ooc: Please read the spec prior to posting, as this will lay out the background. I’d like everyone to make an “intro” post about their character. You can have any fantasy character within reason (so your charrie can’t be all powerful etc). Normal rules – no god modding, controlling other people’s charries etc. You also do not have to reveal your charrie’s power immediately, if they have one. Just jump in, but if you have a Qu, just send me a mssg, or put it in OOC. Background: This is a where the stories, legends and the folklore are real, but only to those who know about it. There are lots of different types of people in this world. There are some who are magical, and others who are only ordinary humans. The magical world runs parallel with this ordinary world, but there are places that a magical creature can be themselves, certain buildings etc. If a magical act, or creature not glamoured, is witnessed by a non magical creature who is able to speak, the information must be distorted by an Enforcer, selected members of the magical community who have the ability to alter a memory. Enforcers can be anyone who has passed an Enforcer test, though there is an age limit. But recently, there has been some issues with the Enforcers. Someone has been changing the memory of not only those of non magical beings, but those of magical too. Where an Enforcer's power comes from is a guarded secret, but no one wants to believe that an Enforcer could be behind the odd occurrences.... There has also been a recent spate of killings of Magicals and mundanes of all types. The only thing that links them is that the killer has been removing the head and, so far, none have turned up again. In the midst of all this, Cross Academy is finally opening it's doors to students and teachers alike. The first school that will specialize in allowing both magical and non magical students to co-inside. It is a test to see if integration a young age will help magical children fit in better and allow them to practice hiding themselves effectively. It is also designed to breakdown prejudices. The ages for the school were 11 to 19, and would teach all the normal classes, but when the mundanes went to some of their classes, the magicals would undertake special classes. The staff include Enforcers, non magical and magical staff. All staff, who are not human in appearance, must wear glamour at all times. Those students who suffer from this, must take potions each day to hide their physical appearance (such as if they are a toad etc). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ IC: "Ethan, how could you?" He didn't turn his head, keeping his eye fixed on the garden, where the Tyre swing was occupied by a girl of around 15, with long blonde hair in a loose plait. She was staring at the ground with a look of serious contemplation. His own face was serious as he looked at her, but his attention was pulled away as the person who was addressing him persisted. “Ethan James Crowe,” the voice said sternly, and he turned his head to face the woman in the room. Her arms were folded in obvious annoyance, her foot only a wrong phrase from beginning to tap. He kept his head low and looked up at her with his blue eyes. “Don’t even try it, mister,” she said, not softening under his “sad” gaze. His face slipped into a grin, which was much more natural to him. “And I don’t see what’s funny,” said the woman, her brows furrowing. “Come on, Aunt Jane,” he said, throwing his arms out. “It’s not like the Mundy’s will remember.” “That’s not the point, Ethan!” she shouted, her temper getting away from her. His smile fell away, and he moved his gaze to the floor, feeling his face forming his own scowl. What was so wrong with it? Because he’d broken the Rules again, with a capital R, and now he’d be in trouble. There was no point explaining why he’d done it. Aunt Jane, whilst she might know about them, was a Mundy. She was only allowed to continue knowing about them because Magicals were in her family. In his peripheral vision, he saw her socked feet move toward him. She sat beside him and, without warning, put an arm around his shoulder. “Ethan,” she said, her voice sad and gentle. That was several week ago now. He was now standing outside Cross Academy. His gaze moved from the building to the figure stood by his side. She hadn't said a word when they’d been told that they had been invited to join Cross Academy, but had meekly agreed. He could see her finger nails digging into her palms as she stared with large eyes at the building. He stretched a hand out and touched the closest of hers. She looked at him with a start, but she smiled a little and let him take her hand. Aria, like him, had pale skin, blonde hair and blue eyes, but where his eyes were dark like a storm, hers were bright as a clear day. “It’ll be okay,” he said softly to her. “I promise.” Her look said that she wanted to believe him. The problem was that he’d said that before and they’d ended up here. Not that this was a punishment, according to his aunt and the people who came to speak to them. It was just a place they could learn to fit in and control themselves. “Come on,” he said, leading her into the school.

ooc: happy for you to join, but can you post on the OOC pages if it's not plot related? Otherwise it can cause confusion. Otherwise PM me. Sounds amazing. When do you leave? How long are you gone for? Can everyone do an opening post and either enter the school or be "following signs" to the school hall? There was signs to the main hall leading from the entrance school, which was where all new students were asked to congregate. There were seats, so many of them, all in lines facing the front stage. Around the edge, some adults stood, some of them talking to one another, others watching the students like hawks. Any students who spoke to a teacher, was asked to sit patiently, so they had 2 options, talk to someone else or sit quietly and wait.

ooc: Post updated due to previous post being altered! And any bits in pink are her thoughts (to make it clear). Hope bit her lip as she stood in front of the school. Her new school. "You'll have fun," her mum had said. "It's something new." She burried her face into the scarf she was wearing, shaking her head. How could they understand? They'd never tried. So now here she was, dressed in a new uniform, and all she could hope was that it was not all going to start again. There was no point worrying, she told herself. Afterall, if might be that it would be great. "And pigs might fly," she told herself, tugging on her skirt to try and make it longer, then took the steps inside. She followed the signs, careful to keep out of everyone's way, and made it to the hall, but suddently she had to be seated. Calm down she thought to herself as she stood there, unsure what to do for the best. It's not as if anyone here knows anything about you "Yet," she muttered to herself, making her way to a row and beginning to go down it. She was only a couple of seats in when she tripped over, causing a crash in the isle as she hit some chairs, and a Person please god no! on her way down. Her skin flushed red and her arms and knees hurt due to the impact. Her glasses had also skittered away. "I....I'm s...s...so sorry," she stammered, humiliation currently blocking out all else. She did not dare get up, or look at the person she had fallen into. She just backed away on hands and knees, keeping her head bent. Worst.First Day. Ever

ooc: iamthegoldenone is off for a few days. I was going to let them post, but I don't want to leave this to wait and no one else has joined us yet. :) ic: Ethan certainly hadn't noticed the girl, too busy scanning the room and talking quietly to Aria, who was now on the floor. He stood suddenly, Aria looking panicked and the other girl backing away and muttering. "Oh no," Aria was muttering softly, her eyes wide and staring at the girl who was backing away. "E, I think...." Ethan shushed her and climbed over to her the space between the two girls. He was looking for a sign of an accident. I didn't feel anything he thought to himself as he gave the area a quick once over. Not even a hint. There was no sign of anything, no sense that Aria might have caused the accident. He felt much better and gave a smile at Aria, who was looking at him wide eyed. He gave a slight shake of his head and watched her panic subside. He offered his hand and helped her up, and then turned and crouched down in front of the girl on the floor. "Are you okay, miss?" he asked, though around them there was some laughter and a couple of teachers seemed to be making their way over. He reached out his hand, "please allow me."

ooc: Thanks for saying, that's fine. I didn't mind who it was I collided with, just wanted to make an entrance. She heard the voice and looked up into a boy's face, who was offering a hand to her. Then she heard the laughter of the other's in the hall and she lowered her head quickly, feeling ashamed and stupid. "I...I'm okay," she stammered quickly, getting to her feet and then sitting on a seat, feeling herself want to cry. I'm so pathetic. "I'm sorry," she said again, and from then nodded when anyone asked if she was okay, shaking her head when asked if she was hurt, though her knees felt sore and her arm throbbed. Please don't look at me her mind screamed, wanting all attention off her, wanting this to be over.

Ooc: I'm so sorry for the delay in response. I'm such a moron. Anyway, I'm back and I'll be much more active from now on.

Ethan didn't seem to know what to do. She was clearly hurt but also was desperately wanting him not to notice her.
"It's fine," he said, looking to his sister.
"Leave her alone," Aria said softly. "You're embarrassing her."
He nodded, trying not to look at the other girl but feeling like he should do something.
There was no time, however, for walking to the front came a man in a smart suit, who starred at them.

Ooc: this is the last chance for anyone to join. I'll post again in a day or so. After that, I'm closing this to new players
