Well, it's actually my second one. On my first real mage, I got up to killing The Last Giant and then I poked the Emerald Herald with a dagger for the lulz, resulting in her completely ignoring me and refusing to help me level up.
I'm now at the same point with my new mage lady, and I'm NOT going to screw my entire playthrough over. But man, being a sorcerer IS as easy as I've heard it was. If my enemies ever live long enough from being barraged with spells, I just crit-fuck them with my dagger. I can two-shot most enemies with my spells anyway, but I'm a bit conservative with my spell use, so I usually just shoot off one Soul Arrow and then hack at whoever I'm attacking to finish them off.
On a side note: WTF is with that shortcut to the Cardinal Tower bonfire? Who the hell is going to figure that one out? The fucking wall isn't even cracked and the barrels near it have literally zero indication that they can be blown up. Alright, sure, maybe the guy above you is supposed to throw a firebomb at you as you pass and blow up the barrels for you, but anyone who can plays Souls games worth a damn doesn't just ignore enemies on a high ground.
C for effort, From, but come on.
