*dusts off some MtG lore knowledge*

As far as I can remember, only living, flesh and blood creatures can be planeswalkers. Demons and Angels are manifestations of black and white mana; they don't have a soul.

I mean, unless you give a flavor reason.

EDIT: Another nitpick, but looking at the OP, Planeswalkers do not have the inherent ability to time travel. Karn could only time travel because he was specifically designed to do so by Urza, a master artificer, and even then it had apocalyptic repercussions. Sarkhan traveled through time because of some weird ghost that Ugin left behind (it's not really adequately explained), not by his own power.

Technically speaking, ALL blue and/or white planeswalkers can time travel even post-mending. All they need to do is go to Esper, pay tuition fees, and study Clockworking.

But that's a pretty gimmicky, weak sort of time travel.

So, this seems like a bit of a mess. You are trying to adapt the game's mechanics to the in-game universe's lore, which isn't going to work too well. A yugioh RP works because the story is about people playing the yugioh card game. In magic, since the lore and the playing of the game are separate, you either make an RP about people playing the card game (which would be kind of boring), or an RP that takes place in the universe, but doesn't mention the card game.

So, it might be best to remove the mentions of libraries and planeswalker abilities, as they pertain to the card game, and make a more usual character sheet, with a section for describing magical abilities and such.

It would also be nice to focus the plot on a specific conflict/plane, or something, so that we don't just half of the characters on completely random planes doing who knows what.

Well, my main interest in this was that we would be roleplaying using MTG mechanics in-universe. Otherwise it's just another fantasy fandom RP.

@Dead Cruiser Ryuzaki said that we'd be drawing cards and playing out the game exactly like normal. Of course we'd be on the honor system with what we have in hand, but there's a bit of trust involved in any kind of text based RP. I don't think your scenario is realistic.

@Dead Cruiser You don't have to like the format, but that's what caught my attention about this one: a fusion of MTG mechanics for combat with the storytelling elements of roleplaying. Sounds like a good time to me.

@Dead Cruiser Nah. I like the idea of actually playing MTG as the combat mechanic in a roleplay and I hope the OP sticks with it.

Look, we know for a fact that the RP will be taking place in the MTG universe. Believe it or not, the card game's mechanics make NO SENSE within the context of the universe. Planeswalkers don't take turns in attacking each other, and they certainly don't have to increase the number of lands they are drawing mana from.

I'd rather just get with friends and play if I was going to be playing MtG, rather than attempt to play it online in the most painstaking manner possible.

so, @Ryuzaki, are you going to give us any word, or are you just going to abandon this?

Dropping this due to personal issues and diminishing schedule.
