So there's 3 potential versions of this game, I'm checking if there's enough interest for any of them.
Version 1:
It's 2018, one year after the HP epilogue, the masquerade has been blown to bits, wizards have been discovered, and every country in the planet is trying to sort out the issue of "what the hell there have been wizards living among us this whole time?" in their own way. Some countries will descend into a civil war, others may resolve the issue more peacefully, others may fragment into smaller separated countries, entire populations may be displaced, witch hunts may see a revival, and everything will just go nuts. Tons of fun, people can play as wizards or muggles tied into the mess trying to figure out what to do, slightly-cyberpunk.
Version 2:
The same thing happens, but set in 1998, and the discovery of wizards is a direct consequence of Dementors being free to do whatever they want shortly after the battle of Hogwarts. Also, with 1998-level technology. People could also play as wizards or muggles.
Version 3:
Remember Grindelwald? Remember how the wizards had their own version of WW2 happen /during/ WW2? And how Dumbledore was a young up-and-coming badass and everything was confusing and it was a time that is barely detailed in the books? And how Voldemort was like, 20-years-old or so at the time and not really a threat? Remember how there was no internet and most technology was probably compatible with magic because nothing was digital? Wouldn't it be cool to set a story in that time period? Everyone would ideally be a wizard here, because we know for a fact that the masquerade wasn't blown, and so wizards would be unlikely to interact with muggles. That said, a squib with an understanding of muggle culture and muggle weapons would be more than welcome into the storyline.
