Thanatos was his name the god of Death and he lived in a home near the feilds below the hill in the underworld. In his study was the Book of the dead and grinning gently he was resting his eyes closed gently. His massive and strange hounds walked around the paths near the house before his white hound came to the study and barked sharply and then the god eyes glowed gently and smiled gently. he got up and stood beside the door and smiled as he watched the girl come into the house as she came to the study he slammed the door shut on her as his eyes where narrowed.

"Intruder " he said as the hounds came from the shadows their fangs bared sharply the soul catchers fangs bared and fur bsrtieldd. the white stood bwtween her and that book. The white hound eyes glowing sharply fangs bared gently eyes glowed and orange eyes shined brightly. The book appeared in the god of Death and smiles eyes closed gently "Now you going to explain why you are here?" asked as he looked at her with deep blue eyes. his wings where massive but they where folded up and barely seen at all.

Estelle will admit that when she had been chosen to go on the quest to retrieve the Book of Death from the God of Death's own house, she had had her doubts. Getting into the Underworld was easy, sure and having a child of Ares who was stupid enough to try and play hide and seek with Cerberus while the rest of them snuck by wasn't the hardest thing ever except when the giant dog had nearly flattened her in order to get at Zane but other than that it wasn't that hard getting by.

The trip up to the God's house wasn't as easy with them having to dodge Hellhounds and once they had arrived at their destination of course she was the one elected to go in because she was the smallest and therefore the only one able to fit through the first-story bathroom window. Stupid wide-shouldered men. And of course Julian, a son of Apollo had bowed as he held the window open for her and even had the gall to say ladies first with a smirk on his face.

She wanted to hit the smirk off his face but settled for shooting him a look that clearly said she wasn't amused before Nathan, a son of Hephaestus hoisted her through the window and she disappeared inside. She landed lightly on her on the floor, staying crouched as she took in her surroundings. The lighting was dim and she was barely able to make out what looked like bathing fixtures surrounding her. She stood up cautiously and crept across the tiled floor. Luckily she was light on her feet and didn't make a sound as she snuck up to the door.

She slowly opened it, praying to the Gods above that it wouldn't creek. Thankfully the hinges appeared well-oiled and the door slid smoothly open, revealing what looked like a bedroom. She idely wondered if this was the God's chamber but she dashed that idea. It was too small and sparsely furnitured. Probably a guest room or something. She tiptoed across the floor and peeked out into the hallway. Chiron had told them the study was the largest room in the house and would be in the middle.

Okay, not so hard. She was about to slid through the opening in the door but she darted back inside the dark room upon hearing claws clicking against the floor headed in her direction. She held her breath as she waited for the Hellhound to continue on the way down the hall. She waited for a few more seconds as she listened quietly before slipping into the hall.

She quickly located the study door and cautiously pushed open the door, peeking inside. Upon making sure the room was empty she stepped inside. She spied the book resting on the desk and sped over to it, wanting to grab it quickly and get the hell out of there. However before she could lay a finger on it the book zipped behind her and she whirled around upon hearing a voice. Whoops, guess the room wasn't as empty as she thought it was.

Upon seeing the Hellhounds advancing towards her, her first instinct was to reach for her weapon but she knew that it would be useless against a God. It wouldn't even scratch him. Besides, he was the God of Death, she didn't think he could be wounded in the first place. Not that she was crazy enough to try. She liked her soul firmly attached to her body thank you very much.

As Thanatos stood waiting for a reply, she frantically racked her brain for something to say. She needed to hurry though before the Hellhounds decided she looked like a tasty snack. She hurriedly bowed. "My lord." She said, proud of herself when her voice didn't break or tremor. "I deeply apologize for barging in like this on you. I meant no disrespect. I am a Demi-God from Camp Half-Blood. The camp director Mr. Dionysus has sent me to you to request the use of The Book of the Dead. If this is not enough I'm sure some kind of deal can be made."

While her voice appeared to be steady she was shaking in her boots, both literally and metaphorically but even though she was terrified that Thanatos would smite her on the spot, she still looked at the God with determined eyes.

Thanatos hated when demigods came searching for this book. He was the only one that really knew what it said or ment really. He stood there and said "get your pals into the kitchen all of them I like to see what they got to say then we can talk about a deal" he said snappily eyes glowed deep blue and walked out the hound fallowing after him. He went to the large kitchen made lemonade and some cookies then sat and waited for all the demigods on this quest to come to the kitchen.

The god put some cookies on a plate as the group walked in and said "I would like to know what reason you need the book of the dead for" he said as his hound growled at the son of Ares sharply fangs bared getting up but thanatos snapped his fingers and the white ghost and massive hound laid down. Its eyes cold and sharp defending its home from unwanted threats and if that brat made fun of the hound it would be night lights out.

Estelle had been positive the God would just say screw it and sic his pets on her. However, she was rather thankful he didn't. It was rather embarrassing to have to go and retrieve her friends though. They were all gathered in the shadows next to the house anxiously awaiting her return. They all were amazed when she simply walked out the door though it quickly faded to confusion. They crowded around her, wanting to know what happened, where's the book, etc. She sighed and gave them a sheepish smile.

"Mr.D and Chiron failed to mention how physically impossible it is to sneak into the home of a God, in which said God has a pack of Hellhounds patrolling through the inside, and steal aforementioned God's belongings." The rest of the group frowned and there was a moment of silence before Julian spoke up. "So what now? Is he going to steal our souls? Enslave us? Feed to his doggies?" Estelle shot him an exasperated look. "That remains to be seen. At the moment he wants us in the kitchen to explain why we want the book." "Like that's going to be easy considering we don't know ourselves." Zane muttered as they filed inside the house and into the kitchen.

They blinked in surprise at the refreshments that waited for them and half wondered if the God planned on poisoning them or something. Zane, who was always hungry snagged a cookie while they stared at him in shock. He raised his eyebrows at them as he munched the cookie. Finally they ignored him and focused back on Thanatos. Estelle glanced at the rest of the group, wanting to know if they would like to explain and she quickly noticed how Nathan was the only one standing at her side, Zane and Julian were standing slightly behind them as if using them as a shield.

Oh what strong, brave men.

Estelle mentally sighed before she turned back to the God before them. "My lord, I would explain if I could but even we do not know what the camp wants with the book. The only thing we were told was that we needed to retrieve it and where it was located." She stated. She shifted slightly as she waited for the God's reply. However, the silence wasn't good because Zane, who despised silence more than anything, took a brave step towards the Hellhound laying at Thanatos's feet.

"That's a nice dog you got there, does it do any tricks?" It would have been a fair question if not for the condescending tone that colored the son of Ares's voice. Not for the first time that day, Estelle concluded that he wasn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. She frantically shot him a look that plainly told him to shut up but he ignored her.

The god raised an eyebrow slightly"Do you know any of you know why this book is needed? You should know well enough trying to steal it could have gotten you one way ticket to punishment" said sharply eyes narrowedva deep green color of hellish flames. His black melted into the back ground and smirks when the son of Ares wanted to know if the strange white hound knew tricks.

"He does let me show you Xheial show our fine guest a nice trick you know as long as you don't kill him" he looked down at the houndvthat nodded getting up and walking toward the son of Ares and circled him then suddenly the hound lashed out with anger snapping his iorn jaws around the males hand and shook him like a ragdoll. The hound then for a nice little trick made two fingers dissapear. The hound jaws had blood on it grizzly fangs shined in the dim light and went back to its master and licked the blood off its muzzle.

Thanatos chuckled darkly "don't worry kids your friend will be fine just missing two fingers nice trick eh buddy?" Cackled darkly eyes shone with twisted smirk but he sighed gently and said.

"Well if none of you can tell me why you need that book then you must call up Chiron or director D. I will not give it to kids" he said eyes blank and hard to read but there was a soft undertone of kindness to it. Death was not cruel.... Not always.

Zane cried out when the hound latched onto his hand and before he could reach for his spear, the hound jumped away. Zane stared down at his hand in shock, wide eyes taking in the fact that he was now missing two fingers. He stumbled back, still in shock as his left hand numbly reached to try and stop the blood flow. Nathan and Julian gave a shout, rushing over to him. Estelle stood there, eyes staring at Thanatos in horror. Then, rage swept over her and her fists clenched.

How dare he! Just because he was a God doesn't mean he could do anything he wanted to. Her body began to tremble and ice began spreading across the floor, radiating away from the place she was standing. Nathan noticed and left Zane to Julian as he hurried over. "Estelle stop!" He said, using his muscular bulk to block the Death God from her sights as he grabbed her shoulders and gave her a small shake.

She blinked up at him, fists slowly unclenching and the ice receding. Her companion gave her a look that told her to calm down and go message the camp about the new development. Estelle took a deep breath, nodded and left the kitchen. She spotted a fountain near the entrance way and walked over to it. She tossed in a drachma and Iris messaged the camp. Chiron's face appeared in the water and she quickly told him what happened. She heard him mutter "I told him it would never work." before he told her to go fetch Thanatos.

Estelle returned to the kitchen. "Chiron is waiting for you." She told the God without looking at him before joining her quest members in the corner of the room. Julian had bandaged Zane's hand and he was sitting on the floor, hand cradled in his lap. Estelle joined him on the floor, scooting closer as she quietly asked him how he was. He shot her a glare. "How do you think I am? This is all your fault. If you hadn't gotten caught this would never have happened!"

Estelle flinched back like he had hit her and stared down at her shoes. She heard Nathan get in a whispered argument with Zane, Julian taking the son of Ares's side. Estelle remained silent before standing. She exited the kitchen and wandered into the study. She spotted a window and walked over, curling up in the window seat as she gazed outside.

The god rolled his eyes at the kid of Ares "it was you that decided that she should come in. You also gave a question and I allowed my dog t do a trick sp qyite whining you big fat baby" he scowled as he gave the houn the book and walked outside to where Chiron was and sighed gently "Hello Chiron are you going to explain what all this is about?" he asled confused slightly. The hound held the book in its jaws and went back to the study and sat near the book and sat there eyes alert and sharp. The outside showed the feilds below them all, but as well as the hounds patroling the lands of he field

As he listened to what the director told him about what they needed and sighed gently "very well, I will need to make a deal in exchange for that powerful book. I will talk with the girl about the deal and I shall tell you if you can have the book or not" said as he turned and walked back into the house "Miss I will need to talk with you alone." he said ushering him to fallow him into a different room and pulled a chair out for her.

Estelle let her eyes roam over the landscape. It was as depressing as she thought it would be, this being her first time in the Underworld. Though the fields with all the souls was a disconcerting sight to see, she could safely say she had seen worse. She leaned forward and rested her forehead on the glass of the window, eyes now taking on a distant look as she became wrapped up in her thoughts. Zane was right, this was all her fault. She should have been more careful, more sneaky. She hoped Chiron and Thanatos can come to some form of agreement.

A voice from the study door made her look over to see the God. After a few moments of staring at him she silently stood and followed him to another room. She sat down in the chair offered to her, her feets not even coming close to touching the floor. She tilted her head as she continued to gaze at the God silently, still irked about the event with the hound.

Thanatos looked at her with his souless eyes but a faint smile came to his lips "now tell me do you like deals. Its the only way I can allow your friends to leave with that book if you and I make a deal" said slowly his voice was light and hushed but that faint smile never left his face. His black hair fell down his back as he sat across from her.

It was another moment before she spoke. "What kind of deal do you have in mind?" She inquired in a soft voice. Making a deal with the God of Death didn't sound like a smart idea but if it was the only way that allowed the camp to obtain the book then she would do it. She had to. Hopefully he didn't ask for something like her soul but then again why would he want that, wouldn't that be more work for him? She didn't really have anything in her possession that she thought he would want, not unless it was her weapon and she really hoped he didn't want that. Other than that she was coming up blank. What could the God of Death possibly want?

Estelle blinked in surprise. That was what he wanted? For her to stay there? It was a fair request and she surmised that with only Hades, the souls of the dead, and Hellhounds for company, it must get pretty lonely here. She folded her arms across her chest. "Those terms sound fair." She replied, eyes never wavering or looking away from his. Sure, to others his gaze probably would have appeared intimidating but to Estelle it was nothing; she has seen much worse on her fathers face. There was nothing worse than being a small child and having your father look at you like you were some kind of disease that would contaminate him if he got too close.

He blinked and nodded slowly "very well, you shall be helping me collect souls from those who have died" he said as he nodded and got up slowly and went to the group getting the book and said "If you summon anything dangerous from this book, she will be down here forever, After your done with the book and return it to me and not destoryed something she will return back to you" he tossed them the book that weighed a lot more then it looked. He then grabbed his sytche and slashed a portal open "Now get going before i decide to throw your souls into the feild of punishment" he said dark;ly eyes narrowed at them a true and scary sight to see the rage of death itself.

He watched as the group scampered away swiftly waving and calling out bies to the girl and sighed gently and closed the portal as his white hound came back happily and blows him over and licked his face happily. He chuckled and kisses his head gently and then got up slowly "Alright, do you have a cell phone or Ipad?" He asked looking at her, he wanted to give her the grand tour before night fell in as it was the only time he actually got a chance to just relax and not be bothered by deaths and intruption of spirits.

Estelle blinked as he explained what she would be doing. And how was she going to do that? Didn't you have to be a Death God or have similar powers of a Death God in order to do that? She wasn't able to question it long as Thanatos stood and exited the room, Estelle hurrying after him. Nathan, Julian, and Zane were standing by the kitchen, Nathan having probably worried where she was and was about to go look for her. They gave her a look of surprise at seeing her come out of a room with Thanatos but they were distracted by the God practically throwing the book at them. Nathan fumbled with it, not expecting it to be that heavy. He looked at the portal that opened up with wide eyes before looking at Estelle.

"What's he talking about?" He demanded. Estelle gave him a small smile. "The terms of the agreement are that I am to remain here while you three take the book back to the camp. I'll be fine, now go." Nathan was going to argue more but Julian and Zane grabbed him and dragged him through the portal. Estelle watched as the portal was closed and she turned to face the Death God, watching as his pet bowed him over and began licking his. Her face grew confused at the God's question though. What use would a phone do him?

She drew the device from her pocket regardless and held it up to show the God.

He looked at the phone and took it and connected it to Hades Realm Wifi and smiles and nodded and gave it back to her as well as his Skype. Twitter and Instagram account was also put on her phone as well and smiles gently. :there now you have all th ways to contact me, as a heper you will need to be incontact with me" he muses gently as he went over as the hound barked and wagge his large tail. The god rolled his eyes and looked at her and said.

"Now shall i give you a tour of the Underworld and explain this job better?" he asked slowly as he got his coat as his wings came out massive black wings that glinted in the dim light of the house.
