Okay, this is basically a feature I see being used in another forum that I think could be used here. Basically it's sort of like subscribing, but here's how it works. When you click on a "see watchlist" button, it takes you to a page where you see all the threads that you subscribed to and have new posts. Clicking on the thread takes you to the last post you've seen so you can read the new posts. Does that work?

While I realize you said it's "sort of like subscribing", what you describe is exactly how the subscription function used to work on the old Guild.
