The image of Vincent in pain flashed through her mind, causing her to frown with shame. "I haven't thanked him for that..." she replied. "He didn't have to do that, to be honest. Between that and what happened in the ring, he'd be better off letting me die, but I guess I shouldn't look at a gift in a horse's mouth, huh? Let him know I say 'thanks'." Smiling calmly and finally remembering that they had food on the table, she decided to put aside her questions until after breakfast. "Let's dig in already. I'll save my questions for later. I'm starving!"

Isaac smiles and turns to his food, only to reach out and take Hayley's hand, looking into her eyes earnestly. "Don't say that anyone would be better off letting you die," he quietly says. "I know that if something would've happened to you...I don't know what I'd do." Suddenly realizing what he was doing, he shakes his head and gives a bashful chuckle, saying, "Oh, uh, sorry...I don't know where that came from. Anyway, you're right, we'd better eat now before it gets cold!"

Hayley blinked for a short moment, clearly not seeing that coming, before sheepishly nodding and turning to her food. What was that just now? she thought. That was... kinda abrupt. Wanting to ward off any indecent thoughts that might came into her mind, she began scarfing her food, thankfully helped by the fact that she hadn't eaten for three days straight. "Yup, having you cook for me was one of the best decision I've made," she remarked with a chuckle. "Y'know, I should probably get back to cooking myself. I gotta do something to repay the favor, especially after all the shit you went through for me."

Isaac was just finishing up his breakfast when Hayley mentioned that she should start cooking again. Swallowing the food he had in his mouth, he chuckles and says, "You don't have to pay me back. It's the least I can do for you letting me stay here." Rising to his feet, he takes picks up his plate and, as he walks back to get seconds, says, "I figured you'd be hungry, so I made extra. Go ahead and help yourself."

As much as she tried not to act like a prisoner who had been starved for months, she couldn't help but accept the offer. Once her plate was cleaned out, she went and grab seconds before heading back to the table. "I swear I could eat a horse! Makes you appreciate what you could get," she jokingly mused and let their breakfast continued in silence. Once her hunger was finally sated, she looked at Isaac with a somewhat fascinated gaze and asked, "Isaac, about the power you saw coming from me... Do you think I could use it, like you could with yours?"

Isaac, who was still in the middle of eating his second helping, takes a moment to think. "I'm not sure," he finally says, looking at Hayley. "The way I see it, you don't have any powers. Instead, that other person you share your head with seems to be the one with the power. Logically, you'd think that you can use her powers, since they're technically yours, but I'm really not sure." Shrugging, he looks at her apologetically and adds, "I'd help you out if I could, but I have no idea how we can go about finding out. Sorry."

Hayley was rather nonchalant about his theory on her power, knowing full well that not even she had any idea whatsoever about said power, let alone how to use it. "It's okay. We'll figure something out eventually," she replied and calmly washed off her throat with a glass of water. "Besides, even if I could use it, I'm still gonna have to start from square one with no fucking instruction manual to work with. Might as well take it easy and don't think too much into it. I'm sure that other me would show her hide if she has to."

"Yeah," Isaac replies, finishing his breakfast. As he puts his plate in the sink for later washing, he says, "If you do end up being able to use your power, let me know. I could probably help you out, unless the other you has dibs on that." Turning back to his friend, he walks back to his seat, but instead of sitting down, he leans forward on the back of the chair. "So, all that aside, do you have any big plans for the two of us today?"

"Given what you've told me about her, I'd rather stick with you instead. Wouldn't want her reprogramming my head or anything..." Hayley shuddered upon the thought of having to meet her other self, especially if she was as cold and ruthless as Isaac said. Hearing his question about their activity for the day, she sighed and mulled over what they could do when an idea sprung into her mind. "How about we go out for a walk? Just to get some fresh air and probably hang around. I definitely need to move around after three days of being as still as a log. What do you think?"

Isaac smiles and says, "Sure, that sounds like a good idea." Pushing himself off of the chair, he walks over to where his overcoat was and dons it, slipping his hands into his pockets as he waits for Hayley. Once they were both ready, he opens the door out of her apartment and follows her to street level. Taking a deep breath, he lets out a pleased sigh at the feeling of the fresh air in his lungs and the sun on his skin. "So, where should we go?" he asks.

The blonde shrugged and replied, "I dunno. Let's just walk around wherever we like, probably grab some snacks while we're at it. Why don't we go to the center of the city? It's where the park is and there are lots of food trucks around. Not the healthiest food in the world, but they're quite tasty. It would be nice to see something other than steel, glass and concrete for once." Although she had given her suggestion, she was more than content to follow Isaac around as it was the primary reason why she wanted to go out to begin with.

Isaac nods and says, "Sounds good. It'll be nice to see trees instead of lampposts." Leading the way, he begins walking toward the center of town. Looking around at everyone else going about their own lives, he can't help but feel a pang of jealousy. It must be nice being able to just walk around without worrying about anything like what we worry about, Isaac says. But the problem with that, Vincent responds, is that it's boring! As they walk, Isaac's hand, as if with a will of its' own, drifts over to Hayley's and gently curls around it. After noticing that his hand was somewhat warmer than usual, he looks down, sees his hand holding Hayley's, and pulls it away, hoping she didn't notice, as well as hoping his red cheeks haven't given him away if she didn't.

As they walked along the street, Hayley took her time to actually look around, watching people come and go. She noticed how they seemed to be too consumed with their daily lives to pass a glance around, to break away momentarily from their routine-like life. It made her feel somewhat grateful that she led a life with little to no restraint, moreso now that she had someone she could connect with. Turning to look at Isaac, she noticed his red cheek, but was oblivious to his hold on her hand before he broke it off. "Isaac, are you okay?" she asked with a tilt of her head and a curious gaze.

"Huh?" Isaac says, turning toward Hayley. Realizing she must be asking him about his red cheeks, he rubs the back of his head with a nervous chuckle and says, "Oh, it's, uh...it's nothing, really. I'm fine." Looking ahead, he sees the park just down the street, surrounded by food trucks of various types. Pointing ahead, grateful for the distraction, he says, "Hey, looks like we're already here! What are you hungry for? Personally, I could go for a taco or two."

"Wow, we got here fast," Hayley remarked with a light chuckle. "Maybe I'll go for a foot long sandwich. Been wanting something meaty for a while." With a soft smile, she glanced at the park, filled with people and animals roaming around and enjoying the natural scenery amidst the forest of buildings. "It's kinda nice that they have a place like this, a good change from all these drab and boring towers and shit..."

"You can say that again," Isaac replies, breathing a sigh of relief that Hayley had apparently forgotten about his flustered moment, which gave him enough time to get rid of the flush that had been in his cheeks. Looking around, he sees a sandwich truck and says, "We may as well go get your sandwich, first, since it's closer." As he leads her to the truck, Vincent, having decided not to let him off so easily, says, You know, you two may as well be on a date! This sentence was enough to make Isaac's face flare up once again, which resulted in him suddenly becoming very interested in the tree next to him to hide his blush.

Hayley nodded and scanned the menu list long enough for Isaac to let blood run down from his cheeks. Oblivious to what he was thinking, she turned to him and asked, "I honestly have no clue what to order. They all sound good... Maybe you can recommend something for me?" she asked, "Also, are you sure you're okay? No offense, but you're acting a little bit strange, Isaac. Are you sick?" Tilting her head curiously, she began to wonder if taking him out with her was such a good idea to begin with. The alst thing she want was to worsen his health, not after what he did for her.

Isaac was still staring at the tree when he heard Hayley's voice again. Turning to her, his cheeks still slightly red, he chuckles again and, telling a half-truth, says, "Oh, I'm fine, Vincent's just being his usual self." Hey! Vincent yells. It's not like you weren't thinking it, too! Ignoring him, Isaac then says, "You know, I'm actually in the mood for a sandwich, too. Do you have anything you could recommend, Hayley?"

Shaking her head at his bizarre, yet amusing behavior, Hayley glanced back at the menu list and replied somewhat absent-mindedly, "I'm either gunning for a Meatball Marinara or a BLT, but I don't feel like choosing today. Maybe we should buy both, then share each halves? I don't know..." Smiling sheepishly, she looked at Isaac and gently nudged his shoulder. "Well, we still have a bit of money to spend today, so don't worry too much about it."

"You sure?" Isaac asks, knowing that they were starting to get low into Hayley's emergency fund. However, looking at her face, he knows that she was sure. Turning to the man in the truck, he says, "We'll take a meatball marinara and a BLT, please." The man nods and gets to work making their food. Once both sandwiches were made, Isaac takes them, thanks the man, and leads Hayley away from the truck, asking, "Is there anything else you wanna get or should we eat our sandwiches, first?"
