It's not regular fire no. Also it's not meant to be explained, he's a guy who can create fire out of no where with his mind. Multiple kinds of fire at that.

He controls fire. What it burns, where it goes, etc. It's not going to burn her unless he wants it to. Does that uh... make more sense?

Don't worry I got that in mind already. He has a limited use of his fire powers when he's not exposed to sunlight. If it's been say 2 hours since he was last outside in the sun, he should be good for a while.

She would have to move. There is no currents so hovering woud be difficult with her winds the way the are.
