Lewis Smith was sitting in the cafe. Le café de patriote. It was in fact, owned by the agency. Usually, they used it as a recruiting center. If people came in with an invitation, they were sent to the VIP lounge, and then offered a job.
This time, it was going to be used for briefing. Lewis was sitting there, sipping a mocha while silently praying. A silenced mac-10 sits on the table. Soon, a team of other agents would be sent here, and they'd be briefed on a new mission they were about to receive.

Valrassh steps into the cafe and takes a moment to quietly study the Gynoid before looking over at Lewis and nodding slightly "Sir." before taking a seat in the corner.

The bed wasn't that great, the food tasted as cheap as it was, at least the coffee was pretty good. This hotel had a ton of things Levi didn't like, the wallpaper was a ridiculous shade of green for example. But he had to make due with it. For first time in his life he had been set free in the real world... And he didn't like it one bit. The agency life he had up until now had always served him well, but now he needed money to get things. Papers which held no value, but did because some people said it did. Levi got dressed, a blood-red shirt under a black suit. The young angel walked to the reception, entering it via a dark brown door with his wings retracted. He looked straight in the face of the owner, a plump woman in her late forties.

"Oooh, mister Angellus, it is so good to see you again! How was your night?"
"Yes, it is good to see me again. I'll be leaving now." Luckily he had already paid the previous night, he couldn't stand this woman.
"Did you use something out of your minibar, sir?" said the receptionist in a less friendly voice.

Levi replied that he didn't use anything, although he drained the thing. Without further ado the angel grabbed his suitcase, walked out of the shabby hotel and hailed a cab. The cabby nodded when his destination was given and, thank god, he knew better than to engage in small talk. Levi paid the cabby when they arrived at the cafe. Was the chance tip? Well, no. With the chance still in his hand Levi entered the cafe and saw the group of people that he was supposed to meet, a human, a robot and a lizardman. So he was the last one to arrive... He plunged the money on the bar and ordered a coffee. The angel walked over to the group, "Hi, I'm here so let's get started, shall we?"

"Let's, so what are we here for?" Yuri asks, placing the butt of the tesla gun on the ground and sitting down. She looked at the agent, waiting for him to tell them why they had been gathered. The Gynoid also slung a messenger bag on the table, sighing to herself.

A man walks in wearing a blue suit. This man is a tall, gaunt figure. He's fairly intimidating, but still looks approachable.
(Picture: http://media.battlestarwiki.org/images/2/29/Season3_Promot_William_Adama.jpg )

He speaks. "Everyone, have a seat."
A whiteboard is in the back of the room. He pulls out a remote, and a projector projects onto the white board.
"Alright, so here's what's going on, agents. I was recently assigned a team of agents to be under my command. Each one of you was handpicked by myself from a very short list of section 1 rookies. Feel proud. Today, you'll be given your first assignment."

The projector screen emits an image of a playground. There's a few figures there. "We're going to start you off with an easy job. We've recently found a few zombies wandering about a playground at night. Kill them. Don't get caught."

Valrassh looks puzzled for a moment, studying the layout of the playground and the figures inside it.

"Excuse me sir, is that it?" he questions in a gravelly voice, "Just go kill a few zombies? Are we expecting a haunted house nearby?"

While he starts assembling his gear, he begins checking the background of the picture, looking for any tell tale signs of a haunted house, boarded up windows, limited exits, etc.

Yuri nods, taking a photographic picture if the playground and storing it away in her RAM. She picks up her Tesla Gun, flipping on transistors and capacitors on the gun. It started to emit a dull hum, like a fluorescent tube. She pointed the weapon at the ground, waiting for others to get ready.

The Commander speaks. "We believe they might be coming from a haunted house, but they seek prey near the playground. Your job is to kill the undead monsters, and, if you can, find any clues that'll point us to a haunted house. That way, we can send in section 2 or something. By the way, since we hate to lose agents on their first real job, we've hired someone to help you. She should be arriving any moment now..."

"What makes you think I'm not already here?" A feminine voice asked, the last word's R rolling almost in a purr. The woman stepped out from the side of the VIP entryway, walking up to the table. She was draped in a heavy cloak, covering her from head to ankle. The boots she wore were clearly military style, as were the gloves on her hands that were holding the cloak closed.

"Commander. I am glad you chose to accept my contract. You almost didn't make the deadline. Do you make it a habit of keeping a girl waiting?" She chuckled, then pulled her hood down. The first thing those gathered would most likely notice first. The cat ears atop the mercenary's head. Obviously they were fake, right? "A few zombies don't sound like a problem. What's the catch?"

The Commander looks at her. He's wholly not surprised by her cat-like features. In fact, he already knew of them. The Agency was on top of this sort of thing. They had been investigating the experiments that had made her not human, and had been keeping an eye on her ever since. However, she might not be aware of this fact.

As for Lewis, he really can't be bothered to care /that/ much, either. The fact of the matter is, even rookie agents tend to believe that they've seen everything.

The commander says "Problem is that we think there might be more than just shamblers there." He clicks on the projector screen. There's one zombie that looks a bit more lean than others. It's also significantly taller. "We think there might be a runner in there. That's why we've hired you, Kat. All in all, though, we think that we'll be fine. It's your first field mission. We like to make sure there's not much of a catch."

The woman raised an eyebrow, and...did her ears just twitch? No, just a trick of the light. "Rookies with possibility of runners? Well that should be interesting at least." Kat slides into a chair beside the commander. As she sat, she opened her cloak, revealing a combat uniform, camoed with urban colors. There were various pouches and pockets on the uniform, but the obvious thing was what appeared to be a long, slim machete in a sheathe attached to her thigh. She also carried a handgun on her right hip and a combat knife on her left hip.

Kat glanced around the table a moment before lifting a hand to a waitress to order a rather amusing drink choic...soy milk and a shot of tequila. She nodded to the waitress as she brought the drinks over, her ears seemingly twitching again. This time it was not the light. Those things most certainly moved on their own. Were they some sort of mechanical headset? They looked similar to the cosplay pieces from years past, but more pricey. The fur on them looked almost real...

Valrassh studied the woman in silence for a long moment, and was finally interrupted by the waitress asking him if he wanted something to drink. He waved her away but she persisted offering him a glass of water, in response to which he gave her a glare that sent her scurrying away in a massive hurry, no doubt to tell her boss about the lizard harassing her...

"Kat..." he rumbled, "I've heard of you... Names Valrassh. It will be interesting to see if you can live up to your hype" He turned back to Lewis "If there is nothing else, I assume we will rendezvous back here shortly before nightfall? Or did you have another location in mind?"

Kat chuckled and turned her eyes to the rookies for the first time. In the illumination of the light above their table, all of them might notice something odd with her eyes. They just didn't look right...Were they vertical? The ears, while just above the line of the light, appeared to move once again. "And just what have you heard, my dear dinosaur?" She folded her arms across her chest, kicking her feet up.

"I'll have some water." Yuri says to the waitress as she leaves. She flipped off the power switch on the gun and it stopped it's humming. She focused her eyes upon the felomorph, then looked downwards into her lap. She pretended to be messing with the weapon to avoid conversation until her water came.

Kat turned her slit pupils to Yuri, leaning forward to take a sip of her milk. "And I imagine you are the cheerleader for this motley assortment of misfits?" She taunted, grinning and baring her fangs at the young woman. Clearly she wanted to get a rise out of the rookies.

"I'm the... Medic most likely, I don't support violence but I'll stitch up these people and stun those who hurt them." She stated with a hint of uncertainty. "I haven't really got anything but a tiny first aid kit thought."

Valrassh merely looked at the cat-woman for a moment, he wouldn't let the dinosaur comment get to him, his own clan had done far worse to him. "I have heard enough to be curious... little woman" he stated quietly, drawing out those last two words for emphasis.

The commander says "Alrighty then. I'll let you get to know eachother. I want you to meet at this playground at midnight. Lewis will be in charge of the operation." He walks over to Lewis and glares at him. "Make this one work, understand me?"

Lewis nods and takes a sip of wine. He's not phased at all. "Yes, sir.". He swivels his chair around so that he can speak with his teammates.
"I've been trained in detective work, mostly." He turns to the cat-woman and says "You know, I've actually not seen very many humanoids with cat-ears before. Where'd you get them?"

Lewis looks out the window. There are buildings crumbling, and the city looks more like a steel jungle than an actual...city. Lewis sighs.

"I'd like to hide up on a nearby roof and look down at the park." Yuri states in the monotone voice that dominates her speech pattern.
