Wait... this is based in the A.D. era, before Christ? I'm confused.

This seemed like it was heavily based off the Underworld movie, so I assumed it was based in a modern setting. I don't mind, I'm just... well, confused.

Can I get an exact date? Also, if it's not modern day, how is Leo able to do some much with genetic engineering level experimentation?

Oho~ I also assumed it was based on the 'Underworld' movies. Isn't those Corvine guys from the prologue characters from that world? Anyways, those vamps didn't exactly look like they were around before B.C. considering the... incredibly LIMITED architectural advances in Transylvania before the 1500's or so. If we can get an update on exactly when and where, I can get started on finishing my characters. I thought there would be heavy technology involved so the background I thought of isn't going to cut it if this is not modern/futuristic like the movies were.

I had assumed a steampunk/medieval time era? Steampunk for the engineering and such. I think we're all confused as to what the timeline is haha

How is Leo able to do all of this genetic engineering in this era? Honestly, he has no idea what he's doing, he is just learning as he goes, he gets an idea, like looking at the blood of a lycan and he makes a 'microscope' type device to do so. I don't know he's the smart one not me :D
The date can be changed however, if y'all want to do something in the steampunk era, which I've never played...or really understood....,that's alright with me

I just wondered about the time as well because Silver would not be a high commodity as there would be very crude blacksmiths etc back then. The weapons would be bronze or crude iron swords and spears. Which would be alright for ticking off one of the werewolves or vampires. But doing not a whole lot more.

I would not mind it being set in either modern times or near future, (that way we can use our imaginations on what technology has to offer). Of course I am also a sucker for medievel times as well, it would just depend on what everyone else wants to do.

Just my thoughts on the matter, it is after all Lady Bella's RP and what she decides is the final say.

I've got no issue with the time-setting, so much as the undertones it might provoke.

Although it was about vampires and werewolves, Underworld seemed to go the sci-fi route as opposed to outright fantasy. Yes, some things were almost blatantly magic, but a lot of what they did with the cross-breeds and the like seemed more based in pseudo-science. In the final movie, though, the midevil setting always seemed to highlight the more fantastic elements of the plot, with even the most sciency stuff being treated as just another form of magic, in my opinion, anyway.

I'm really just more concerned with that being the case here, with the story seeing the monsters as creatures of magic instead of just some sort of theoretical divergent in the human genome. Basically, it really just drastically affects the way I'd play my character, and makes me question if I'd want to.

I don't mind changing the date really, that's why this is only kind of sort of like the movie, not an exact replica
So what dates did we have in mind? Steampunk-ish? which from what I've read is more from the 19th century, which is perfectly alright with me...makes me think of back to the future part three...love those damn movies. Any other suggestions?

I'm fine with a 1900's setting, especially if it's not set in America. Not so hip on the steam-punk, but so long as no one pulls out a steam-powered light saber, I should be good.

Ha ha... I'm on with the medieval times, the sci-fi and the modern, but not so much on steampunk or 1900's. But I agree on the please-not-America-again thing if there's a choice.
