. The remote would go to Joseph, so Alexi could, in a way, further show his trust. The only setting would be to keep him in the bedroom and bathroom areas, he would not be allowed to leave past those two room. Not a shock collar, but literally he would just freeze in the doorway or window, most likely falling back into to room after a couple seconds. Since the other controls have to be manual implemented, with Joseph going about his chores, he will not be there to enact them, so, in other words, Erik COULD kill Alexi if he wanted to :P

He wouldn't like it, but I can see him agreeing to it. He's really trying hard to force himself to put his pride and emotions aside and to be pragmatic. Expect some questions and complaining though. :-P
