With a deep breath Princess Jemma explained the situation to her brother in full detail. The young prince of Iglasia had insulted them both and she wasn't going to stand for his nonsense. "It's up to you to prove that you are the best, and restore honor to EverGlenn once and for all. Or so help me I'll take your place and do it myself" Her tone wasn't common for her, she was reliving how frustrated she was at the young prince's impudence. "If you do this, do it for me, please Jasper? I'll even go with you to the duel arena here to train before the fight if you'd like"

She sat down at the foot of her chosen bed and stared at him, waiting for him to explode on her. He was obviously going to be upset that she acted so brashly and impulsively. But not only that she put him in an awkward position, whatever choice he would make would feel like the wrong one. Jemma hoped that it wouldn't have an impact on the deal Jasper had made with the King of Iglasia and that Fiyori wouldn't be upset with her for putting together a fight before the big championship duel.

Jasper listened carefully, his mouth starting to get dry and his face burning a little. He became upset with her, but knew she was very impulsive and protective, plus he knew how much of a brat Vince was, so it wasn't all her fault. He still wanted to yell at her, make her apologize, fix the problem herself. Then she spoke of restoring honor and fighting for her. He placed a hand on his forehead and shook his head side to side with his eyes closed. Pondering about his choices, if he fought it would at least keep the honor and satisfy her, even if he lost, but if he won, it could make the King think that the deal made earlier was a mistake. He questioned it a lot before looking at her with strict eyes, "I'm not pleased with you Jemma, you've put me in a risky situation, I hope you know that."

He left her presence and headed towards his wardrobe where the maids had placed his clothes while he was with the King. He started to take off his larger articles of clothing and kicking off his boots. While undressing down to his slacks and t-shirt he continued to think about the outcomes. If he didn't fight EverGlenn would lose respect and the Prince would be looked down upon. This he couldn't have, he has to fight. He grabbed his golden blade and took it out of its sheathe and turned towards his sister. He inspected the blade before stating, "When is the duel? If I'm going to be fighting I need time to warm up and practice. You are coming with to both practice and the duel, you are also going to be apologizing to father when we get home, saying that you put mine and the King's deal at risk. That should be enough to teach you to watch your tongue next time." He returned his blade back to its sheathe and stripped down to his undergarments before changing into more suitable clothes for bed.

Jemma looked at the not-so fancy ceiling, making a clicking sound with her mouth as she thought. Her gaze returned to Jasper and she sighed deeply. "Yes brother, I'm sorry I upset. I'll do as you say... As long as you keep up your end of the bargain" Of course she said this lightly as to not upset her brother further, but she meant what she said. The impulsive, young princess moved to the wardrobe on her side of the room and began to undress. Although as a child she had no problem changing in front of her twin, now it just felt, weird. Jemma moved behind the changing screen with her night clothes in hand. After a minute or so she was out of her uncomfortable dress and into a somewhat shorter, comfier one.

Now that she was more comfortable she could think clearer, she began to answer his question, "the duel is at noon tomorrow, we must go to train at first light... I'm sorry" His twin could see how upset he was, but that was normal for Jasper. "We should sleep now so we can wake early." She lept into bed to hide under the covers. "Good night brother, I hope you still care for me after all this" Jemma truly did feel bad, but she need Jasper to show the Iglasians that they were a force to be reckoned with. Now if only there was some way for her to prove herself... As she thought about this with her eyes closed she fell asleep with her arms wrapped around her body.

As the Golden Prince prepared himself for bed she responded to him with the information that he needed, along with a couple helpful suggestions. 'Noon?' he thought to himself, it wasn't that much time to practice let alone warm up for the duel, this was really going to test his skills. "We'll wake before the sun rises, I'll let a maid know when I want to be woken up, I want you to be training with me so rest your mind, you're going to need a lot of focus if you're going to wield a blade against my own." He laid down on the fabric bed, the sheets and mattress were not that of EverGlenn but the Iglasian's never had the same luxurious materials as the Golden Family.

That night Jasper fought himself hard to get to sleep sleep, staying awake thinking of the time he was struck by lightning when he was younger, forever scarred and tortured by storms. He started to wonder and rethink how much pain he would go through if he so needed to switch to his secret weapon and wield in his left hand. Could it be too soon without preparation? The Blonde Boy fell asleep quickly after mentally exhausting himself from all the planning and actions he would take during the duel. He tended to plan out his combos like a book from start to finish, each chapter there for a reason and having its own individual effect on the reader, or in this case, the opponent. That night Jasper had an empty mind, a dreamless sleep, he often had these and did not take a liking to them, he would prefer to go through a nightmare then nothing at all. How ever, having such uneventful nights, it gave him nothing to focus on, his mind would be completely empty, perfect for dueling, nothing but pure focus on the battle. He would sometimes call it a curse but also a gift, he often kept this to himself so not to stir any questions and cause him to lose focus on the duel.

As soon as the young maiden entered their room the Valiant Son quickly arose form his slumber and kicked the girl out. She was not needed anymore, he didn't mean to be heartless about it but she was not of their own castle and thus could do no further for them. He went to his sister's bedside and listened to her breathing, he remembered such a similar patterned as if she was shooting a bow, she must have been dreaming about something like that. He loved her passion for such a skilled sport, but she wasn't going to get off the hook that easily. He grabbed her foot and threw it off the bed so it hung limp near the floor, "Get up, we have practice in ten minutes." He always made the time short, forcing him to get ready quickly and be prepared for anything. After dressing in his dueling attire, which he was luckily enough able to bring, not that he had any real intention of using his blade but he brought it to be safe anyways. It wasn't just his dueling only attire, he wore it for battle as well. Staring at him from the bottom up you could see his shined black leather boots, reflecting ones own appearance as you stared into them, tied tightly against his leg and they rose up to just below his knee. His trousers were of equal color and made of a thin material but held the durability of a cows hide. His belt was the crimson red that also decorated his castle, along with a golden buckle. He wore a single layer upon his torso, a silk like material forming a long sleeved blouse with cuffs at his wrists and a high collar.

The outfit wasn't just plain though, EverGlenn was always known for its extravagant designs and luxuries. The trousers were patterned with a gold thread in swirls and twists along the seam of his leg. The blouse was trimmed in gold on every loose end, following a pattern matching his leggings. To top it all off, now being closer to the responsibilities of a king, the Great King Mitus has awarded him proper epaulettes to resemble his title as Prince, earning his name. Of course last but not least he needed to tie his hair back his his mother's crimson silk ribbon. It was his good luck charm and he never left anywhere without it. After fully dressed and ready to go he looked over to his sister and saw she was slacking behind a little bit. "Hurry up, I'll be in the dueling hall waiting, stretching, hopefully you'll be ready by then, striking a wooden dummy is nothing to me."

He wanted to properly wish her good morning like he normally would, but his mind and focus was on nothing but the duel. When he got to the hall he started to roll his shoulders and stretch his muscles allowing full movement of his body without having to worry about anything. Jasper walked over to the wooden dummy, seeing the marks that the Princess of Iglasia had put into it, and still impressed by such dents. He grabbed the hilt of his blade just when the door opened and his sister walked in, breathing heavily, and obviously still tired. "Well come on then, catch your breath and ready yourself as soon as you can, I'll let you breathe for a moment." He quickly gripped the hilt of his golden blade and swung it up quickly at the dummy, striking deep into hard material and gashing the torso target wide open, trying to make it a point to his twin that the dummy's here were not of same quality and would prove worthless to train against.

When one of the maids of the castle came in for their wake up call, Jasper was up and ready to go, shooing her out just as quickly as she had come. However, his twin sister had not moved an inch, she had grown accustomed to waking up after the sun rose. Not only that but there was a slight time different in Iglasia compared to Everglenn. The teenage princess had not even heard her brother come over to her bed to admire her. She was lost in a dream about catching fish with her bow. It was one of her favorite past times and it showed off her skills kind of like Jasper's duels. Without warning, Jemma's foot was grabbed and pulled off of the bed. Her leg dangled limply off the edge of the bed. Now she had been slightly awoken from her slumber and she groaned at being so harshly woken up. "...Jasper?" The golden princess mumbled tiredly. She heard him moving about, getting dressed in his dueling clothes and waiting for her to follow suit. Slowly she got out of bed and moved to her designated wardrobe, too tired to care if he saw as she changed into her own fighting attire. Princess Jemma dressed as if she was going to battle, she wanted her brother to know that she was serious about his duels and helping him train for them. Her outfit consisted of a grey tunic with short sleeves and a black belt around her waist with a decorative golden pattern covering most of the belt. Black and gold greaves adorned her arms. Under her tunic she wore tight black pants similar to Jasper's with the same golden thread along the seam. As Jasper was heading out the door she was still attempting to get her black-leather, knee-high boots on. After a few minutes the boots were on and the golden laces tight neat and tight.

Now she could go to the training hall and fulfill her duty by helping her brother. The princess exited the room and sprinted to where she knew her twin would be. He was somewhat harsh to her that morning, she knew why and wanted to make it up to him. Upon arriving, Jemma could see her brother stretching, waiting for her. "Well come on then, catch your breath and ready yourself as soon as you can, I'll let you breath for a moment" He said. Jasper could tell she was still tired by how she bent over with her hands on her knees, breathing heavily. With a simple flick of his wrist he used his sword to make a large gash in the worthless training dummies. It was obvious the Iglasians didn't have the materials that those from Everglenn had. But it didn't matter much to Jemma, Jasper on the other hand, was different. Jemma got the point and couldn't help but smile. Jasper was such a military-type. So hard and determined, she loved that about him. After a brief moment of catching her breath, she hurried over, grabbing one of the dueling blades. Jemma smirked at him as she spoke, "en garde, twin".

Jasper was happy to see his sister ready to fight for the few hours that they had for him to train before the big duel. She smirked and said, "On garde, twin." She seemed ready but he could tell that she was nervous, maybe even scared that he would accidentally hurt her, Jasper knew his and her own limits and would do his best not to push them. That could result in a fatal accident that could ruin a form of trust that has been regained over the past few years. He raised his saber and touched edges with her own, "Ready?" he asked that in a form of a question but meant it as a statement, acting before she could answer and struck her blade quick but soft to put her on her toes.

He knew she has some sword play but not to the extent of his level. He tried his best to make it clear to her that he was no simple opponent and that this training for him was going to push her limits till she couldn't stand. He swung a couple more times, keeping her from attacking and making it extremely uncomfortable for her to fight. She would continue though, that's who she was, pushing herself to do her part in the promises that she kept. He backed off a bit and let her swing a couple times, blocking them like petty children swings. "Certainly that is not your best efforts?"

He was going to play with her for a bit, exchange some strikes and then push her a bit, exchange more, let her attack before pushing her some more. That was is plan all along, he didn't need practice, no training, just to teach her a lesson, dominating her in his playing field, to show her who was more powerful. He stepped it up a notch and swung harder with the same speed before knocking blade away from guard and coming inches from her chest at point. "Push yourself, I know you are better Jemma." He waited for her to start hitting faster and harder to the point where he actually had to pay attention or he would be cut. She played a dirty trick and cut his left shoulder, of course by accident and not meaning to harm him but Jasper just stood there, staring at her like nothing had happened. Jasper is used to having cuts on his body, that mark was just a baby scratch to what he had been through before, though blood was dripping down his white blouse, he did not react in anyway.

He could tell by the look in her eyes that she was frightened or worried, he had to comfort her if he wanted this game to continue, "Relax my twin, this is nothing, I feel nothing, if it hurt you would notice my face twitch in reaction, but I know you saw nothing in my eyes. I am not harmed, and you need to continue, fight me like that some more, it's helping." He readied his weapon again before continuing exchanges, she was becoming faster and more fluid, but she still had a lot to learn. He could feel an upmost discomfort for her, she needed to be at a range, from a distance, that is where she was comfortable, that is where she could focus. Him on the other hand, preferred to stare in the eyes of the enemy and create a fearful memory of their destruction before completely annihilating them in battle.

Almost at once after asking if she was ready, Jasper struck her blade and made her step back a bit in surprise. Jemma had had some experience with sword play in the past but had no where near the skill level of Jasper. She was nervous but also willing to do anything to help her brother. Rapidly he flicked his wrist, hitting her blade over and over, pushing her back farther and pushing her comfort limits. The princess held fast to her blade, not faltering but still being pushed back by him. Along the way, Jasper had finally pulled back only slightly and allowed her to swing at him, however her petty attempts at dueling combat only amused Jasper more. "Certainly that is not your best efforts?" Her twin asked her, she was unsure of his tone, but it seemed cocky to her.

Before she knew it Jasper was swinging at her with so much speed and so much force that she could hardly maintain her stance or keep the blade's hilt in her hand. This was his domain, the place he felt most comfortable. Jemma didn't have a chance. "Jasper!!" Her voice sounded pleading, like she wanted him to let up a little. "Push yourself, I know you are better, Jemma" The prince urged. With a nod the princess brought forth her courage and strength, moving her rapier through the air like a strong blade of grass that would cut through anything in its path. A smirked formed on the mischievous youngster's face and she threw her fist out toward her brother to distract him. His focus was now on her hand and she had just enough time to slice him on his left shoulder. Of course, she did not mean to make him bleed, simply wanted to show him that she had it in her. However, he just stood in his normal dueling stance and maintained his serious expression. Had she not harmed him? His white blouse was getting ruined by his blood, and it was her fault. Her brows furrowed with concern and sudden guilt.

"Relax my twin, this is nothing, I feel nothing, if it hurt you would notice my face twitch in reaction, but I know you saw nothing in my eyes. I am not harmed, and you need to continue, fight me like that some more, it's helping." Jasper held his hand with the sword in the ready position. The princess continued on with his encouragement and slashed at him with more focus this time. It wasn't the lessons or skill she lacked, it was the confidence against her brother, and the ability to wield such a weapon. This was not her forte, in a fight, she preferred to be further away and able to strike with great precision with her bow and arrows. Jasper was completely comfortable in the arena, it was what he had been trained to in all his life, and he was proving it to Jemma with every swift swing, dodge and block. "What exactly are we accomplishing with this, Jasper?"

Jasper's serious face slowly started to turn into a small smirk of enjoyment, he was having fun with her, a good time, bonding with his twin. He liked this, for the most part. Jemma was fighting better, he knew she had it in her, it was just her level of confidence to go all out, and she had proven herself a worthy sparring partner, but no more than that. He continued to exchange strikes and blocks with her, applying fancy and cocky tricks every now and then to toy with her and throw her off a bit. Soon she started to slow down, her endurance for such an activity was not equal to his, she needed to rest or she could end up making a mistake and hurting herself. He lowered his blade and stood still, "Stop," he blade still came down at him and he smacked it away with the back of his hand, there wasn't enough force behind it, she was too tired. "Take a rest, Jemma, you have done well and I can not ask anything further of you, thank you for your help." He gave her a smile and walked over to her while sheathing his golden blade, taking her rapier in his hand and helping her over to the benches on the side of the dueling area.

The Golden Prince felt a bit bad for pushing her so hard, she was his sister after all and she had done nothing terribly wrong, maybe his punishment for her was too much. "You have done the best that you could, and I am pleased," he bent down and kissed the top of her head while keeping a hand of her shoulder while she sat exhausted, "You don't have to tell father anything, I forgive you." With that being said the door that they entered through opened quickly. Fiyori was standing with a smirk on his rugged face and his hand on the hilt of his weapon. A fine blade, though much lighter than Jasper's and far more thin than his own, it still could not compete up against the Golden Prince's sharp blade.

"Ready to be crushed like the day a few years ago?" The Iglasian Prince asked with a cocky tone, he had confidence and played a different personality when it came to dueling. Like Jasper, very kind and selfless, respectable and caring towards others, but in the mix of battle or even in the heat of the warm up, they were completely different, setting their mind to shred their opponent and fear nothing. Of course each duelist had a different level of these traits, Jasper feared nothing when it came to a blade or the one wielding it, where as Fiyori feared the level of skill. Though reflecting on their previous duel when they were younger, he had no worries of Jasper's skill and thought of his own level much higher than the young Prince.

Jasper could instantly see that Fiyori was over confident and thought he out matched him. Jasper gave a small smirk and whipped his left arm that held Jemma's borrowed training rapier and threw the blade at the wooden dummy across the room, piercing the torso and showing through the other side. He looked back at Fiyori and saw a slight change in his eyes, a hint of doubt was now within his opponent. Jasper looked down at his sister and smiled, "I'll crush him like the bug he his," and slowly made his way to the middle of the arena." Of course such talk, insults and actions were only that of the battle and meant to show dominance on the arena, it meant no personal harm to one another, unless the duel was based on something personal, this however was not, it was only out of sport and a bet.

Fiyori entered with his younger brother Vince, the Princess Lumina, and of course a judge for the match. The younger prince sat down much farther away on the bench than where Jemma had sat and looked at her with disgust, "Your brother is in for a beating, he might end up looking like you," he noticed she was tired and obviously not well groomed after practice. Fiyori and the Judge both stepped on the the arena with Jasper and met in a small circle. While the Judge explained the basic rules and inspected each player, making sure the rapier was of standards and the short blade was of standards, Jasper glanced at Lumina, giving her a small flirtatious smirk.

The three on the arena separated, the duelists moving to opposite sides while they warmed up a bit while the judge moved to the opposite side of the bench. Jasper held a loose of steady grip in his right hand, he wanted to use his left but would start with his right to throw off the opponent, plus his left hand was a secret weapon, would it be too early to reveal it? Before the match began he looked over at his sister and nodded before looking at lumina and gave her a smile, "Ready to see how a real man fights?" he turned back to Fiyori. Jasper was on the side of the court away from the door, the judge stood to his right, while the bench to his left, and his opponent in front of him.

This was going to be fun, a real duel one that he had not been in for some time and was training for this for some time, just a small sport before the Championship in a couple months. The judge gave the signal and Jasper leaped in striking at Fiyori who quickly blocked and countered only to be blocked again. This fight was very fast pace and was no where near the speed that Jemma and Jasper were fighting at. Fiyori was large and slow, but his speed with his wrist was well balance to block most and attack fast, and his strength proved a powerful blow that would be difficult to block head on or a fatal wound. Jasper on the other hand was very small, nimble and fast, his blade was much heavier than Fiyori's but keeping it in momentum and the surprising strength that the Prince had, the Golden Blade was deadlier than most and the Prince was more than capable of wielding it, keeping his attacks quick and his blocks short.

Jemma was surprised when Jasper stopped their sparring, but she was also grateful. She had been trying so hard to show her brother she had it in her that she had exhausted herself. The princess's hair was now unkempt and her outfit just as messed up. There were even a few cut marks on her tunic from where Jasper had struck her, not to harm her of course. It wasn't obvious to her that he had been trying to teach her a lesson. All she wanted to do was help and make up for getting Jasper into the mess he was now in. Although she had been a little less the perfect in training she was proud of herself for not giving up, she had always been rather resilient. With a bit of heavy breathing she let Jasper escort her to the benches and was overjoyed when he said he was pleased with her and he kissed her on her head. She had, in fact, done well and had bonded with her brother. He even said she wouldn't have to tell father about the incident and that he forgave her. Her cheeks became a slight pink but she smiled at him despite the embarrassment, "thank you, Jasper". Fiyori and two of the other Iglasian royal children entered the dueling arena. The older prince had an air of confidence about him, including a smirk on his face. Jemma wasn't sure of what to make of it, he seemed different than before, but Jasper was undaunted he simply returned the tone and immediately began to show the Iglasians who owned the arena. With a simple flick of his wrist her practice blade pierced through a nearby dummy, Jasper wasn't playing around. He smiled at his sister and mentioned something about crushing Fiyori like a bug, which was suitable talk considering what the other prince had said when he first came in. The other two royal children of Iglasia sat down in the benches, Vince some distance from her, Lumina closer. "Your brother is in for a beating, he might end up looking like you". Of course she didn't look as well groomed as she should but she didn't care what he had to say, she wasn't all that self conscious. Jemma gave him a disapproving glare and flattened her hair down with her hands, brushing through it with her fingers. "I'm not worried, boy, my brother is strong, he will win" And she was right, Jasper was very strong and well-practiced, there was no reason to worry about him losing. Lumina was excited about the duel, she wanted to see what skills Jasper possessed and was enthused about her brother and him fighting, although she didn't want to see either of them get hurt. When she sat down with her legs crossed and her hands resting on her lap she noticed that Jasper gave a very suggestive smirk in her direction, she smiled in return with blushing cheeks. It made her happy to know that he felt something for her and his attitude made her feel even more attractive to him. She didn't want her brothers to think she wasn't supporting Fiyori so she didn't say anything in reply. As the fighters readied themselves Jasper said, "are you ready to see how a real man fights?" This made Lumina giggle and nod in response. Vince rolled his eyes , fueled with anger towards the Golden Prince. How could his sister like someone like him? The Golden Princess watched the fight begin with intensity, she wanted Jasper to win, but didn't want him to injure Fiyori too badly. She somewhat felt something for the Iglasian prince, he was charming, very charming. As she watched she notice the two different styles and how Jasper was lighter and faster, surely he would win. Fiyori's power had no chance against Jasper's speed and his Golden Blade. "Show him, Jasper, show him who the best duelist is" She spoke to herself but loud enough for him to hear her. It was thrilling to watch them fight and she couldn't help but show it.

Fiyori was trying his best to block and counter as the Golden Prince struck at him, only to get faster and faster making it harder and harder for the Iglasian Prince. Though he held his own and kept his slowing weakness from showing, he was starting to realize that he underestimated Jasper. Fiyori changed tactics and began moving his feet faster to give his arms a break and possibly hide his slowing arms. With his body moving around so much it was easier to block for the moment, if a blow was coming and the blade was already in place, then moving his body to the correct side would successfully block the attack, but how long can such a large man keep up the movement. The Golden Prince was taking large strides and fast strikes to keep the challenging opponent on the move and set him straight, not to underestimate anyone. The golden blade moved through the air like it was part of it, the momentum of his fast body keeping it in motion allowing him to strike quick and true. He noticed that Fiyori had changed tactic and began to move his body around his blade rather than his blade around his body. This however countered Jasper as he moved his body a lot to build his swords momentum, so he couldn't judge where his opponent was gonna stand next. With this new tactic in play the Iglasian Prince was starting to turn the table and noticed as Jasper started to slow down and step carefully. He began to think that Jasper had burnt out his energy to quickly and now had the upper hand, with his arms having a slight rest he switched back to where he began before and started to swing his arms more than moving his feet. Jasper stepped back for the first time and watched where he was blocking, this switching stances and tactics was not something he was used to at all. He adjusted the best he could and let Fiyori take a couple steps forward so his confidence would boost back up, and put his attacks a bit less planned and more cocky. With the blonde boy having a slight rest from attacking it was now time to reveal his secret weapon. Jasper glimpsed at the judge and then at Lumina, taking his eyes off his opponent for two strikes that were well blocked. He turned back towards Fiyori and swung up to block the next attack and force his opponents blade upwards giving him enough time to spin and take a step backwards while tossing his sword into his left hand and raised it at point towards the opposing Prince. Fiyori glanced at the judge who gave no comment and let it proceed, no rule was broken but the duelist, Jasper, knew the consequences for not having access to his short blade. He also noticed that the arm was bleeding at the shoulder, and it was a fresh wound, but it was there before the match. "That arm is wounded, are you sure you want to keep going?" he asked thinking that his other arm was tiring out. "Don't hold back on me now Fiyori, I may be injured but I had the high ground when we started, now the tables are turned, show me your training." He smirked and waited until the boy attacked. With a quick flick of his wrist the attack was automatically turned into a block and the next couple strikes landed as so. But now using his left arm, his blade was hitting harder. The speed matched as his own from before, he waited for the right moment before going all out and boosting his speed beyond what Fiyori could block, but to keep the boy from being harmed Jasper focused on attacking the now limp blade in his hands. He finished the duel by striking the blade onto then switching hands once again only to put the tip of the golden sword near his throat. "I reckon you are finished?" Fiyori stepped back and let the judge proclaim the winner before glaring the blonde prince, "You've changed, you're different on the court compared to before, but you're still just as dangerous if not even more so." He called Vince over and the two left the room. Jasper sheathed his rapier and caught his breath before looking at the two Princesses, "Well, I could use a patch up right about now." ```` A couple hours later after being patched up, Jasper began to plan the rest of the day since the hours were going by before they had planned to leave for EverGlenn. He dressed himself in a formal outfit that consisted of the usual Golden Family colors and patterns while speaking with his sister, "I plan on taking Lumina for an evening dinner outside the palace, we haven't seen each other in some time and I wish to know a little more about her. While I'm gone please don't get yourself into trouble and don't fool around places you shouldn't be. I will be back tonight." He mounted his rapier back onto his belt, but this time with a more decorated sheathe. Used only as formal wear and was typically worn on most occasions. That night Lumina had accepted his invitation and they both left the walls of the palace with no guards. They ate at a small restaurant and spoke with a joyful tone. He wanted to know a bit more about her, how she has been the past couple years, what she likes to do, what her thoughts on Royalty and her future rule in this Kingdom, possibly in EverGlenn, if something were to happen. After dinner and their little date was over, he walked her back to her room and kissed her hand before bidding farewell and returning to his shared bedroom. "How was your night?" He asked noticing as Jemma was brushing her slightly messy hair, knowing she must have been doing something active, "Get into anymore trouble I have to deal with?"

The fight seemed short, Jemma and Lumina had been on the edge of their seats nearly the whole time. The man they had wanted to win had won. Vince was furious, when he saw that his brother had lost he gave Jemma a vicious glare. Jemma smiled at him with no malicious intent, "I'm sorry, my brother is just better, we win, fair and square" She held out her hand for the younger prince. He sneered at her, "your brother cheated" was all he said as he walked over to his brother when he was called. Lumina grinned and moved over to the Golden Princess, "don't listen to Vince, your brother won by using his strength against Fiyori, he did so well" The Iglasian princess placed her hand on Jemma's shoulder. "My twin is the best there is." She stood up, turning her head to smile at Lumina, "Thank you"

Jasper looked to both of them, saying he could use some help with his wound. Jemma and Lumina both laughed, Lumina's laugh more of a giggle, they moved to help Jasper. The judge gave the girls supplies and they both helped each other to wrap up Jasper's wounds which required them to remove his shirt, making Lumina giggle once more. The two princesses finished patching him up and Lumina went her separate way.

------

Jemma was lying on the bed, her arms spread out and her legs together, she was staring at the ceiling while Jasper was getting ready for whatever he was preparing for. He told her he was going out on the town with Lumina and requested that she not get herself into trouble. "Don't worry, Jaspie, I won't do anything you wouldn't do" Jemma laughed to herself and watched as he prepped his rapier. Her brother really was handsome, he'd make a perfect husband for Lumina and someday, King of EverGlenn. Her heart ached, she didn't want them to have to grow up, she wanted the years that she had been away back.

Lumina was overjoyed to be going out on a date with the boy of her dreams. Over the course of their dinner she got to know him better and even got closer to him. The princess desperately wanted him to be hers but knew she would have to wait so that night she contained herself. Maybe she would be able to get to know Jemma better too someday, after all they could become sisters eventually.

When Jasper left, Jemma's sense of adventure and mischief took over. She wanted to go and explore the castle, Fiyori never showed her the place where archers would practice. The princess would have to find it herself. Jemma had changed into a more comfortable, black and gold dress that was the style an older woman would wear which made it somewhat formal in Jemma's case. She found the area where the training grounds and what she found there was interesting to say the least. It was Prince Jaque, the one she had yet to meet personally. To her bewilderment, the prince was standing out in the warm night shooting arrows with what looked like a homemade bow. For a minute or two she watched from the dark, watching how skilled he was in the art that she loved. After which she came out and talked to him, they talked for what felt like hours and finally he challenged her to a friendly little archery duel.

At once she got her stance from a good distance and fired her arrow at the bullseye. "Heh" She smirked at her new friend. Jaque walked to her side, notched an arrow, and pulled back his bowstring. His arrow whizzed through the air and landed perfectly at the bullseye beside hers. She was awestruck, he really was good. The night continued and he matched her score arrow for arrow. It excited her to know someone out there, a human none-the-less, could shoot a bow as well as she could. "You're amazing!" Jemma exclaimed, getting a bit excited and throwing her arm around his neck as she would Jasper. A blush burned her cheeks and she pulled away. "Sorry..."

"Hey, it's alright, Princess, that's how the girls act around here..." Jaque looked a little sad, maybe he was lonely. "It was nice meeting you, I should be going, I don't want you to get in trouble with your brother. Thanks for shooting with me, it was fun"

Jemma nodded slowly. "Right, I'm sorry again. Thank you as well, I had a lot of fun" She took his hand and squeezed it as she knew Lumina would with Jasper. "I hope to see you again the next time I'm in Iglasia, friends?"

"Friends" Jaque smiled sweetly.

The golden princess ran off, returning to her bedroom. She returned to her spot on the bed and continued to stare at the ceiling, trying to brush her hair out with the brush that was on her night stand. "No, of course not. I had a great night."

"Good I'm glad, would hate to have to tell father about any mishaps." Jasper started to change out of his formal attire and replace his clothing with those more suitable for bed. "We leave tomorrow morning, I want to get back home before sunset and tell father of our trip." His head was running with thoughts and plans, a sort of speech to come up with to present to the King. With the new title as an official representation of EverGlenn, he didn't want to let his father down and hoped that he was pleased with the deal made between them and Iglasia. He laid in bed and blew out the candle next to him and spoke to his sister in a quiet tone, "Good night Jemma."

The following morning the two had woken up and quickly started to pack, Jasper was quick to grab his clothes and fold them properly before placing them in their designated chests, then packing away his dueling equipment. Of course he dressed himself accordingly to suit traveling before packing away his belongings. He finished before his sister and asked a maid to come in and take his chest as well as help the Princess. "Jemma I will meet you in the carriage, I must bid farewell to the family." He left the room without another word. What he really meant was that he was going to say goodbye to Lumina.

He approached her door and knocked light enough for her to hear but not to the point where it was intruding. When she opened the door he smiled at her, "Good morning Princess. It is time for my leave, I have no knowledge of when I'll return or when we will see each other again, but let us say it will be soon. I enjoyed your company last night and perhaps something can work out between us." He kissed her hand and left the scene. He started towards the King and wished him good luck with his troubles and that the deal made between the two will be made successfully, after thanking him for his hospitality he walked out to the courtyard where his sister was awaiting him in the carriage.

As the sun started to go down the castle was in view, it has been a week since they were last here and of course, nothing has changed. Once inside he asked his butler to take his belongings to his room while he went to go speak to his father. After meeting with the King and giving him the formal speech about the deal made between the two countries. Mitus was pleased, Jasper's work with dealing with such fragile events proved his worth as a further representation and a future King. "I have spoken with the Caloreans and we agreed to hold the Dueling Championship here in a couple months, prepare yourself, it's your first time." The King spoke before leaving his son. Jasper nodded and returned to his room where his belongings were placed where they belong.

~~~~
As the months went by and the Championship came up, Jasper was not only physically preparing himself but also mentally. He had to keep his cool and try not to reveal his left arm till the final match where he'll most likely need it the most. After a short practice the matches began, Jasper's first match went well and was rather easy. A couple hours later and his next match began, this one was a bit harder, but only because he didn't want to hurt his opponent that much, it was Lumina. After Lumina he had two more matches, the semi-finals with Fiyori, which was easier this time and the opposing duelist was rather scared of Jasper's tactic coming out.
The day ended with that, the final match was against the reigning champion of Calorean who held the title for four years. The match will be held tomorrow midday, Jasper has until then to prepare himself.
"Good night, Jasper"
Jemma had, had a lot of fun with her new friend. It was unfortunate that her brother wanted to leave the next morning. He had woken her up early the next day and told her to prepare to leave. There wasn't much for her to prepare. When she had finally forced herself out of bed, Jemma began to pack the few outfits that she had brought, most of which were dresses that simply needed to be neatly folded and put in her travel trunk. "Ughh" The princess groaned as she attempted to drag her trunk out of the bedroom on her own. Her flowing golden gown tripped her up and she clumsily fell onto the floor with a loud thump. The servants Jasper had asked to help quickly moved to her side to help her up and take her things. "Thank you, but I'm fine, really"
When Jasper left to go say goodbye to who Jemma knew would be specifically Lumina, she walked down a hallway to say goodbye to Jacque and his older brother. Definitely not Vince who was a arrogant little punk in her book. Jemma graciously bid farewell to the princes and headed to the carriage waiting for her and Jasper.
-------
Jasper came to Lumina's room and she was surprised. "Hi Jasper" She did a small curtsey for fun and then he spoke about not knowing when they'd see each other again and she became sad. "What?" Before she could say much else he kissed her hand and departed. "I'll miss you!!" The princess shouted after him.
-------
At last Jasper arrived at the carriage and they rode off, she had fallen asleep once again on the way home, ignoring the slightly bumping ride from rocks and things on the ground. Jemma was excited to go home, she hated leaving, it reminded her of when she was taken away. Once they were inside Jemma helped one of the maids carry her things to her room. Her dresses were apparently very heavy. Jasper was gone, speaking to the King, so Jemma took the time to tidy up her look by brushing her hair, washing her face and changing her clothes. By the time she was done she felt much better than she did in the carriage. However night had begun to fall and she spent most of the night, up reading a book on the Iglasian language that Jacque had gifted to her.
-------
The months passed by quickly for Jemma and at last the Dueling Championship had come. She knew her brother would do well with all the training they had done together. He had even learned how to use a bow and arrow a lot better. Overall he was way more skilled then most of the fighters in the arena. He took his opponents on with much ease, beating Lumina and Fiyori and others quickly. Jemma was swelling with pride she was so happy for Jasper. Even their father, the King, who had come down to watch Jasper fight, was clapping his hands and even cheering a bit he was so excited to see his soon honor their kingdom and make him proud.
After the days matches were over Jemma left the stands after most everyone had already gone. When she got up and moved to the left she bumped into someone and would've fallen down the rows of seats had he not caught her. "Oh, pardon me, I didn't see you there" The voice spoke. When he set her up straight, she stared at him in awe, he was Zanonian, she had never seen one before, but clearly he wasn't an aggressor so she let her guard down. "No, it's okay, I wasn't looking where I was going" She curtseyed, "I'm Princess Jemma, and you are?"
"My name is Damien of Zanonia. Please do not think ill of me Princess, I am not like those scum who wish to do harm to the Kingdom of EverGlenn" He spoke with a genuine smile on his face, but his eyes hid something behind them, something she couldn't understand.
"Lovely to meet you, Damien" Her heart felt strange, like the day she had met Jacque and competed with him to see who was the better archer. Butterflies fluttered around in her stomach. "How did you enjoy the matches?" For some reason she wanted to keep talking to him instead of going down to see her brother.
"Quite well, your brother Prince Jasper is quite the fighter"
The arena room emptied and the castles guests return back to their room where they would be staying for the time of the championship. Jasper was in the middle of talking to the judge making sure everything was arrange for tomorrow's final match. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed his sister talking with a darker man, he turned his head and noticed that the man was Zanonian without a doubt, the skin was extremely tan, his hair dark as well and his poster was not of the same formality as EverGlenn or one of the other neighboring countries.
The Golden Prince nodded at the judge and proceeded over to the two to intervene, "Jemma who is this? I do not take well with those who are at war with our country." Jasper stood with a disapproving look, not really waiting for an answer, but let her speak regardless. "Since my Father has seemed let you in for the Duels, I won't kick you out, enjoy your stay, Damien. Jemma lets go," without another word he left the arena room and headed towards his room. He went to his weapon rack and started to disarm himself so that they may be sharpened later by one of the smiths. He turned to face his sister, "I do not take a liking to any Zanonian in my presence, especially if one is talking to family, I want you to stay away from him."
He took off his vest and started to change his boots to more casual dress shoes, he needed to prepare himself for tomorrow, both mentally and physically. At the moment his body has gone through enough strain and physical output that it was better to just rest and focus on keeping his mentality on his new goal. He has never fought the Elf before and hopes that it won't be too difficult, but if anything should go wrong, he could wield with his left. He headed for the kitchen to grab something to eat, his body was hungry and needed energy to rest his muscles. After returning to his room he continued to keep his mental target on sight before going back to bed and sleeping for the night.
