Variant:
The Sharpshooter BDU is issued to sniper experts in the field. This BDU is designed to give an ODST sharpshooter more freedom in combat - the >standard right pauldron is removed, allowing the sniper to aim better and move his arm more freely with a sniper rifle, while the standard left >pauldron is replaced with a larger plate to protect the sniper's arm from counterattacks. The Sharpshooter variant is also issued with an optics >device attached to the helmet, while the Oracle scope on the SRS99 can uplink to the user's HUD.

The ODST Battle Dress Uniform is the signature piece of equipment used by the 105th Special Forces - the armor is vacuum-rated, capable of >Extra-Vehicular Activity for fifteen minutes.[1] The armor provides numerous advantages in the field, including ballistic protection, >temperature control, as well as thermal insulation against extreme temperatures experienced during atmospheric entry and thermal protection from >Covenant energy weapons.
The ODST Armor has gone through several design changes since the start of the Human-Covenant War. The current version incorporates technology >initially developed for the MJOLNIR Armor. This includes CTCs for body armor, titanium and ceramic composite armor plating to give the user >added protection - along with HUD and Communications Systems to give more situational awareness to the wearer.[2]
The ODST BDU has been in use for well over 50 years by the 105th, and remains unmatched in its ability to protect its wearer over other BDUs >during the toughest operations. The BDU excels at providing more protection against small arms fire than other infantry body armor, and also >excels at allowing a trooper to conduct Military Operations in Urban Terrain without the slightest chance of being detected in dark locations. >The BDU's stealth capability is partly thanks to its black and gray camouflage patterns on the legs, boots, gloves, chest, helmet and undersuit >- these urban camouflage patterns are optional; without the camouflage panels, the BDU is black. On the left shoulder pad of every ODST is a >UNSC MED REF patch.[3][4][5] This patch contains basic medical information about the trooper, and allows a UNSC certified medic to gain a quick >medical reference to an ODST wounded in the field. Despite the armor's obvious advantage over standard infantry armor, it is still vulnerable to >Covenant energy weapons, larger armor piercing rounds, as well as large explosive devices.
Camouflage: Urban Pattern.

Personality: (Five sentences or more)
Twix was a bit of a straight shooter before, he knew the regs backwards and forwards and kept to them, simple. Now he's different, petty regs mean nothing to him, not that much does anymore. He has become apathetic, it's hard to care about people when they die so fast. He's surviving day to day, he'll do what he must but he is losing his reason to go on. Sometimes glimmers of the old him shine through, quick to laugh and joke with his friends, meticulous in his practices, but these glimmers are few and far between. He has developed a stim addiction, to blow time he takes a double dose and sits back as all his troubles melt away in the high.
History: (Five sentences. Explain how they got into the military, or what civilian life was like for them. Explain how they've survived the past few days, and how they ended up in New Alexandira.)
Twix an orphan evacuated from Arcadia in 2531, grew up hating the Covenant, how could he not? how could any of his generation not have an ingrained deep hatred of everything alien? Harvest, Circinius IV, Jericho VII and so many other worlds just gone. As soon as Twix was of age he joined up, after excelling at marksmanship in training he was transferred to ODST Sniper school where he was one among equals. There was a war on so his training was accelerated and he was soon out in the field. Over the next few years he was a part of many orbital drops and furious battles, He lost friends, lovers, brothers, sisters. The ODST are not known for their low mortality rates. Twix fought at Sigma Octanus IV where he was on attachment to a marine regiment. On arrival at Reach after the retreat from Sigma Octanus IV he was immediately redeployed and left before the invasion of Reach, a fact he is still bitter about, the regiment he had been attached to at Sigma Octanus IV was wiped out to a man in the fall of Reach, including a young woman who he had grown very close to.
Twix was removed from active duty for psychological reasons post peace agreement with the Covenant, between now and then he has spent an abnormal amount of time in cryo, when Reach was re occupied he moved there.
With impending disaster in sight he and many others were officially recalled to active duty shortly before command ceased sending orders.
Other:
“Men, we led those dumb bugs out to the middle of nowhere to keep them from getting their filthy claws on Earth. >But we stumbled onto somethin' they're so hot for that they're scrambling over each other to get it. Well, I >don't care if it's God's own anti-son-of-a-bitch machine or a giant hula hoop, we're not gonna let 'em have it! >What we will let them have is a belly full of lead and a pool of their own blood to drown in!” — Staff Sergeant Avery Junior Johnson
Type of Character:Marine
Rank:PFC
Armor/Clothing:
A slightly altered version of the standard UNSC Marine Battle Dress, while it still provides excellent protection from traditional ballistic weaponry (barring high powered sniper rifles) Lenny has incorporated a thicker sheet of flak armor across the torso and arms to suit his preferred weapons of choice, explosives. The armor, however still retains the weaknesses of its vanilla counterpart towards plasma weaponry, and while the thickened flak plates provide a modicum of protection, it was designed to catch shrapnel, not super-heated particles. That said, the extra weight of the flak plates are a hindrance.
Weapons:
- M319 Individual Grenade Launcher (2 HE rounds left) "Gromp", Lenny's pride and joy, requisitioned just prior to the Fall of Reach.
- M7 Caseless Submachine Gun (2 Full 30 Round Mags Left)
- x2 M9 HE-DP Grenades
Equipment:
- x2 C-12 "Damage Packs"
- x2 C-7 Foam Explosives
- x1 Electronic Explosives Trigger
- S.I. Marine Survival Pack ( 2 days Rations, Fatigues, Radio)
- S90 Gas Mask
- EB Green "Duct Tape"
- x1 Lotus Anti-Tank Mines
- x2 Antlion Anti-Personal Mines
Personality: Lenny can best be described in one word. Paranoid. Having survived ambushes (giving or receiving) from both human and alien, Lenny follows the age old rule of: "Better Safe than Sorry." Has a habit of outlining camp perimeters with high grade explosives and traps even in the most peaceful of times, and exponentially increasing severity in the worst of times. Regards strangers with disdain and distrust, always creating escape routes and contingency plans in all scenarios. While not actively hostile to those who don't directly endanger him or his squad, he keeps a finger on the trigger and a grenade ready to use at the drop of the hat. That said, he's fiercely loyal to the (few) comrades he makes, and believes vengeance is best served with 20 pounds of fiery death.
History: Born in a mining complex on Muroto, an Earth-sized moon in the Chi Ceti system of the Outer Colonies. Not wanting to be a crystal miner his entire life, with bright and naive eyes he joined the UNSC Marine Corp. He first saw combat against the Insurrectionists as a standard run-of-the-mill grunt when his platoon ran into an Insurrection ambush. You'd imagine a man to fear the sight and sound of explosions after his squad-mates were decimated by a well placed C-12 charge, but Lenny took it as a deadly, yet valuable lesson. Setting off charges and grenades he impeded the Insurrectionist assault long enough for reinforcements to arrive in time to save him and two others. Lenny took these lessons to heart, the world now hostile, cold, and advancing, only slowed by a well placed mine. Promoted to a PFC and reassigned to another company he became the resident demolitions expert; with the coming of the Covenant menace, he and his comrades fought tooth-and-bomb on the Halo Installations culminating into the final Human-Shenghelli victory. After the war, he was posted in a remote outpost outside of New Alexandria. When the Flood began their horrific infestation of the galaxy, his new squad was tasked with civil defense, which soon after collapsed in the chaos. He and his squad holed up in the cities' metro system, but over time casualties in the squad amounted to Lenny being the sole survivor, trapped in a underground maintenance room, not expecting help to come.
Other: “When I die, please bury me deep! Place an MA5 down by my feet! Don't cry for me, don't shed no tear! Just pack my box with PT gear! 'Cuz one early morning 'bout zero five! The ground will rumble, there'll be lightning in the sky! Don't you worry, don't come undone! It's just my ghost on a PT run!”
— UNSC Cadence
Type of Character: Civie
Rank:N/a (Formerly a naval captain)
Armor/Clothing:He wears a simple ballcap with a faded symbol on it but if one looks closely the words "Elysian Comets" on it with a baseball bat and ball on it, a generic and faded white t-shirt is worn underneath a brown tattered grease and mud soaked jacket, a pair of dity gray slacks that resemble more of a brown than gray due to dirt and mud, and a nice sturdy pair of stolen combat boots.
Weapons: MA5B Assault Rifle 2 full clips, 3 full clips M6D Sidearm,
Equipment: Some stolen MRES and canteen, Bottle of scotch, and 2 flares.
Personality: Andrew is a man ravaged by the ghosts of the past to many he might seem insane but if one sat and listened to his stories they would realize this man is suffering from a strong case of PTSD and survivors guilt, but when he isn't blaming himself from the mistakes of his past or drinking heavily Andrew is a kind man who people can rely upon to be supportive or a ear that will listen, also the old man is incredibly smart and creative he was a brilliant tactician during the war and still is.
History: Andrew grew up in Elysium city on Eridanus II, the son of a corporate CEO and his mistress. Andrew grew up a secret child to this man only seeing his father a few hours a month, Andrew grew up envying the other family the life he should of had. When the boy reached the age of ten his father divorced his wife and married his mother and for the first time in his life things were complete and it seemed his wish for his father had come true.
As the boy grew older he expressed a desire to get out there and explore so he showed his father a brochure for a naval academy on Reach his father agreed and sent the boy to the academy. Within the academy the boy learned how to use weapons, he learned a variety of tactics, and most of all how to command a ship. Which interested the teen so much that he yearned to be able to sail among the stars in a ship of his own. Upon graduation the now adult Andrew was stationed upon the UNSC Basilisk and sent out to fight insurrectionists. When operation TREBUCHET rolled around a few years later Andrew was in command of a carrier named UNSC Tempest, his job during the operation was to deploy all UNSC personnel to his former home world so they could capture a high ranking insurrectionist and former marine Colonel Robert Watts. Their mission was ultimately a success and upon victory in operation Trebuchet, Andrew was promoted to captain.
Andrew was still in command of the UNSC Tempest when the covenant began carve a bloody swath through UNSC controlled space and in the second battle over his homeworld there was no great victory instead there was a bitter defeat as the Tempest and one other ship entered slipspace heavily damaged and Andrew's homeworld was glassed behind him. After the glassing of Eridanus II Andrew was filled became a shut in and he didn't speak but he had a renewed energy when it came to battle with the covenant going from battle to battle and either surviving defeat after defeat or winning the occasional victory under Admiral Cole.
During the battle of Reach, Andrew went above and beyond, deploying men and women to the surface of Reach and occasionally sending a volley of Archers at a group of covenant ships but he really shined when he used a group of ODST drop pods as missile platforms to launch SHIVA warheads at covenant ships but still Reach was a defeat and most of the fleet went on the retreat. The next battle Andrew took part in was the battle of Earth, it was here where the UNSC Tempest was split right down the middle and 75% of the crew were killed leaving Andrew with a large amount of guilt and survivors guilt.
After the second battle of Earth, Andrew became a wanderer he went from planet to planet looking for a permanent place to stay. Eventually during the resettling of Reach Andrew found a home in New Alexandria using the last of his money to get there he found he was broke and had nowhere to stay so he blended in with other refugees and homeless men from the war returning home to Reach. When the flood invaded Reach, Andrew survived by keeping to his training in the academy and being able to stay off the grid.
Other:N/a
Type of Character: Ex-ODST, Civilian
Rank: No rank
Armor/Clothing:
Weapons: M739 Light Machine Gun(Squad Automatic Weapon, SAW) 72 Round Loaded Mag, 2 extra mags. M6H Handgun, one 8 round mag loaded two extra mags, a large butcher knife
Equipment: Three high-capacity water bottles, three MREs, half battery flashlight, Map of New Alexandria, small toolkit for vehicle repairs, a half empty can of biofoam
Personality: Max is a conspiracy theorist. He never believed what the UNSC were feeding civilians, at least, until Reach fell the first time. Then he started believing them. He can be described as having 'apophenia', a tendency to see connections where none exist. He finds it easy to trust people, surprisingly, but this is mostly because he’s intelligent enough to discern that they almost certainly have no plans against him. He takes comfort in the knowledge however, that he could probably kill them if it came down to it.
History:
Max was born and raised on Reach, and from a young age didn’t trust the UNSC. His father was an Insurrectionist, and Max was raised with Insurrectionist values, right under the UEG’s nose. His father wasn’t the typical image the UNSC painted of an Insurrectionist- Rather than a big, tough, dumb brute, he was a scientist. He called the UNSC ‘unethical’. Said he had evidence of them violating Mortal Dictata.
At the time, Max didn’t really understand that, nor did he care. Even though he never moved, Max always felt like he was on the run. He had no friends, as his father encouraged him not to ‘associate with locals’. He never acquired any major possessions either, as his dad insisted he be ready to pack and go at a moments notice.
This encouraged the growth of an intelligent, if socially sheltered, child. He excelled at his studies, finding little to do but study. As he passed into his last year of middle school, however, his father fell ill. Max retreated from his studies, spending more time devoted to taking care of his father. His dad insisted he carry on the Insurrection, so, naturally, Max began digging.
He searched for information, the knowledge being practically a drug. More important than anything schools could have taught him. The UNSC was _lying_ to people. Secret programs, fishy troop movements… Something didn’t seem right. What seemed really backwards to him was mentions of something called “The Covenant” in thier files. He never managed to stay in the system long enough to figure what it was, but it screamed propaganda to him.
Eventually, word came to the colonies of The Covenant. An alien species with massive destructive power. Max didn’t believe it. The UNSC were just scaring people, to put them in their place. He wouldn’t buy it.
He was proven wrong when The Covenant attacked Reach. He was forced to leave his work behind- He destroyed it, so the alien bastards couldn’t find it. ON that day, he decided that humanity needed a fighting chance, and any infighting wouldn’t help. He was forced to abandon a cache of weapons he’d been stockpiling- An assault rifle with ammo, a half dozen frag grenades, and the crowning jewel, a rocket launcher with three rockets. All he remembers is that it’s somewhere in New Alexandria- assuming it wasn’t destroyed in the glassing.
Soon after that, he joined the ODSTs. He wanted to serve, as if to repent for not believing in a very real threat, almost costing him his life. He trained with tenacity, and made friends in training. But he had trouble making friends- A deep seeded distrust for the UNSC was still there. In time, he bonded with his squad.
He was in the middle of an OP, a few months ago, when his connections to the Insurrection were discovered. The UNSC had planned to execute him; but in light of his service to the ODSTs, and his severance of ties to the Innies, he was only kicked out of military service.
He moved back to New Alexandria, retreating to a more quiet life. But he never stopped digging. Now the information wasn’t dirt against the UNSC- He just wanted to know things.
When the Flood invaded, he pulled out his old armor and guns, plus a kitchen knife, and set to surviving.
Other: “Dear Humanity… We regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to earth. And we most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy ass fleet!”
