Drake nodded, "he never got changed or turned he was a human hunter taught me what he could before he was killed when I was twelve." He sighed to that, he kept his gaze forwards he answered her questions he shook his head focus.
Aura nodded to that. "Ah I see, so you come from a line of hunters?" She asked trying to get more of an understanding. In a strange way he wanted to know him and who he was. Wanting to know why he was so connected to her past mate made her want to scream as well. She was thinking his father but ht was also a blank.
Drake thought for a moment, "yah I guess you could say that since the first hunter of my family's line was probably a century ago I think I wasn't really paying attention when my father told me." He crossed his arms over his chest, "dad said that a century ago he great uncle had fallen in love with a Lycan that is true I believe."
Aura looked at him her mouth falling slightly open in sadness. "What was his name? Your Great Uncle I mean." She asked her heart breaking. How she missed that man, he was always so kind and gentle with her no matter what. He hadn't cared that she was a lycan and he himself a human.
Drake thought for a moment, "Michael Nathan Thomas most people called him mike though said he went down fighting like any hunter would." He sighed, "dad always said no matter the cost he had always put the person he loved first then himself." He laughed, "I guess we're te same in a way putting people before us before we worry about ourselves."
"God Damn it!" Aura yelled thinking about him she put her face in her hands. "You can look at me I don't care anymore. You look too much like him." She said giving up. Just mean ruining him made her want to die. The thought of him was too powerful. "He hadn't even said goodbye to her that day
Drake castes a look over his shoulder, before fully turning around. Getting to his feet, his arms crossed over his chest. He knew he had to change the subject for now, "names Drake by the way. If you want me to go I can if you want me to that is."
"Don't leave please," she said raising her face from her hands and wiped her tears. Her red eyes looked up at him. "Your great uncle was a good man. His death was different than you think though." She said and took a deep breath.
It was his turn to be confused, "what do you mean by that?" He was confused he had his fathers story and now she's telling him that it was a different death than what his father had told him. He sat down, his mind was spinning with possibilities.
"He didn't die a hunter's death, he was killed trying to protect me, the lycan he loved. I was the reason he died and I've beaten myself up over it for over a century. He was the reason I kept wanting you to kill me." Aura explained. "He jumped in front of a silver bullet meant for me."
Drake nodded to that, "then I hardly say that is not an honorable death during for a person he loved. Plus I i were him right now in the afterlife, words that would come out of his mouth if he knew you beat yourself up for it. He would say don't he probably doesn't regret doing it either another handful of words of his would probably be stop beating yourself up for something he willingly did for you live your life to the fullest and don't beat yourself up for something that has passed."
"He was my mate though, you only get one, and now I have to live my life without him. You can't understand just how much it hurts to not have him around. It feels like someone's stabbing you in the heart. Seeing you it hurts just as bad because you look just like him." Aura said and sighed. "After his death I did many reckless things like this and I still can't feel okay with life."
Drake only sighed, he looked to the sky. Seeing it was almost dawn, "I gotta get going the other hunters already presume that I'm dead oh and also I don't think this will be our only run in with each other." He looked back down then to her, "plus I didn't catch your name?"
Aura nodded knowing she still couldn`t go back. The wound on her stomach and chest wouldn`t let her. "My name is Aurora, you can call me Aura though." She said and took a deep breath to relax the pain. This was probably going to be her sleeping spot for tonight. It didn`t bother her though. Her pack would assume she`s dead, something about that made her happy and sad at the same time. Although even if they thought that she`d still be connected to the pack bond and they`d know she was alive. No matter what she did she couldn`t escape them or her fate as becoming the next leader of the pack.
Drake nodded, "well we'll meet again Aura just saying now fate had made us meet and I'm guessing fate will have more with me than I want it to." He sighed, "just find me when you need something I don't mind right now I'm just trying to find what the vamps activity is and what fate has in store for me." With that he started his walk back to the hunters head quarters.
Aura knew she`d be seeing more of him. Just by how they`d met twice now there was no doubt. Once she couldn`t see him anymore she relased the air she didn`t know she was holding. She looked up at the sky. "Michael this a horrible fate your putting on me. Why are you making me feel as if he`s my mate. You are, your my mate. He`s your great nephew, this is cruel."
Drake opened the door to the warehouse, stepping inside he flicked the lights on. He sighed as he made his way to te weaponry, he took out his sabers and his sword plus the two knives he kept in his boots. Before sitting down on the couch opening his laptop and seeing what he could find. An article showed up, his eyes widening when he read it. People had just found Dracula's tomb and not just anybody vampires had found his tomb.
Aura looked down at the wound and sighed. It was still plenty deep. The contact with the silver rod earlier had hurt her healing. "God damn, I need to do something. Laying here all night if going to kill me in more ways then one." She said to herself before carefully standing up leaning against the tree for support. Once she was standing she smelt something, or rather someone. She smelt vampires close by.
Drake smelled something out of place, he grabbed his sabers running. Following the scent of the vampires, they were heading for Aura. He saw her, he kept running toward. Her he got in front of her just as a vampire launched forward, he slit the vampires throat he let out a growl. His instincts taking over, as more vamps launched themselves at him.
Aura got throwing knives from a pocket on her side and threw them at the vampires. The knives were half wood and half steel making them effective and able to slice through skin. She threw them at the vampires as many as she could almost all of them turning to dust.
