In the distant future, humanity is engaged in an all-out-war with an extraterrestrial threat known as the Elviens: an astonishingly human-like race of galactic conquerors hellbent on enslaving every last sentient species in the Milky Way Galaxy. To combat this powerful new threat, the world's militaries gathered together their best minds and resources to advance human weaponry further than any other time in history. Now, humanity's most powerful armament against the Elvien threat are massive combat mechs designed to be piloted by trained individuals. However, while weapon technology had advanced far, the capabilities of soldiers to wield these new armaments were far from adequate. This dilemma gave rise to the establishment of Knight Academies: military schools intended to train elite soldiers capable of wielding the new weapons including piloting the ARMA - the combat mechs. Valiant Arms centers around one particular Knight Academy - Fortress Cavalot - and the lives of a few individual Squires who are training to become full-fledged Knights.
History
In the year 2770, the military forces of Earth had all received a disturbing message: what looks to be a fleet of extraterrestrial warships were headed Earth's way. While at this point humans have confirmed the existence of alien life forms, they have never witness another form of sentient life in the galaxy; and this one seemed to possess technology beyond what humans had at the time. Even more alarming was the fact that this new race was heading in Earth's path transported by warships. The prospect of possible alien warfare pushed Earth's military forces into a panicked state. They attempt to communicate with their possible visitors but to no avail, and thus, their only choice left was to prepare for a possible invasion. They assumed correctly. Once the warships arrived, they immediately attacked without a warning of any sort let alone any attempts at communication. The initial display of shock and awe proved very effective. Earth's military forces scrambled to regain control of the situation but this process unfortunately took them several days. By then, many cities have been leveled while others sustained massive damage.
Approximately a week after the initial attack, Earth's militaries managed to force the invaders to retreat; three of their warships were destroyed in the process. Earth's militaries recognize that the invaders were only a small fleet designed to test the effectiveness of Earth's resistance and would soon be back to finish the job. With this in mind, Earth's militaries gathered together the world's greatest inventors and defense contractors. Backed with a near limitless amount of resources, they began work on new armaments and defense technologies in preparation for future invasions. In just a short timeline of five decades, weapon technology had advanced to a point beyond any other advancement in previous centuries. In the next decade or so, this time, the invaders made contact with Earth. Speaking with Earth's most common language - English - the invaders introduced who they were and their plans for Earth.
Elviens - as they call themselves - hail from the planet Elve in the far reaches of the Milky Way Galaxy. They are surprisingly similarly to humans in appearance with a few major differences: they possess dark, greyish skin, pointed ears, and golden eyes. They physical features were slightly longer and more slender than humans and they were generally taller than the average person by about two or three feet. Overall, they have a haunting beauty about them. They described themselves as a race of conquerors traveling the galaxy to enslave the inferior sentient races. After already conquering numerous alien species, they have now set their sights on Earth and humanity. Any attempts at reasoning with the Elviens proved futile. Nothing could sway their goal. Once communications between both sides were cut, humanity knew they had no choice but to go to war with the Elviens, and so they did. At first, the Elviens were surprised by the advancement in human weaponry but as a race highly experienced in war against other sentient life forms, victory favored their side. Coupled with the fact that soldiers were inexperience in using their new weapons, the outcome looked fairly grim for humanity.
Enter Sir Ian Malory, a genius weapons engineer and military mind that held a prominent part in the creation of the new armaments including the massive combat mechs called the ARMA. He led the establishment of special military academies all around the world to help train a new generation of elite soldiers capable of wielding the new advance weaponry; he called these schools Knight Academies. Malory chose the Knight symbolism due to the ideas they represented to him: honor, duty, bravery, and hope. By the year 2870 - a century after the initial spotting of the Elvien warships - the Knight Academies have successfully trained tens of thousands of Knights to fight back against the Elvien threat. The training paid off as humanity slowly reclaimed their footing in the war and are now nearly on even ground with the Elviens. Even so, the war is far from being won by humanity. At Fortress Cavalot - a Knight Academy located on the man-made Meridien Isles - a new class of Squires have arrived in order to begin their training and eventual ascension into knighthood. One of these Squires is a young man by the name of Roy Gannes and, like a few other particular Squires, Roy seems to possess a powerful, innate synergy with his ARMA, Alexander. The legend of Roy Gannes and his fellow aspiring Knights begin.

1) Valiant Arms is a rated PG-13 RP. It contains a low/medium amount of blood and gore, a medium amount of explicit language, and a low/very low amount of sexual content.
2) Regarding character creation, feel free to be as creative as you want in terms of appearance, personality, abilities, etc. There are no restrictions when it comes to naming your character as long as it's not something inappropriate or lacks sense. As for the appearance of your character, it is up to you to dictate how they look but do keep in mind that when it comes to their attire, your character will require a description or picture of their battle armor. All battle armors come equipped with Launch Boots and ARMA Bracelet. The Launch Boots are footwear equipped with rocket boosters to propel your character into the air when they are preparing to enter their ARMA. The ARMA Bracelet is used to remotely alert the ARMA to travel to your character's location. The process of entering an ARMA is as follows: your ARMA will detect the signal of your bracelet, scan the bracelet's recognition bands, if the bracelet is successfully identified, the chest hatch on the ARMA will open and metal arms will automatically pull your character into the control center.
3) Magic will play a role later on within the RP so keep this in mean if you want your character to be able to utilize magic.
*If you still have any questions or if I am missing anything, please feel free to contact me in either the OOC or through PM.*

1. Valiant Arms (勇ましい•剣戟; Isamashī Kengeki): The title of the RP. The title is a reference to the ARMA within the RP, describing them as brave and alluding to the knight imagery they provoke.
2. Knight(s): Knights are the central focus of the RP. A Knight within this world is an elite soldier with a mastery of the advanced weapons created to combat against the Elvien threat. Out of 100,000 Squires that enter a Knight Academy, only around 5000 will successfully become Knights in the average time span of two years.
3. Squire(s): Knights in training, Squires have adequate knowledge of the advance human weaponry and can use those weapons with proficiency. Squires will sometimes be under the special mentoring of Knights who have deemed them worthy of personally training.
4. Knight Academy: Special military schools established by Sir Ian Malory to train elite soldiers capable of wielding the new arsenal of advance weaponry designed to combat the Elvien threat.
5. Fortress Cavalot: The primary setting in which Valiant Arms takes place. It is a Knight Academy located on the Meridien Isles and is established as being one of the best of its kind with a success rate of 78% in terms of successfully training new Knights. The name "Cavalot" is a combination of the terms "Camelot" and "Avalon", both being legendary locations within Arthurian legend.
6. ARMA: Massive combat mechs created to be humanity's strongest weapon against the Elviens. Each ARMA is piloted by one person, generally a Knight or Squire. Many ARMA are unique to their pilots, possessing weaponry and abilities differentiating themselves from other ARMA even in the same model line. While the majority of ARMA are human-like in appearance, ARMA can be designed in basically any form. Entering an ARMA is a very quick and seamless process that usually only takes about ten seconds. The word "ARMA" is a shorthand for armament and is also a reference to the word "armor".
7. Sir Ian Malory: The creator of Knight Academies and lead designer on many of the new advance weaponry including the ARMA. Sir Ian Malory was a genius and revolutionary mind at the time of the Elviens' invasion. He died of old age after the establishment of the Knight Academies.
8. Elvien(s): An alien race hailing from the planet, Elve. They are self-described as "galactic conquerors" who are on a mission to enslave all the sentient races within the Milky Way Galaxy. Their primary reason for doing so is still a mystery. Elviens are remarkably human-like in appearance with only a few distinguishing features including: dark, greyish skin, pointed ears, golden eyes, and physical features that are slightly longer and more slender than humans; they are also generally taller than the average person by about two or three feet. They are described to possess a haunting beauty about them. Elviens are based on Elves usually found in fantasy; specifically in this case, Dark Elves.
9. Meridien Isles: A collection of man-made islands with the largest island being home to the Knight Academy, Fortress Cavalot. Its location is kept as a strictly guarded secret as with the majority of other Knight Academies.
*More terms and updates on already-existing terms may be added as the story progresses.*
