No-Point removed the items from the hollowed stump and looked at them with interest.

"Interesting," he said. He examined the conch shell and the horn, determining if they could be fit together. Then, he took a look at the disc and compared that to the conch and horn, trying to solve the puzzle. Presumably blowing the horn would raise the sinkhole, but there had to be other factors. It couldn't be that simple.

Will he succeed in being unexpectedly clever? Or will he just overthink it?

Roll low. Poor results

@Boomrocker
Inspection of the horn and conch reveal that both of them are activated by blowing. You believe they'll make a loud, easily noticeable sound that might cause something to happen. On both the horn and the conch is Kokiri script. Being poorly-versed in the Kokiri alphabet, it is entirely alien to you. Perhaps someone else can read Kokiri?

"Here."

No-Point held out the objects to the small Kokiri with the penchant for explosions. "It is written in a script unfamiliar to me. Observe, and tell me what you see," he instructed Boom. "Do not blow it up now, and perhaps I will allow you to blow up something larger later."

Boom took the conch and horn, as he stared at his bag for a moment. "No Pointses... gives us the thingses." Glancing to the side he gave a nod to himself, as he took a look at the items. It appears they had the script of his tongue, the script of the Kokiri. Boom glanced up at No-Point as he gave a toothy grin. "Large thingses, they burns and explodes. But we need no-"

Growling for a moment Boom hissed, "We reads it." Boom shook his head, "We not reads it!" Glaring at nothing Boom shook his head, "It is to be read. No Pointses will not interfere with a later explosion." Knowing the argument he made was sound, he gave a nod to No Point. "We sssshaaall sees. Yes."

And so Boom went about trying to read the script from the two items.

Check automatically succeeded, considering Boom's race.

It's literally child's play to decipher the text on the instruments. They appear to be directions, written in the Kokiri's utilitarian grammar.

On the horn is the sentence "Blow for big loud greeting!"

On the shell is the sentence "Blow for small quiet greeting!"

Evidently, blowing the horn will cause the Kokiri to announce themselves to you and greet you bombastically, while blowing the shell will cause the Kokiri to be more subtle in greeting you. Knowing the Kokiri, both of these "greetings" aren't anything good. However, it doesn't seem that there's any better options available.

Which horn do you blow?

Boom glanced at the rest of the Caravan as he hissed. "Is guard-thing still there? Message easy yesssss..." Boom raised the horn, "Loud greeting." He then raised the shell, "Quiet greeting." Boom glanced towards his side and hissed, "Boom hates greetingses." He focused his attention on the group,

"Quickly! Get rids of its!" He said as he cocked his head towards the guard outpost. "Can't use if thing there."

"Do not blow any horn until I return," No-Point instructed. With the horns out of No-Point's hands, he busied himself with hiding the body of the dead Kokiri. He hoisted the corpse over his shoulder with ease, his eye twitching slightly as he caught sight of its mangled face. "What a terrible fate..." he mused to himself as he walked back along the path they came, dusting up any dripping blood or fluid as he went. At his pace, it didn't take him that long to make good distance.

After traveling far enough from the caravan that his compatriots could barely see what he was doing, he took a turn into the grasslands. There, he dumped the body into the grass, where it was hidden from the untrained eye.

Knowing this would not be enough, he covered the corpse with patches of dirt and grime. Then, he removed the large sword on his back and stabbed it three times. The wounds of sharp iron were visible, and it would appear that the sentry had wandered off and encountered some trouble with the local wildlife. It was enough

No-Point cleaned the large weapon and returned it to his back. He also cleaned off his hands and feet. He had made very good time, and would be back before the Kokiri were there to greet the party.

Boom took a moment to glance at both of the items for a moment, while No Point was disposing of the body. It was good that he was taking care of that. It would've brought unwanted attention for sure, if they noticed it.

He knew he would have to blow on one of the two. Hopefully he would choose the correct one. And of course, when his kin showed up, he hoped they wouldn't proceed to immediately go after him. After all, Boom knew he was, not particularly liked around these parts.

It was the reason he joined the caravan after all. He made far too many enemies in his time in his old stomping-ground at the Kokiri Sinkhole. This, Boom was sure this would only end badly. For him at least, he knew that whichever horn he used, Boom probably would not have a good time from the result. Boom carefully held each item up for a moment, as he took another glance at it.

"Hnnn, which one. Which one!" He stared at the horn, the source of the big-loud greeting. Then he stared at the conch, the source of the quiet-small greeting. As Boom figured out the decision, it was around the moment No-Point returned.

He held out the horn as he blew upon it. As he completed his use of the horn, he immediately turned to glance at the fellow caravan members. "Boom, not likes greetingses. Hideboom." He spoke with a sense of urgency, as this was a matter of urgency.

Boom simply he hoped that the correct response would occur. Namely one that didn't involve them all his Kokiri brethren going after him and trying to ruin his survival.

As the echoing call of the big-loud horn fades away, there is a pregnant silence. Across the ravine, you hear the sounds of frantic work. Wood is set up, metal is laid out, bellowing pack animals are moved, and all is silent again. With a low creaking sound, a massive tree root extends from the far edge of the ravine over to your side. The root is flat and wide, capable of fitting two full caravans across. All that's left is to cross the root and greet the Kokiri traders within the village.

The way into Kokiri Village is open.

Boom quickly returned both the horn and the conch onto the guard-post. Taking them with him would be a sign of trouble, that some altercation occurred to the guard. Boom couldn't let be what was determined if any other Kokiri showed up for guard duty. He grabbed a hold of his bag as he gestured towards the tree-root.

"First. Go lead." He said to, really any member of the Caravan. Boom sure as shit didn't want to lead the caravan into the village. That would be a bad idea. He slung his bag back over his back as he again gestured towards the members of the caravan.

No-Point sighed, his eyes looking up at the sky in a 'why me?' gesture, and pushed Boom gently aside as he took point over the giant root. The walk across was easier than he anticipated, and he expected the caravan and everyone to follow him in short order.

Now it was up to the traders to do what they were here for. But No-Point had something else in mind. He kept an eye on his explosively-minded Kokiri ally. As far as No-Point was concerned, the Kokiri owed him for keeping him alive this long. He intended to get his reward from him, in full, later. But for now, they were allies.

Rasia decided that as a guard it would be best that she go first. She clikced her heels and her pony quickly trotted forward in front of No-Point flicking it's ears nervously. "Can't let you have all the fun can I?" Raisa asked as she took the lead from the over-sized man. Even if they were to encounter some sort of danger she was confident she can handle it. Raisa peered around her curiously, she had of course heard tales of Kokiri villages but never seen one for himself. After-all one of the reasons she joined this caravan was to see more of the world. To be honest she had been dragged along for most of the trip and wanted to lead for once, if however briefly.

Good, the meat-shields were taking point. They were doing their duty; the only reason why Boom there, for their protection. As long as these 'allies' continued to take the heat off of Boom, all would be well. But now, they were in the lion's den. This is where they needed to take the heat the hardest, and distract his Kokiri brethren. After all, Boom was sure they still wanted him for the things he had done.

Boom followed, trying to maintain a position in the middle of the caravan group. Not too far on either side, nor near the front or the back. He sought the exact middle of the group, as he followed along.

This, was going to be an interesting trip back home. Keeping a good hold of his sack, Boom remained ever vigilant. He would make sure he was not caught off guard, especially not here of all places.

As you cross the root-bridge and make your way into the village square, things are eerily quiet. Worried Kokiri faces peer out at you from boarded-up windows as you pass. The village square is occupied entirely by Kokiris wrapped up in bundles and rags. Some are bunched up together, others are perched behind crude cloth-and-wood stalls, and still more are mounted on large porcine beasts of burden.

As your wagon trundles to a halt just in the middle of the square, all eyes lock on you. This was certainly not the "big and loud greeting" you expected. One of the larger robed Kokiris waves his hand at you, cheerily. The assorted Kokiri seem to relax, and turn back to their conversations.

It is at that point that the Ironwood Deku Nuts planted beneath your feet go off.

Blinded by a flash of force and light, you barely notice the Kokiris throwing off their robes, revealing gleaming steel and boiled leather beneath! The exit to the market square is quickly sealed off with hand-carts and wagons, as the Kokiris howl a collective battle cry and attack!

Special Boss Encounter: Kokiri Military

(Dice Pool: 10)

Special Boss Ability: Send In The Reinforcements!

A deafening roar rattles your ears, as a heavily-armored Kokiri mounted on a boar the size of an oxen charges forward!

We will still need a Leader for this. First one to post takes that role.

There was a quiet thudding sound as No-Point slammed one meaty fist into his other hand. Blinded, dazed, but not out for the count, he rushed headlong towards the boar, bellowing his own terrifying battle cry. His intention? Punch it in the snout so hard it would regret ever being born.

Juggernaut versus boar, deathmatch of the century. Who would win?

Boom opened his mouth as he began twitching nervously. He had not chosen wisely. He knew it was going to end up like this one way or another. "Kreeeeeeeeeeee!" The Kokiri hissed out, as he was stunned by the impact.

He heard the Kokiri war-cry, and it was sealed what he had to do. Boom had to help these creatures, if only to save his own skin.

The juggernaut would not face the boar alone! Not when Boom had to destroy the predators that wanted to come after him! Boom reached into his bag as he pulled out a Bombchu. Boom jumped up as he tossed the bombchu at the Juggernaut's target. It would go off fairly quickly, and hopefully cause some damage to the boar, making No Point's job easier.

"Heeeheeeheeee!" He couldn't help but to laugh, despite the fact this was an incredibly dangerous situation. Perhaps it was what drove him to this particular bit of laughter.

Raisa growled angrily at the explosion of sound and light. Squinting furiously she looked around to see the Kokiri taking up arms, and more importantly the brute was attempting to fight a boar man to man. Well that seemed increadiably stupid but she had little choice but to help the man. Raisa reached into her cloak and hurled a bola at the boar's feet attempting to trip it up so as to make No-Point's job easier, after all if it collapsed before it reached him there wouldn't be much of a problem would there?

Attack roll beaten by @Boomrocker, @Eklispe, and @Professor_Wyvern's Defense roll. No Attack roll from @Boomrocker. Current dice pool: 9, 1 will be re-added to the pool in one turn

The beast locks its tusks with No-Points mighty clutches, but is blasted to the side by Boom's explosive and Raisa's bolas. With a gutrenching squeal, the beast expires, having pinned its rider in the process. The rider, while hors de combat for the moment, is far from defeated, and swears loudly as he attempts to pry himself free.

Any hope of finishing the rider off is temporarily quashed, as No-Point is assaulted by a duo of heavily-armored Kokiri.

The pair of warriors enact a plan of confusion, constantly endeavoring to flank the beleaguered warlord. When he turns to face one, the other goes for a wicked jab to the ribs. Landing a hit on even one of them will be difficult without taking a grievous wound in turn.

Screw landing hits. No-Point was going for the jugular!

No-Point was a big guy. A strong guy. A fast guy. And Kokiri were small, and light, and weak. Sure, they were quick, but if he could get his hands on one of them, well, it would be a simple matter to use his newfound living club to lay out the beatdown on the other one.

Of course, for it to work, he'd need a ton of help.

It appeared that thing, the thing with No Points would have far more heat to deal with. Boom was happy that the aggression from the Kokiri military wasn't directed at him, for a change. However he did throw a Bombchu to help the warlord. If the Warlord fell, Boom was surely one of the next targets. As such, he had to act quickly.

So Boom delved into his bag as he pulled out another Bombchu.Boom smirked as he chucked towards the direction of this new batch of heavily armored targets.

Though he didn't notice something dreadful until it was far too late. He used one of the Bombchus that wasn't properly set up. After all, there were plenty to collect and repair. Surely the man lacking in pointed ears would be fine in this encounter.

It was only two heavily armed and trained guards. What was the worse they could do to that hulking monstrosity? Well, besides being an effective force to implement the will of the Kokiri.
