Right, here's my character. I also had trouble finding a picture I liked, everything I found just looked weird, or was sexed up.

Also these mechs don't look aerodynamic and aren't meant to be in space, just an observation.

True, I just grabbed first good one I found. Anyway, I changed her mecha to one that looks like it might be able to fly at least.

Well my thoughts were it could work like transformers, or they're attached to a booster... plane thing... I don't know what to call it.

Right, it is sci-fi so it also doesn't need to make complete sense. Anyway suppose there's nothing else to do but get started, I was thinking we could go two ways here. Start on the ground after the crash landing, or start right at the beginning of whatever fight they take part in. It'll be like starting slow, or starting fast.

I was thinking starting towards the end of the battle, but I guess at the start is fine too. Do you want to write the first post? I'll probably work on it tomorrow otherwise.

Alright end is fine, sort of works the best for both. I can make the first post then, I do imagine our characters won't be interacting until they crash into the planet.

By the way, have you thought of a reason why they go down in the first place?

Edit: Oh also what's the alien race's name?

Shot down, or engine malfunction? Maybe the battle started further away from the planet, but due to the chaos it slowly moved towards it.

How about this, the planet has an especially powerful electromagnetic field, like Earth's but a lot stronger. The battle starts quite some distance from the planet because both sides would obviously know this, however for whatever reason our characters drift too close then are caught in this field.

On the ground there is way too much interference to call for help, and anything that wasn't heavily shielded for EMP is fried.

Cool, so how do you want to play it out from here? Have some good old mech combat for a few posts, or go straight to how they will end up crash landing.

I don't mind longer posts. I do mind the control of my character. It moved the plot along, but don't do it again.
