I'd just say that if you want to make a post, then go ahead and make one. We don't really have a posting order, and if there's conversation your character can reply to, or something you think they'd want to say, then go ahead and post. It beats waiting around, and it might give someone else an 'in' to make a post.

Just got a post up. Hopefully I didn't get anything wrong regarding checking the aircraft and such.

Geez, how many of us are still left?

I'm not sure, but there's more than a couple of people who are very much in danger of dropping below have dropped below the 'one post per week' limit and will get booted if they don't make a post, since they haven't said why they're not making one.
If people suddenly turn up when the action starts up again, then I'm going to be unimpressed. This isn't a 'Free' RP :P

Looking at the list of players, Winter hasn't made a post since the game began, and neither has Damo021. So, they're getting the boot. Slypheed also seems to have disappeared again as well. Nautilus also said that they'll be away for a few weeks. So, we're down to six again (or more like five and a half ¬.¬) Edited the OP to suit.

Not a great deal has occurred since you've been away - IC we all had a bite to eat and briefly discussed our situation and there was a little conversation of getting to know one another, and then Ariella dismissed everyone for a cursory check of their aircraft or to return to the barracks while she got an update and info on our destination and upcoming missions. Then everyone was instructed to strap down for the ship to engage it's Supercavitation engine. That done, we unstrapped and Ariella advised she'd be conducting a briefing shortly. The brings things up to speed.

And I wasn't aware of your gender. It's a lot quicker to write 'they' than 'he or she' every time you're mentioning someone. Now I know, I won't have to, will I?

I have FINALLY made a new post with the briefing, detailing what our mission will be - or is meant to be, at least... hopefully it will be to everyone's taste, and should keep things moving.
Can't believe we're down to only five aircraft... that's a pretty poor showing from how many we began with. I'm hoping that we might get a couple of new players if we keep things going.

Nautilus, I also corrected your character sheet link in the OP - for some reason I'd accidentally linked it to Winters' sheet - sorry about that, and I've now corrected the link >.<;;

Dammit, someone, somewhere in the country must've insulted God/Zeus/whatever deity hard...It's been raining a LOT in the last two days. Not just regular raining, but all-inclusive stuff you know, with lightning, thunder and all the rest. And because of this, my internet connection has been unstable too, which is the main reason I was semi-inactive in my RPs. When I ACTUALLY got connection with reasonable speed, I had to use it for school/RL stuff. So yeah, I'm pretty pissed. Here's hoping this god-forsaken weather (oh yeah, it's supposedly summer here btw) goes somewhere FAR and FAST.

Soo, according to weather reports, this huge storm cloud should be slowly moving away. About damn time! If all goes well, a post will be up tomorrow.

IC related, how are exactly these recon missions carried out? I assume the pilot controls the recon pods which are able to take pictures of the targets? I apologize for my lack of expertise on the field, just want to get everything clear.

Regarding the employment of recon pods and devices, I think it depends on the particular device. Most recon camera pods are high-resolution digital cameras (either still photo or video, or even both), and from what I understand, they have an array of cameras pointing to both sides at an angle, as well as straight down, as they're usually carried on the centreline pylon of an aircraft. The aircraft flies a straight-and-level course and the pilot triggers the camera to begin recording at an interval, and then stops it after they've passed over the target area. I imagine with modern and up-to-date systems, GPS would play a part in knowing when to start and stop the recording too.
The tricky part is not getting shot down by all the air defences or fighters that will be coming after you while you're flying around in straight lines...

Mateotis answered the question - you're free to join in and get a character up... as long as you ACTUALLY POST. We've had a lot of problems with people posting characters, being really into it, and then dropping out after one or less posts.
IF you're actually going to join in, then you're more than welcome.

OK, I can't straight-up port Miku since the JMSDF doesn't have fixed wing aircraft outside of MPA.

Unless we're setting this in an AU where the Izumo can launch Lightnings.

Read the background - it'd be hard for it not to be more of an AU.
Be creative with the background - there's been a lot of unification of forces and cross-training. I'm sure that fitting in some aircraft carrier training should be a breeze.
