With the help of the Dohvakiin, Ulfic Stormcloak has managed to win the Throne of Skyrim. It is a fragile position, however, as numerous factions rise up to overthrow the weakened state of Skyrim. Hoping to united his people, Ulfric issues an edict. Anyone who publicly renounces their loyalty to the Empire and swears loyalty to the new government will be pardoned of their war crimes. Many take him up on his offer, and the former Imperial soldiers swelled the ranks of Skyrim's guards and soldiers. He then sent a contingent of diplomats, made up of one member of every race, first to Cyrodiil, then to every other nation save the Aldmeri Dominion, offering them a peace treaty and an alliance against the Aldmeri threat.

We are that contingent. We must survive our trip across all of Tamriel to join its people together against a common threat.
