Hundreds of years ago, a man became known as the "King of the Pirates", by doing the impossible, reaching the island of Raftel at the end of the Grand Line. While the name of this man has been lost to history, his legacy lived on.

A Golden Age of Piracy...

A Silver Age of Piracy...

The King of the Pirates, who hailed from the weakest of the four seas.

The names of the era became forgotten, as did many of the stories, but in these many years, wars have come and gone, technology lost and gained, but the legacy of the King would never disappear.

The world stands on the crux of a new age. Privateers roam the sea, free of the grips of the World Government and the Celestial Dragons. It is in these days, that one crew began to form, one who's adventures would shake the Grand Line and the world.

~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~
Advent yawned slightly as he stared into the light blue sky. He took a moment to ponder how he'd gotten here. His leg hung over a bench in a prison yard. He'd been arrested a week ago for attempting to steal a Marine ship. Were he not a Marine before that day, he was certain he'd have been put to the gallows instead.
"Should probably leave soon..." He mumbled to himself, rolling over on the hard wooden bench. Of course, he'd also been written off as a weakling. While he'd been on a crew on the Grand Line one from Marine Headquarters in Marineford, he'd often slacked off, trying to keep his head down and get constant demotions. All of this, of course, was to get shipped off to the sea where the King of the Pirates was born and set sail from. Advent wanted to explore that sea, to live and follow in the footsteps of that man.
"Hey, shithead," someone spoke. "This is my bench. Shove off."
Advent rolled back over with a groan. "Hmm?" He mumbled.
Elijah had just been thrown in the rec yard. He couldn't help himself. "You got much practice falling down and bleeding?"
The guard couldn't help but laugh and say no. "You will before I leave here." Elijah said a defiance that couldn't be match. Elijah got up and walked around. He couldn't help but pissed about how he got there. That was story for another time.
Elijah was pissed, he wanted a fight. He needed a way to get the energy out. It wasn't long before he came across the ideal candidate to hit. Elijah saw a man picking or bullying some dude on a bench. He couldn't help himself. Elijah deviled a Superman Punch.
Elijah calmly walked up to the guy and shouted "GUMMA GUMMA, MY DICK, BITCH!" Elijah lifted his knee before slamming it back and throwing his fist forward. His fist landed cleaning on his opponents jaw. His fist traveled past the mans jaw and he felt his right most knuckle break.
The man went down on the ground. He was out cold. As Elijah collected himself, he shock his hand a few times before speaking out loud. "Can I get another volunteer please! I'm that type guy would fuck a man in ass and not have the decency to give a man a reach around." Elijah's vice was angry and as full as rage as he himself was.
Advent looked up. "This place is too noisy... Can't a guy just get a nap?" He asked, sitting up and yawning again, realizing that the spot he was in was quickly becoming surrounded by pissed off inmates. "Sheesh, what a pain in the ass..." He mumbled, looking at the noisy man. "Is a prison yard really the place to be causing this kind of ruckus?" he asked, rubbing his eyes. He looked up at the other man before standing up straight so they were eye to eye. Someone threw a punch, trying to catch one of the two off guard.
It didn't work. Advent stepped back slightly, reaching under the man's wrist. He stepped back forward in the same motion, tucking his shoulder under the attacker's armpit. He lunged upwards while shifting on his heels, flipping the aggressor over his shoulder and onto the ground on his back, all without releasing the man's wrist. He then forced the man's arm straight down, popping the shoulder, and likely the elbow as well, out of socket. "Dammit... They're going to think I'm your friend now... Who the heck are you, anyway?" He asked as he let go of the limp arm, allowing the prisoner to writhe on the ground in pain.
"My name is Elijah Craigh, and I'm in-need of good fight!" Elijah said. "So Gentlemen, we found ourselves at impasse. Do you keep fighting or do I get make you drink my piss?"
Elijah took a stance that says he was ready for anything that could happen. He was ready for all save the new friend he had made. He didn't expect him to attack, there was plan for him but it wasn't a good one.
Advent sighed and scratched his head. "Advent," he said, kicking a plank from the bench in half and taking it in his left, holding it in a backhanded grip. "And, seeing as I have a feeling this situation is going to cause me a bit of trouble, I'm thinking I'm going to break out of here now... A week off was enough time for me," he said, looking around.
'Guards will be coming soon, but I need to know from where...' He thought to himself as he lowered his stance, holding the plank close to his back and his fist ahead.
"So, I'm getting out of here... If you want to watch my back, I won't stop you from leaving with me," Advent said as he jumped into the air, doing a flip over someone who he used to brace his hand, then kicked off of, knocking the man into several others. "Just keep up. I move kind of fast," he said, darting toward the main building of the prison.
"Have no fear on that score. I've spent two weeks sober thats more than enough time for me." Elijah said following his new found friend.
It wasn't long before the two new found friends found the warden of the prison. At the very least two people had been hurt. The truth be told, there was many more hurt in the rage that was Elijah Craigh and his new found partner in crime.
What kinda shit was this for prison break? Only two people had been broken and past that, it was almost too easy. That was until the main warden swung and hit an inattentive Elijah with his mighty club.
He was sent flying into a wall. As if hitting for the wall wasn't bad enough, Elijah was quickly acquainted with the floor.
"Oi, careful there!" Advent called back to the floored prisoner. "Ah, dammit..." He turned to the acting warden, lowering his stance. "Hey there, big guy, I know, you've got a job to do and all, but there's some important things of mine in here and I've gotta get out of here, so I need this guy to watch my back, so how about we just play nice and pretend we never met each other..." He said with a smile.
Focus... Advent thought to himself. He knew the words wouldn't convince the man, but he needed a little time. Just need to focus. If I can fortify my fist it will only take one punch, so FOCUS
As Elijah bounced off the wall, the Warden took another swing. This time the focus of his attack was Advent. The Warden swung wildly in hopes of crushing Advent.
If anyone was gonna breakout of this prison it wasn't gonna these two piss ants.
It's coming! Advent thought as he raised the bit of wood he'd been using as a 'sword'. "FOCUS!" he shouted, clashing the flimsy piece of wood with the heavy club. Amazingly, the board stood, and Advent's eyes widened slightly. It worked! He thought.
An invisible armor had wrapped around the 'sword', and around Advent's right arm.
"Take this! Proud fist!" He shouted, swinging his hardened fist at the warden's face full force.
The Warden side stepped the punch and took a mighty swing at the standing prisoner. This man was gonna die one way or another, no one escaped this prison!
Elijah on the other hand, was not about take any of this lying down. He jumped to his feet and ran towards the Warden. Eli didn't say a word before jumping into the thrusting his knee into the Wardens ear. The effect was yet to be determined.
"Dammit, come on, come on, don't lose it now..." Advent mumbled as he ducked under the swing. It was easier to hold onto the ability once he'd started it, but it wasn't easier by much. "Just go down, you big bastard!" He said, moving to the side and swinging his hardened fist at the other side of the man's head. "Let's crush him, buddy!"
With a knee on one side and crushing fist on the other side. The Warden fell down to the ground. His eyes rolled over in the back of his head. He was out cold. Elijah however, went down with him. A side effect of hitting him with his knee.
"Bitch Ass Warden."
Advent looked down at Elijah while raising a brow, his invisible armor fading. Probably not going to be able to pull that off again anytime soon... Sure it won't be a problem though. He noticed Elijah's knuckles at that point and crossed his arms. "You ever think of maybe picking up a style that doesn't involve breaking yourself along with your opponents? Ah, whatever, no time for that..." He said, starting to shuffle around the office before he found what he was looking for.
"Aha!" He pulled a standard issue marine's saber and a small object that looked somewhat like an hourglass with a single spherical chamber and a needle instead of sand.
"Man, I'd really be lost without this thing!" Advent laughed, showing it to Elijah with a smile. There was a small plate on the bottom that read 'Gourmet'. "Anyway, we should probably get moving. I'm sure the head warden's not going to be gone forever, and I have a boat to steal."
"Where would be the fun in that? You have to give them at least a sporting chance." Elijah said holding his half broken hand up. He was wearing a grin on his face that could come from deep and scary place.
He too went through the office. Looking for something very special to him. His very special blade, one that almost always drew too much attention for anyone's safety. It was his kukri, it was almost a perfect balance between a blade and a hatchet. There wasn't much defense with the weapon and nowhere near the defense as something like a saber, yet he loved it all the same. It just meant that he had to get out of the way more. He slid into the back of his belt and he was ready whatever came next.
"Well, lead on then guy. I'm leaving this place one way or another."
"How exactly did you get thrown in here?" Advent asked as he set his saber to his belt and the orb in his pocket. "I'll keep myself uninjured thanks. Shit like that would get me killed on the Grand Line." He pointed out as he opened the door, walking on the warden as he passed. As he got into the hall, he started to run, avoiding several marines who fired at him, kicking at least one of them in the head as he approached the front of the prison.
"Right, just gotta get out to the shipyard!" Advent laughed as he ran, bursting through the front door, only to see a middle aged man standing at the end of the path, the nearly six and a half foot tall man's jet black hair split down either side by two stripes. Advent noticed the man was dressed as a marine and smiled. "What, the last guy here's just an old man? That's disappointing!" He said as he leapt forward, punching the man right in the face.
The man didn't respond at all, not even dropping the bag of groceries he was holding. Advent blinked. "Er... Shouldn't you be falling down?" He asked, a bit confused as he withdrew his fist.
The man didn't even have a nosebleed, much less the broken nose Advent was expecting.
"Uh..." Advent started before getting kicked in the gut and flying back into the door.
"What's all this ruckus then?" The middle aged man spoke with a stern voice. "Why is a prisoner out here?"
"No, dad, I don't want any more, thanks," Advent mumbled, dizzy.
"It'll only get you killed if you're not good enough." Elijah said without a second thought to the matter.
Elijah watched the whole of the matter happen. He didn't interfere with anything that happened. There wasn't much he could do, between the distance and just not knowing what was going on kept from acting.
When he walked into the room and saw his jail break buddy on the ground. It didn't take long to put two and two together.
"Well Dad, we just wanted some chocolate milk. Is that so hard get around here? Is that so much to ask?" Ell reached behind him, waiting for the right moment to draw his weapon and strike. But only if he had too.
Advent stood up, shaking his head off. "Careful..." He mumbled. "This guy... I think he's got a devil fruit. I just punched him in the face and he didn't even flinch..." He muttered, drawing his saber in his left hand. "He's a lot tougher than that club bastard." He spoke as he moved forward, swinging the blade at the older man.
The older man raised up his arms. "Coil guard," He spoke, taking his fist in his hand and twisting his arm around.
"... That's!" Advent exclaimed as his sword connected with the man's arm, barely even causing a scratch. The man jumped back. "Now I see..."
Eli didn't wait for an invitation to attack.. He quickly blade and went to work with a jumping slash to the mans face. He put all he had into it. The blade its self was heavy with a huge spine. It was made for cleaving, this mans head wasn't the first to be split nor was it gonna be last. Only it didn't happen that way.
The blade had almost no effect. Nearly bouncing off the mans head. As he landed the situation dawned on him. "Well then, this won't end well. Guess I am drinking your piss tonight." With a look that said "Yup, I dun fucked up." Elijah was hit in the face and sent flying into the wall for the second time today.
"Okay... So..." Advent groaned as he stood. "This man... He ate one of the legendary devil fruits... One tied firmly to the golden age of pirates..." He spat. "That's the gum gum fruit..." He spoke.
"Perceptive," the warden spoke. He'd used his arm to quickly intercept the second blade aimed at his head. "If you know of my fruit, then it's to your benefit to surrender now."
"Nobody said anything about surrendering!" Advent spoke. "I know your fruit... Then I can fight it!" He darted forward again, slashing at the warden from a number of directions. The man drew his sword and quickly began to parry.
"You're no swordsman," the warden spoke as he deflected the blows.
Just keep thinking that... I don't need to be... As long as that crazy bastard catches the hint...
