It was a bit depressing not to have Anna around as much as she used to. Sure, she and Kristoff visiting as much as possible but they deserved the life outside the royal life. Elsa sat behind a desk, her thin fingers through her blonde hair that was down and out of its normal braid. There was so much paperwork to do as a Queen, between countries for foreign trade and providing many solutions to the problems around the country. Elsa fell back against her chair, hands sliding through the soft strains of her hair before her pale arms fell off the arms of the chair, now she had to make sure that the towns metal works were up to date. So much work! So little time for anythingâŚ
Anything at all⌠Elsaâs mind traveled back to the idea of how happy her Anna was with Kristoff, and she began to wonder as her blue eyes stared up at the ceiling of office she was in. A small sigh left her full lips as she observed the design of the ceiling for the twentieth time since she started the paperwork. Was she⌠jealous of her little sisterâs love life? Maybe⌠but it wasnât something she could let get to her. Her hand started to tingle, a small beam of ice shot out as she found herself thinking about her sisterâs love and wishing for her own. The ice turned the floor of the office into an ice rink and it took Elsaâs chair beginning to slide away from the desk to realize what was happening. Stopping she found herself laughing a little before giving a wave of her hand to remove the ice and water a nearby lush green plant.
âYour majesty?â A voice called from the solid oak door, which pulled Elsa from her slumped position and caused her to rise to her feet.
âCome in.â Elsa called out to the door; it opened slowly to reveal one of the butlers who stood with a tender smile. The man had served her parents and helped her when she asked for information how things should be handled. âPrincess Anna and Kristoff are here.â Kristoff was offered the title of Duke but turned it down, not wanting to fall into the royal category even though he married a princess. The man was humble and truly loved her sister, and Elsa really appreciated that.
âWonderful thank you!â The blonde said with her blue eyes sparkling as she hurried past the butler after giving him a grateful smile and down the stairs. The doors to the entrance of the castle opened by the hands of the staff, but have the redhead nearly break down the door and jump in.
âHAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!â She shouted at the top of her lungs as she tackled her blonde sister, nearly toppling the Queen over.
âBirthday?â Elsa repeated in confusion.
âDonât worry! I took care of everything!â Anna began to list off the things she had done by using her fingers. âI got the cake, sent out the invitations, invited many many people to the party! Weâve got music set up, and food⌠so so much food! And chocolate! Chocolate that you will be able to drown in.â
âYes she was talking with four different people to find the right chocolate that she knew youâd love.â Kristoff said coming with a chuckle before giving his sister-in-law a hello hug.
âCome on, come on! I got you a beautiful dress!!â Anna said excitedly as she grabbed the arm of her sister as soon as the two let go and began to pull her towards the bedrooms. âKristoff will guide the staff to set up everythingâŚâ The look on Kristoff said this was somewhat new information before he rolled his eyes dramatically and gave his wife a small side smile. The typically âI love you and will because you donât traditionally do thisâ, as he turned to help guide the staff to prep for the party and the things they had brought.
âYou look amazing!!â Anna said with a giggle. âI love you in blue! And this dark blue looks amazing! Not that I didnât like your ice dress; but this, this looks wonderful!â Elsa stood looking at herself in the reflection of the mirror, she had re-braided her hair into her side braid with the snowflakes in it but the dress was a single shouldered dark blue dress that wrapped around her body and flared out at the bottom. âYou might even find the special one tonight!â Anna said with a playful giggle as Elsa stared at herself in the mirror while Anna did her hair. âIâll see you down there, party starts in ten minutes. People should be arriving any minute now!â Skipping towards the door, she looked back at her sister who was still staring at herself in the mirror. âElsa, you look beautiful. Weâll see you downstairs; the buffet is going to be amazing.â
What if Anna was right? No not about the food but about the possibility of her finding someone especially; that would make her 25th birthday very special. Letting out a long breathe of air that she had been holding in since Anna helped her into the dress, Okay Elsa, you can do this, the likeness of you meeting someone isnât high at all⌠just, just have a good time. She mentally couched herself with a soft sigh and a smile across her face, she did look beautiful; even if it wasnât her classic light blue dress. Turning her heels she started towards the door and began to climb down the stairs, the ball room was buzzing with people already and the announcers were calling out names of the royals and nobles from other countries that were coming in. How many people did Anna invite and how long had she been putting this together to get out all these invites. A small giggle left her as she watched some people enter and were surprised to see each other, greeting everyone with open arms; including her sister who was bouncing around from person to person and introducing her husband to as many people as she could. Kristoff was a good sport and very social. Anna was very lucky.
Elsa, like her sister, didnât wear a crown to show off royalty but that didnât stop people from recognizing her. Soon the white blonde haired girl was socializing with the party guests, laughing and talking but⌠keeping an eye out for a possible special someone⌠a girl can hope right?
