Lydia drove up to the school and parked in her assigned parking space then turned the engine off and got out of the car. She was nearly ran over by the head cheerleader, Stephanie. Lydia scoffed at her as she got out of the car and told Lydia to watch where she was going. She lowered her head as it was just now the start of the school year and she was already at the top of her list. A sly smirk played across her lips just as the bell rang for the students to get their things quick fast and in a hurry.
She grabbed her notebook and Geometry book then closed her locker and turned heel, bumping into some random male. "Sorry." She spoke softly, staring at her feet then walking away, quickly. She didn't bother to look back to see the male's facial expression or to see if he was talking about her, which she automatically assumed that he was. Since he was a jock. Those vermin. She shook her head of the bad thoughts then entered her first class, seeing her friend, Robin as she immediately walked over there and reserved that seat.
"Hi." Robin spoke towards her with a smile as Lydia spoke soft towards her. "Hey. How was your summer vacation? Anything new?" She asked while leaning over with interest in her eyes. "It was the same old, same old. Camp, rehearsal, more camp and oh, did I mention rehearsal?" She laughed a little bit then looked as their teacher, Mr. Harris walked in and strolled to stand in the middle of the room. "Ah, don't we all love that new school smell?" He inhaled again the exhaled while walking back towards his desk, leaning over it.
"For your first assignment, I want you to visual yourself as if today wasn't the first day back to school. Why would the should they bring you back to school earlier than usual?" With that said, the class was quiet though everyone was pulling out a piece of paper to write the prompt. She just realized that she had grabbed the wrong book and widened her eyes.
She meant to get her English book. She ran her fingers through her hair with a sigh then just went back to writing, wondering how her day was going to go.
