Bruce visibly tensed, Hank nodded at Max. Before turning around to the stove again. she died when i was a pup few human hunters found the place where she was taking care of me when we making the treck back to the house we were in wolf form the hunters aimed there gun at me and my mother got in front of me protecting me the hunter shot they said to leave so they could come back with a cage she bled out and i ran back to the house. Bruce let out a shaky breath, before shaking his head getting that image out of his head.

I`m sorry that happened to her. I can sort of understand how that must of felt. My parents were murdered when I was a little girl. They wouldn`t even let me say goodbye to them at their funeral. Max replied looking down at the counter in front of her. She couldn`t remember what her parents looked like. All she knew was that they never found the murderer and she had been with her uncle at the time of the murder.

Bruce only nodded, he looked back up. He saw hank getting plates ready, "so Hank how are you and Jessica?" Hank smiled "really Bruce you had to bring that up now?" hank sighed when Bruce nodded, "were good Bruce were good." Bruce smiled, "just making sure shes treating you right no one messes with my pack and gets away with it hank you know that after years of living with my dad."

Max looked at Hank. Jessica must be his mate she gathered. Was she not of the pack? It made her a little curious about it. Although it wasn`t really her place to ask about someone she just met. Looking over at Bruce he really did seem like an alpha. It made sense that he was the son of one. Though she wouldn`t say that to him directly.

Hank only shook his head as he set a plate down in front of Bruce, "we've had vampires skirting around our territory looking for weak spots." Bruce sighed, Hank set another plate of food down in front of Max, "so it has begun looks like the war has started i was wondering when they would be brave enough to skirt around our territory." He looked up at Hank, "just make sure the others are ready for what's to come in the days following if we have the vampires going around our territory then that means the humans won't be that far behind on skirting around the vamps territory. Dad always said this day would come, we'll have to let my dad know i'll call him this afternoon he should be here by the evening." He started eating after he finished his sentence.

Max listened to their conversation as she started eating. The smell of it was right the food was really good. It tasted even better with how hungry she was. Although she couldn`t sit there enjoying it knowing that the war was going to be happening really soon. The war made her nervous, yet at the same time protective. She wanted to make sure no one tried to hurt the lycans of this pack.

Bruce looked up from his food, "I don't know how far they are from here but I know there scouting our territory Bruce that's what I'm getting from the other packs." Bruce nodded at hanks words, "I'll make sure the packs ready for what's to come and that they'll know what were up against Hank I don't need you telling them because I am alpha after all."

Max finished the food on her plate before standing up from her seat. She looked at Bruce. "I`m going to go look around for awhile." She said and looked at Hank. "Thank you for breakfast." Max said before walking towards the door and walking outside closing it behind her. She needed to get some fresh air and get to know the area. If she stayed inside all the time it would be to her disadvantage. Plus it wasn`t like she was going to go far.

Bruce watched her go, brother wolf was protesting like always when he let her out of his sight. He reassured brother wolf that she could handle her own and with the pack bond he would know if she got herself into trouble or not. With that brother wolf shut up, knowing what Bruce had said he was right.

Max walked around looking around the area and trying to remember distinct features. She started to in the direction of her uncle`s house. If he wasn`t home she planned to get some of her stuff and her truck. When she got her truck she planned to take it to a location where no one would find it and take the keys with her. Her uncle wouldn`t let her just walk right in and pretend nothing was different then before. He`d ask where she`d been all this time. Then when she didn`t give a straight answer he`d most likely turn her into the cops. Her uncle didn`t mess around when it came to criminals. By law standards she was one.

Bruce went for a run after he had gotten done with breakfast, he had a feeling that max was going back to her uncles house. He looked out from where he was seeing that he was home he quickly grabbed the attention of her uncle and ran the other way. The man following behind him, he forgot the gun which was good and Bruce had good stamina so he could last for a few hours running.

Max used the house key to unlock the door and went inside. Going straight down the hall in to her room she grabbed her suitcase and quickly put clothes and a few personal items into it before grabbing her car keys. Running outside she locked the door and got into her car trying to start it. The transmission was giving her problems again but eventually it started and she drove down the road. She`d noticed when she was in the driveway that her uncle`s car was there. Although she hadn`t smelled him in the house so she just hurried up.
He followed after Bruce after seeing the wolf that`d been here a few days ago. The one he`d called the police on. If he followed after it he knew he`d find his niece. Max had been missing for days. Not even the police had a trace of her. He had a good feeling the werewolf had done something to her. They just never learned. He had hand guns in both of his pockets. One filled with silver bullets and the other wood with metal plating to keep it from exploding the gun. He knew the war was happening soon. He`d seen the vampires the day after Max`s disappearance with the lycan he was following now. He hoped Max was still human. If that werewolf had turned her then there would be problems.

Bruce glanced over his shoulder seeing the guns, he took a sharp turn he stopped at the cliff it had been a few hours brother wolf was screaming at him not to jump. He jumped anyway seeing the water below him, he shifted in the middle of the fall diving into the water. He soon came back up swimming to the bank he started running back to the house soaking wet.

Max took a turn to a road that lead into the forest. She drove as far as she could and then drove a bit carefully through the woods avoiding trees. After that she got out and took her suitcase with her before locking the truck and walking towards the pack`s house. She knew it`d be faster if she shifted and ran to the house but she knew that was a bad idea. Already having problems shifting wasn`t going to do any good for her. Hey Max, Sena said in her head sounding concerned. What is it Sena? Max asked. I sense venom in your blood again. I don`t know why, it`s like it just keeps coming back. Sena said fearfully. Wait it`s there again! Max yelled getting worried.
He took on the cliff looking down into the water cursing under his breath before turning around and leaving towards his house again. When the war started he`d kill that lycan. He smelled a familiar metallic smell in the air, something was bleeding. His eyes slowly went from brown to red with his fangs appearing. So far masking the scent of being a vampire had been working. No one around him or his home had ever noticed. The only thing he regretted was letting that Brian kid live and not killing him for good himself.

Bruce sat on the porch, not bothering to go change his clothes he was still soaking wet. He looked out to the forest, seeing max approaching. He didn't bother to get up, when she was coming toward the porch. He was still soaking wet from the jump he did. He was glad that he didn't break any bones in that fall he did into the river below.

Max walked over to the porch and walked up the steps before looking down at him setting her suitcase down. "Why are you soaking wet?" She asked confused considering the only body of water around here were the cliffs about a mile away from her uncle`s house. She was going to let him explain before she assumed though.

He told her what he had did, he looked straight ahead he knew all to well he was gonna get a tongue lashing. His father always did it when he did stupid stunts like the one he pulled today. He sighed, still looking straight ahead. Brother wolf was also quiet which wasn't often.

"What were you thinking! Cause no he doesn`t want you dead or anything! Let`s just go and distract him, then when that almost fails jump off a cliff!" Max yelled not believing what she`d just heard. Someone`s going to get it. Sena said amused. Shut up Sena! Max yelled in her angrily. "I would have just gone back later if I had sensed him in the house Bruce!"

Bruce just sighed not saying a word, he had learned from his father to just take it. He sighed before looking at the ground, he didn't utter a word as he took the hits she was dealing to him. He may be alpha, but his father had been rough on him, he just stared at his boots.

"Can you please give me some explanation? You knew where I was and you would know if I was in trouble so why did you decide to put yourself in danger?" Max asked and sat down next to him on the steps. Her blood was boiling right now. That was one of the stupidest stunts she`d seen him do. She covered her eyes with her hands as she tried to calm herself down. Honestly she wanted to throw something she was so pissed. "What the hell were you thinking?" She said quietly.
