I really procrastinated on this form, which is why it's in so late. Sorry about that. :P (Also, yes, I know the backstory is wonderfully nonsensical and rather vague...) Anyway, is there anything you'd want me to change on the form...?
Name: Artemis "Cuckoo" Eira
Appearance:
Anything different from picture above?: Artemis always wears a pair of glasses, with somewhat gaudy looking red rims at the sides. It should probably also be noted that he relies heavily on these, not being able to see much without them. Otherwise, he also has a slight smattering of freckles across his face, as mostly seen on his nose bridge and cheeks.
Magic Power: His abilities mostly involve the amplifying and nullification of sound, although he mostly uses it to block out any excess noise. Although this power involves some control over sound waves, his powers are actually quite limited. He can also send small amounts of sound through objects / matter (water, walls, etc.), although this is so insignificant it’s pretty much useless. Another limit is him being able to project the sound only to about a three metre radius, and even that takes up most of his energy. Also, the sound continues traveling until it hits an object – then, it’s just absorbed into it.
(It’s also impossible for him to create any sort of physical object with it, and can only manipulate sound from an already existing sources.) Using the waves as sonar doesn’t work, either.
How he/she became insane: Artemis’ insanity has set on only recently – about a week or so before the roleplay takes place. He was alone with a babysitter at home one evening (his parents were working overtime) when an accident took place in the factory they worked in. There was a relatively small explosion that occurred, as a result of this, as well. Although it physically didn't reach very far and was only within the confines of the factory, the sound could be heard throughout the entire neighborhood. (It was so loud he could've sworn the ground shook a little.) Artemis, mind clouded with worry, didn't think as he sprinted out of the house towards the factory. He couldn't see anything at first through all the smoke, but as it cleared, he saw that it had been blown to smithereens. The only thing left aside from the rubble was a charred, unidentifiable corpse. Afterwards, Artemis started to stay inside his room all day not coming out at all. Eventually, one day, he completely lost it as one of his neighbors was loudly blasting their music on their stereo. Artemis went outside, going up to them and repeating stabbing them with a sharpened clock hand.
Insanity Traits:
- He can’t stand excessive noise of
any sort. It’ll cause him to completely lose it and attack the source relentlessly until it’s stopped.
- He's also extremely easy to upset, as even a slight trigger will cause him to go over the edge.
- There also seems to be a mildly sadistic side to him (but only when he's lost it), as he then enjoys seeing others in pain.
- Artemis also has an obsession with anything that has a steady, monotonous rhythm – clocks, cogwheels, etc.
- Strangely enough, he’s also quite naïve, not unlike a small child.
Country of origin: Finland
Backstory/History: Artemis' parents were a couple in Finland who, after not being able to have a child for many years, decided to finally adopt one. Both of them worked in a factory that produced mainly clock parts, cogwheels and other gears of the sort. His parents were rather controlling as he grew up with him being home schooled and scarcely knowing any of his neighbors. His family never really encouraged him to ‘grow up’ like all the other parents did, either. In fact, they almost seemed to be desperate for him to remain in the mentality of a child. Another one of the things his parents seemed to emphasize were manners. Artemis, however, never really caught on, and to this day, him trying to sound polite just sounds more like insincerity than anything else.
Personality: Curious, mildly naïve, sadistic, likes to be kept entertained (hates boredom to an almost extreme level). Also seems to have a thing for being overly polite to the point where he seems insincere. This attitude is usually accompanied by an extremely stiff, unwavering smile.
How long has your character been in Smile Asylum?: Artemis is one of the newer ones at the asylum, having been there for a week or so.
Trinkets: A tiny metal cogwheel with rather ornate details, formerly part of a cuckoo clock. It appears to be rather chipped at the edges.
