Bruce only laughed in his mind, before falling asleep. Soon the rest of the pack came in, peter shifted and took a look at Bruce. Looking him over, "he should be fine in a few days time the bullet didn't go deep but it still went in."
Max nodded sitting down in the chair. "Peter could you help me get the one in my leg out. I wrapped it to stop the bleeding." She said weakly. She knew if she'd tried herself it wouldn't have ended well. Plus she had to make sure he was okay before she tried to go off and do anything.
Peter nodded, before getting down on one knee. Unwrapping the bandage, he looked up at max. "This is gonna hurt so brace yourself." With that he quickly went in for the bullet before finding it and easing it out. Once that was done, he rewrapped her leg.
Max closed her eyes and gritted her teeth as the bullet was taken out. Once it was out she opened her eyes as the sharp pain was out now. She looked at Peter. "Thank you," she managed to say and leaned back.
"No problem, it's kinda my job since I am the one that usually fixes up the pack." With that he walked to his room, a loud string of curses followed by David's name. David laughed, "I just had to he got coated in loo laid I just saw that we weren't drinking the koi laid so I finally used it."
Max laughed softly as Peter cursed seeing that it was already going to be a lot of fun living here. She looked at David. "You just couldn't resist could you?" She asked him smiling.
David shook his head, "nope Bruce always said I could just be myself since I didn't really have a pack before this one I think of this pack as my family even though Bruce can get really serious if he has to. I basically covered his whole floor in the koolaide by the sound of it he slipped and fell on the floor."
Max smiled. "Good prank, although who's cleaning it up?" She asked and leaned back. "It's good that you think of everyone as your family though I hope one day I can do the same. For now I'm still getting used to things."
David nodded to that, he sighed as he realized he would be the one cleaning it up. Bruce's breathing was steady as he slept off what had happened to him. It had been awhile since he got a good sleep, from all the nightmares he usually had.
Max looked over at Bruce just thinking to herself. She wondered what would have happened if she hadn`t seen him on time. If she`d gone through that whole fight without noticing that he was shot and dying. Shaking her head she attempted to get the thoughts out of her head knowing they`d only upset her. He was safe now, she seen him, that`s all that matters.
After a few hours passed, Bruce slowly woke up. He was still in his wolf form and he didn't try to shift not with how bad he was in of a condition. He looked around, seeing that he was in the living room he looked around a bit more till he saw max right beside the couch.
At this point Max was asleep with her head on her shoulder. Everyone had gone to bed at some point and she`d just fallen asleep from staying by herself. She was also dead tired from the fight and from blood loss.
Bruce let out a snort, before he fell back asleep for the night. By morning, he was still out cold. He wasn't in any shape to move for now in a few days time he would be able to move again. Though he wouldn't trust himself yet though not with how hurt he was from battle.
Max was still asleep the next morning although the hustle of everyone eventually woke her up and she looked around before carefully getting up and cracking her neck. Sleeping sitting up hadn`t been a smart decision. She looked around and then down at Bruce. Walking around she tried to look for someone that could help her move Bruce up to his room. She wasn`t going to let him sleep on the couch for the next couple days.
Hank was just starting to get breakfast done, while peter worked on patching the rest of the pack up. David wasn't really doing anything, just sitting down at one of the chairs at the table and looking around. The rest of the pack was busy trying to find out what they should do without Bruce up and running they knew max would be the second in command.
Max saw that David wasn`t doing anything and walked up to him. "I was wondering if you could help me move Bruce up to his room?" She asked politely. She couldn`t exactly carry the man by herself even if he was in wolf form. Carrying him in her own wolf worm was a trouble enough. It always took a lot of effort and was under an adrenaline rush so far.
David looked up to max, "yah I can help you with that we just got to make sure we don't drop him flat on his face I don't think he would like that." He joked on the last part, before walking over to where Bruce was. "Alright I get the front you get the back of him."
Max nodded and picked up the side he told her too. She knew this was easier said then done type of thing. Carrying a full grown lycan upstairs didn`t seem like a super easy task to do. Even so it had to be done because it wouldn`t do good for him to be on the couch.
David grabbed the other side of Bruce, once they were at Bruce's door to his room he opened it and set Bruce down gently on the bed itself. He looked at his alpha, it was good to see him sleep like this and getting some rest would do some good for him. He walked out of the room closing the door behind him.
Max sat down on the other side of the bed and look down at her toes wiggling them around then she looked out the window a couple feet away. She wondered how many people died out there on the battle field. Also whether more would come for vengeance. It seemed like the strong thing for someone to do. Like a hero in a story book.
