As you can see, this is a fantasy/dystopian world roleplay idea. It's still in the rough stages of being thought up in my scatterbrained mind, so I'll get right to the point and try to give the layout as best as I can. Basically, you are given purpose by your Soul Piece, a fragment of one's soul in solid form that is formed the moment after birth. Based one the type of Soul Piece you are born with, your fate is decided. These Soul Pieces take the form of chess pieces in different colors; pawn, knight, and so forth. The color determines elemental ability while shape determines personal abilities. Things such as social status are also determined using the Soul Pieces. They would follow how you would most likely assume they would. Those with a king or a queen piece hold all the power, the pawns hold none, and the bishop, rook and knight pieces hold only so much depending on the task they are given. There are some restrictions, however. There can only ever exist a single king and/or queen piece for every color, which is why they hold so much power. Both the king and queen piece hold equal amount of power, as well, but what truly makes them different from one another is that king pieces are only bestowed to those with a kind heart and queen pieces are bestowed to those with a corrupted heart.
Okay, so now that all of that is out of the way, time for the plot. Keep in mind that this is all still a work in process, so I am keeping all of this pretty straight and to the point. As of right now, the roleplay will take place in one of the many cities (this will be pretty much modern in terms of technology with a few exceptions) in the world of Fichier, this one in particular under the rule of Lana McDonald, whose Soul Piece happens to be a Yellow Queen. Life is harsh because of her rule, would be nice if their were someone with a king piece to help bring the peace, right? Well, sadly there seems to be a lack of king pieces due to a law made where those born with a king piece were to be put to death. Harsh and morbid, yes, but dystopian plot here. I mean, come on.
Anywho, with no king pieces in the world, that only leaves those with queen pieces to call the shots. So when a young man stumbles in the streets, lost and confused, clutching a White King Piece, there is bound to be some confussion and even a glimmer of hope.
And that is pretty much all I have thought of at the moment, and I am sorry if this is to vague or short, but I will be adding more to the story as the ideas come to me. below you will see listings of what each piece and color stand for, and if you have any questions feel free to ask!
