Here's the OOC. This is the link to the Interest Check: http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/57877/posts/ooc

I have provided details in the Interest Check. Anyway, here's my character.

Name: Kemek
Sex: Male
Age: 20 (or whatever the equal is in goblin years)
Height: About 4 feet tall
Skin: Green
Eyes: Blue
Hair: None
Clothing: Long pants with a loincloth underneath. No shirt or footwear.
Miscellaneous: He has three fingers and a thumb per hand, and four toes per foot, as with many goblin subspecies.

Background: Born to the Shadowstream tribe of goblins, Kemek is rather typical of his tribe. He works in the grain fields common to the tribe, and hunts for meat and animal hides when he isn't needed in the fields. In the Shadowstream tribe, grain is farmed in a large common farm, from which a cut is distributed to each family, with portions varying depending on the number of family members and how many children the family has. As Kemek lives alone, his cut isn't that large, but he doesn't need much grain to live on, especially since he supplements his diet with hunted game. His style of clothing is typical for males of the tribe. Females in his tribe usually just go with a loincloth and a top to cover their chest, while the chief wears jewelry and the shaman uses a robe. Paint and tattoos are not uncommon in the tribe, but Kemek doesn't have any, though he plans to get a tattoo if he becomes anyone important and he sometimes uses war paint during a raid or skirmish.

Kemek's tribe occasionally fights the others nearby, in the name of some territorial violation. The real motives for such conflicts are usually for food. While a few pitched battles are fought, these "wars" normally amount to little more than a raid for some livestock, attempts to steal stored grain in a time of famine, or a conflict involving a handful of deaths. Outright destruction of another village is unusual in this region, and prisoners of war (who can be forced to work for the tribe which captured them) are normally let go or are exchanged when hostilities cease. The Shadowstream have a reputation for being skilled with spears and very pragmatic, but little else. Their magic is limited to the shaman and his apprentice, and their skill with weapons other than the spear is lacking. That said, some of the chief's sons and a few others are skilled with swords and hand axes.

Kemek's childhood was simple: his parents were farmers and he helped them and his siblings in the fields from a very young age. His mother and father are still alive and active in the tribe, but he has lived by himself for some time, and he is seeking to start a family of his own someday in the not too distant future. While marital practices vary greatly between goblins tribes and clans, the Shadowstream tribe mostly practices monogamy, although the chief has more than one wife. Marriage ceremonies are simple: the male and female declare their willingness to spend their lives together, and pending the approval of their families, the shaman declares them wed in a simple ritual. Separation of couples is rare and it occurs almost exclusively for reasons of infidelity or infertility.

His tribe's namesake is the nearby stream, unsurprisingly named the Shadowstream. This body of water is a tributary which feeds into a larger river some kilometers away. Due to the shade of the forest near the water, it gained the epithet "shadow stream", which was later shortened to one word. While the stream has some salmon, relatively few goblins fish from it for fear of depleting the limited amount sustenance it has.

The Shadowstream tribe is ruled by a chief who consults with a shaman. The shaman may be of either sex, but the chief is always male. The traditions of the tribe provide for a contest to be held to determine which male is the strongest following the death of a previous chief. While sons of a chief are treated with more respect than most, the chiefdom is not hereditary, although it is not uncommon for the victor of the contests to be a son of a chief, especially if he has been preparing a favored son to succeed him.

As with the rest of his tribe, Kemek fights when he war threatens, but he isn't a devoted warrior. Kemek fights and hunts with a simple wooden spear tipped with an iron spearhead. He lives in a simple straw hut adorned with few possessions: a sleeping mat, his spear, some pots for storing food, a fire pit for keeping warm and cooking, and a few changes of clothes. Kemek is friendly to his tribe, but maintains a healthy suspicion of outsiders, at least until he gets to know them better. He often shares his food with less fortunate members of the tribe, as the grain ration isn't always enough, especially during a poor harvest season.

In his spare time, Kemek likes to practice his spear fighting. He isn't as skilled as the chief or the chief's sons, but apart from them, he is quite possibly the most skilled fighter in the Shadowstream tribe's village. He is lithe for a goblin, but also somewhat muscular. Give his small size and lack of armor, he relies on agility in a fight against larger opponents.
